- In digitizing my old VHS home tapes, I came across this gem of Michael Feinstein performing in Chicago in the early 1990s. I'm surprised I hadn't worn it out with all the times I viewed it. I want my four year old son to be able to watch and study it now and in the future, as he has already shown some promise at the piano and a love of good tunes. These two songs are great, and deserve to be in the public view. Mr. Feinstein truly enjoys what he does, and is a role model to young piano students and singers. I love his sheer joy in singing I Love a Piano, and his rendition of Whatever Happened to Melody is hauntingly beautiful, and his emphasis on the last three words makes the song. Brilliant songwriting and a brilliant performance. I'm not sure, though, at what point the audience walked out. Maybe Michael Jordan and the Bulls were in town that night...

Somewhere along the line, Granny had a baby grand.. Mom could play it, and indeed accompanied my brother when he was learning saxophone. I don't recall anyone else in the family being able to play it. I remember Mom being heartbroken when it went to someone else in the family after Granny's death. But we had a cheap electronic organ for a while, so she could express herself. But sadly, it wasn't the same for her, and the organ disappeared, Sad memory.
Dearest Michael; after all the hours of joy and sadness you shared with me via your CDs, I just had to say, "Thank you!" Thank you for the wonder of you! Sent with love. CVD
So beautiful! I think that last shot taken with empty tables was just filmed for effect. Such a nice touch I think.
What a treat! And look at those rhymes - "Clarinets were my pets..."

Does anyone have the piano sheet for either one of these two brilliant arrangements? It would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
How devilishly handsome he is….
Feinstein plays .you and I”
"But today when I play I could hiss them
Ev'ry bar is a jar to my system."
Well, I bet that didn't come from a rhyming dictionary.
Mr. Berlin...
The lower parts of the second songs... his voice then reminds me of Josh Groban 💛

No!!!
Is it true Irving Berlin only played the black notes
Yes.
Wow. I wish I was that gay.
