Start with the right moisturiser - This Beauty Pie formula is great, its a gel and really cooling on the skin. My top tip for very thirsty skin is to use Shinkai as a hydrating mask. Expecially good using it straight from the fridge. Perfect for soothing & cooling skin thats seen a little too much sun and great for an extra hydration hit.
Then layer on the sun protection. Less is more when it comes to your base, I like to use concealer instead of a foundation or tinted moisturiser. A tubing mascara is brilliantly effective in hot weather as it won't move or smudge onto the undereye. Always use a setting spray, stay away from cream blushers and bronzers and finish with a long lasting lipstick.

Hi Caroline I found switching out my primer and wearing less makeup worked well for my very dry skin in the heat/humidity we had the last few weeks. I normally use a very hydrating primer and switching to a more dimethicone primer really helped stop the makeup sweating off. I also applied a tinted spf all over and minimal foundation/concealer in the centre of the face only (where my rosacea is the most red) worked too. I normally wear the barest dusting of powder and just a bit more than normal with a little setting spray kept it on fairly well. I think it depends where your skin is to start off with tbh. I can't wear my rich/buttery creams in this weather, so multiple layers of hydrating toners/essences sealed in with a lighter moisturiser is working for me. I still wear ultrasun spf and only use sprays as a top up - sprays are not really going to give a really good base layer of spf without multiple passes and rubbing them in. I am still really dry in the Summer though and my skin soaks up as much hydration as I can layer on it (no matter how many fluids I consume orally), but most people don't have this level of dryness in the Summer to contend with I'm aware. I also have a lot more to cover with the rosacea than you do and need the base layer of tinted spf as well as concealer to feel confident. Best wishes.

#What a great idea about the SPF mist!! I'm trying hard to be good and put on SPF every day, but I think it's sliding off (like everything else), especially in the recent muggy heat. Not to mention my (perimenopausal) age, skin & internal body temperature!! I will definitely be using that tip for the rest of the summer.. And keeping skincare in the fridge... Mascara and lip are fine for me in summer. Maybe a shimmery eyeshadow and light bronzer if I need oomph.

Hi Caroline, re your cough, my husband has the same for weeks, drove him nuts. I invested in some Manuka honey (cheaper in your supermarket) but must be Manuka. A teaspoon every morning (not in liquid) has done wonders. As you probably know honey is nature’s anti-bacterial. Feel better soon. Love your vids, always learning from you, just adore this look 💚

Hi Caroline I’m 70 on Monday. I haven’t really plucked my eyebrows much over the years but I don’t seem to have many on the outer edges. I’m strawberry blonde and many of my eyebrow hairs are now white and wiry eugh! What would you suggest?

Caroline, You are just so lovely and real! Yes I have tried the lip marker and it takes days to wear off, because it's like a stain. I really don't mind it. I can put a balm over it the next day and I just have a hint of color that's fresh like after eating a popsicle.

Pixie used to have a similar product, years ago, that was the only lip stain that lasted without streaking throughout the day, it just seemed to fade evenly. I haven’t been able to find it in the US in many years.

That lip product looks amazing. Hard to find a long lasting formula that isn’t uncomfortable. I tried the new Huda Lip Blush and found it very drying

Sorry I got to this video late and appreciate your tips. As a follow up, I’ve using the Erborian BB Cream for 1 1/2 weeks now and I’m enjoying it. It was perfect for my Florida visit, especially since we got stuck there a few days longer than intended. Now that I have a bit of color, the Dore shade is perfect.
I think I’m going to try that Make Up For Ever matte liquid lipstick on my cheeks too; I just can’t get blush to stay on my cheeks, even cream blushes.
I would love to try Caroline but unfortunately Beauty Pie are only shipping to the UK, been waiting for years that they ship to Portugal :-(

Just a hint/tip, I use a clear lip liner to stop my dark lipsticks from traveling into my fine lines.
Love you, you are one of the best! Would you consider doing a film/update film on treatments? Lasers, fillers, etc? I had a gorgeous laser treatment last year, but the second go round left me with two (!!) pock marks on my cheek, and while lessened (an entire year later) they are still clockable.
Beautiful as always Caroline but I’m not a fan of the red lip. Would love to have seen a lighter coral lip or something along those lines as it looks softer, red always looks too hard and severe to me. Although you manage to pull it off because you have lovely shaped lips.🥰💜

I wonder this too, looks like similar texture. Neutrogena Hydroboost has a gel cream moisturizer that’s similar to the Clinique.
