All generations of M3s have their pros and cons. I remember all the negatives about the F80 when it came out, thats why I did not get one until LCI so they could work out some kinks. The G80 has really grown on me. I am trying to order one as we speak.

The LCI was not bad at all! The G80 is crazy though - I really am in love with this thing.

I feel like the F80 had one of the shorter products runs. 2015-2018. I felt like BMW could’ve produced it for 2 more years

They could have, but they would have needed to upgrade quite a lot to stay in competition with other brands!

Bcs they couldn’t afford it. After depreciation, people love it

First the F80/82 does not drive perfect it brakes traction under hard acceleration as the chassis can’t cope with the torque and can be down right dangerous. That being said I’ve had every M3/M4 since the E46 and I have enjoyed them all. One thing you are correct about is the BMW communities bitching and whining…..they are in fact for them most part a bunch of annoying little tw*ts thinking they know better than BMW. I love the new grills and I applaud BMW for being bold and doing something different. As for the car itself it’s far superior to the old F80/82 especially with x-drive

I totally agree with your comment about BMW communities always being up-in-arms whenever a new generation comes along. What I also cannot stand is the attempts at revisionist history in order to prop up the old cars. It's because of this revisionism that E9X M3s are suddenly seen as desirable classics ripe for collection, and the "sins" of the F8X are now forgiven almost purely out of spite for the G8X.
Disclosure: I like the E9X generation, but as Jason Cammisa puts it in his M3 video (and I agree with him), the "recipe" for that generation was more of a world-beating M5 than a "DTM car for the street" that the M3 had always been. It was good, but it did stray from the lineage from its predecessors, and thus received a fair bit of backlash when it came out.

I think people now came around and actually like the S55 (its a great engine) and the engine bay looks amazing with the carbon brace. The sound, size, weight I don't think people have really come around, still big and heavy and yeah the steering will never be the same. But lets be honest, people hated on the e9x so much. heavy car, no torque, ect. The v8 was not that well received since till a bmw was suppose to have a straight six engine (even though the car that started it al had a 4cyl engine).
The G80 is a nice car, I actually have come around and would pick one over an F80 (I have an m2 competition and would still pick that over the g80 though after driving them back to back, its just more my jam). The G80 drives amazing, it really hides its size, the seating position is incredible and the transmission is not as bad as some say (but makes me sad you can't have the 6sp on the comp which really is the one to get). As far as looks I really don't mind it anymore, I actually think it looks kind of cool. Congrats on the new car!

You know what you can get with a 6 speed, comp, carbon fiber roof, carbon fiber trunk, and carbon fiber in the engine bay? An F82....... lol

@@oficina_moomoo definitely do lol I was going to get the g80 but it was just way way too ugly. I bought a 2020 f82 and I’m super happy with it. It’s lighter than the e9x and g8x and similar power. Tuning the steering works wonders

@@robsuprem3993 bimmer remote, you just have to buy the cable and he can tune the differential, steering, and edc to become pretty much perfect. This isn't an engine tune and doesn't void your warranty either

less than 1% of all produced have this "issue." It's just a big fart bubble on the forums people love popping their heads inside to sniff together and make it out to be a bigger deal than it is.
