    She is a remarkable talent. One of the best in the world on three events and LEARNING A CHENG. Imagine having the potential to medal on every single event like Simone could have. She’s incredible. Her Lopez looks like the Cheng could be so doable.

      I also think her coaches, the graba brothers, are absolute geniuses. Their thinking, pacing, composition. Jess will be the next star for elite gymnasts.

      Is a Lopez a Cheng but with a half twist? How come nobody does a “Cheng” but with a full twist? Only person I know who did the full twist Cheng is McKayla Maroney .

    • @drew-ih7bx
      @drew-ih7bx 2 года назад +1

      @@Kayyleeeeee so a Cheng is a half on , 1.5 off. A Lopez is a half on, half off. Not sure what the half on, full off is called but it’s def less common than the other two. As u said, maroney did it and if I recall correctly Aliya mustafina and nabeiva did it in 2010 I think (back when they did two vaults, one being the Amanar) also 2012 vault Olympic champ Isbasa did it too! I think it’s not common (especially anymore) bc it’s a blind landing and adding a half twist or taking away a half twist to eliminate the blind landing is smart.

    She has changed NCAA gymnastics forever. Also, it wasn't in this video, but Suni's stuck Lopez at the Quad Meet @ Alabama was freaking amazing, not perfect, but freaking amazing, knowing we weren't even sure if she'd be healthy to vault again at one point. LOVE YOU, SUNI!!! Just continuing to make history and making it look easy, and my biggest hope for her is that it is fun. :)

      @@rafaelteixeira7961 we have no idea if olsen, carey or yeo will even be competing this year, the russians now almost certainly won’t be competing and the US field is likely to be weaker on vault overall. I’m sorry but a clean DTY and a Lopez very much could get her into the final. I think you’re completely missing the fact that we’re now in a post olympic year. The 2021 worlds had many dty+lopez combinations, and the field wasn’t necessarily weak. I think you’ve just missed the point I was making tbh, me saying she could win a medal this year I mean at Worlds, not OG.
