Nice to know Harley fixed the sissy bar problem from the 2017 Slim. Lot of good it does me and my 2017 Slim which needs a rear tail-light relocation kit! The one biggest problem I have with my slim is the turn signal location on back of newer model Slims. Cheesy a** reflector should be tail light instead!
The quick Detach is convenient but I feel like it’s quite bad because for anyone who knows how the sissy bar is installed they can just come up to your bike and steal it
Dude Great Review!! I have the same sissy bar and love it. The silver medallion that is in the cross bar disappeared about a month after I got mine, probably not enough glue or something. But I ended up wrapping the crossbar with gray para cord so it looks good still. It definitely served me well on my ride down to SC and back!
Thanks Gonk, One of the best additions I have done. Use it almost every ride these days. Gonna steal that paracord idea. Got 3 inches of snow yesterday gonna try and get the Mavic out today and get some drone footage. Hope it comes back in one piece.
Excellent video. I have the same bar but in chrome. Haven’t installed it yet because I need to figure out what hardware I need to accommodate my saddlebags.
I have the same Sissy Bar but mine is a little different at the bottom where it meets the fender, unfortunately the assembly requires a turn signal relocation kit ( 50 bucks) or there is a hack where you can use a drimmel tool to cope the lower edge of the mounting bracket for signal light clearance ( 2012 Fatboy Lo) and a little touch up paint on the brackets. Fortunately Ima Certified welder with a strong metal fabrication background, so this will be the way I will go. It’s a shame HD did not get this engineering better for the Fatboy because this style of bike and arguably one of their most iconic models that looks very good with this style bar. I’ve owned my Fatboy since new and just now putting a sissy bar on because none I ever saw looked right on this bike and I’m anul as hell, It took me 15 yrs to change the stock mirrors on my VSTAR, something many do when getting a new bike but while yes I could make it look different, it just did not pass the sniff test, did it look better? Sobthe Bar taking 10 yrs to eventuate is par for the course. Great Vlog, thanks!
Hi Tony, I have two questions that hopefully you can clear up for me. you mentioned the kit that you can also use for your bags. I’m looking for the docking kit that works for both the sissy bar and the saddlebags so that I can have both as quick release does it exist? also, if my sissy bar is the fixed, ome part, is there anyway I can convert it to add the quick release mechanism? Without having to buy the entire sissy bar new? Thanks for any help you can give me great video.
I don’t believe you can convert a fixed sissy bar but you can get QR for the saddlebags. Might want to check with you local dealer. It you have the detachable sissy bar already you just need to buy the new docking hardware for the bags. Hopes this helps.
Great video thanks, I have my sissy bar already on. Is there anyway I can buy and install the quick release system ? if so, please let me know where I can get it and what name to look for, I love the system that you set up but I’m not sure if you went to HD. Thanks for any help. Alex.
@@TonysGarage Thanks for your reply mate. I was looking at the 2020 Harley accessories parts book after making a comment and i noticed they do. part number 52300448 holdfast sissy bar. thanks for showing how easy it is to install.
They should make the sissy bar around the other way so a solo rider can have a back rest I am getting a custom one one made up still clip on an off from down under mate
This tutorial and review is solid, man. Thanks.
Thanks
Thank you for making this... you answered all my questions about this bar / system.

I agree, lights under the rear fender would be perfect. I had them on my iron.
Good video! Like the close up view you show how it works! Thanks
I put one on 16 Fat Bob today. From box to mounted on bike took 30 minutes. Locks in place with confidence. Easy detach!
I love mine very sturdy indeed.
Great product getting mine this week. I also believe it's really well priced

You can get a HD locking mechanism for it.

Is there a lounge rack for the back you can buy? I do have the bar but I really want a rack pointing to the rear. Lmk
Nice sissy bar, Tony/ Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching!
Will this fit a 2022 Fat Bob? I see the part under 48 but not Fat Bob. Can anyone comment if they installed on a Fat Bob. Thanks
You should throw a link up to the product if possible! Want one of these myself!
Will do
I second this. I looked it up and found the link tho.

Did the pieces needed to install come separately?
Nope, everything you need is included.
How much where do you learn how to Weld

if so, please let me know where I can get it and what name to look for, I love the system that you set up but I’m not sure if you went to HD. Thanks for any help. Alex.
It is a Harley brand sissy bar. Harley detachable one piece sissy bar. I don’t think you can add the detachable system to another brand bar
whats the part number for this sissy bar? And can it fit the softail slim
Softail uses a different sissy bar it is non detachable
