Togakushi Shrine (戸隠神社) walk in the mysterious mountain shrine || hiking in the snow, Nagano, Japan

Togakushi Shrine, 戸隠神社 or Togakushi Jinja is in northern Nagano Prefecture of Japan. It is the must visit place of Nagano. It consists of five Shrines. Togakushi means "hiding door".
It's a wonderful journey to walk in the deep snow to the Togakushi Shrine .
Togakushi Shrine is one of the Best Shrines of Japan. This Togakushi shrine is mysterious and adventurous. It consists of a lower, middle and upper shrine in the Nagano. This shrine has some mythological significance of the Sun Goddess.
This shrine was originally made to enshrine the deity of power at the foot of Mt. Togakushi. According to the Japanese mythology the deity opened a rock door of a cave entrance to bring out the deity of the sun.
The deity of water and harvests is also enshrined in Togakushi Shrine.
People visit the main shrine of Togakushi, Okusha for the blessings of good fortune, good harvests, winning in sports and so on. There is an approximately 500-meter path from Zuishinmon Gate to Okusha with 400 yrs old majestic Japanese cedar trees.
The shrines of Togakushi are connected by roads and hiking trails through forested slopes. Visitors first arrive at the torii gate of the lower shrine. Then comes middle shrine, which stands at the top of a small town of shops and restaurants. The entrance to the upper shrine is a further two kilometers uphill from the middle shrine.
Togakure Ninpo Museum is situated just next to the entrance to the upper shrine. Kids Ninja Village is close to the middle shrine. But due to winter snow it was closed when we visited there.
It consists of five buildings, each named Okusha, Chusha, Hokosha, Kuzuryusha and Hinomikosha.
They enshrine Shinto deities related to a religious myth
a famous sightseeing spot in Nagano Prefecture, by bus and recommended sightseeing routes. Nagano has many high mountains and the nature is very beautiful!!
