louis ck takes a lot of inspiration from woody allen. the movie "annie hall" has a very similar theme to the six part elevator episode. the original name for the movie was actually "anhedonia"
THIS! Perfect message, I wish I had lingered on some of those moments. It felt like they engulfed me though so I tried my hardest to push them away. I highly recommend the film Little Miss Sunshine which deals with similar subject matter 💙
This in an interesting perspective. People are so worried about escaping their bad times instead of looking to what they could actually stand to gain from them in the long run. Of course, you won’t gain anything every time, but it’s better to try, at least.
I like at the end of shadowland he says Why love, if losing hurts so much?” “I have no answers anymore: only the life I have lived.” “Twice in that life I've been given the choice: as a boy and as a man. * The boy chose safety, the man chooses suffering.” “The pain now is part of the happiness then. That's the deal
New uploads come when I need them 👏🏾🩷 you’re such an angel, I wish your peers had treated you better. But these days are different, we see the treasure that you are!
Good video. The moments where we feel miserable can be moments that we learn lessons from and grow as people because of what we learned. This obviously isn't to say people should be miserable all the time, though.
There are people that spend a lifetime trying to come to the realization that you have -- pain is good. Pain spurs growth. Pain leads to experiences that one might not necessarily encounter. Pain gives meaning to joy. As Captain Kirk so vehemently exclaims in Star Trek V, "I need my pain!"
Dope shit man. I totally agree. Keep up the good work man, hope your channel blows up!!
Love this quote from my favourite TV show. Louis is a master of philosophy
