"A *color commentator* or expert commentator is a sports commentator who assists the main (play-by-play) commentator, typically by filling in when play is not in progress." Your mind went somewhere else entirely.
That old clip of Randy saying “Eddie is down there in hell” is a Classic. If there were doubts that WWE was going to milk the poor guys death to.. well, death they died that day.
Trust me, Randy was *NOT* happy about trash talking the late Eddie Guerrero like that. But in the end, it was Vince laying down the law, and defying him would lead to severe consequences, no matter how popular a star you were, so.... his hands were ultimately tied, sadly. That's the problem when you've got a maniacal billionaire egomaniac as the head of creative.....
But we as fans back then knew it. We knew randy didn't want to. We know rey reluctantly signed off on it. We don't fault Randy. He had the utmost respect for Eddie. Was still a great promo. Different times I guess.
Too much hate on vince lol dont forget you watching the product he made famous and he is one who created all the characters mostly and top notch storyline randy orton like superstar will be fired at their start of their career because of randy's immature mistakes he made but vince keep handling him and didn't fired him and made him star by giving him main event level booking sure vince is what you said but he is indeed know how to make a successful business and make profit and you don't
😮@@UltimateFarmer007vince has been getting a check from sports entertainment since 1971. Before Randy was even signed he was a multi-billionaire. Randy is famous because of himself not because of vince. Money talks. RKO has knocked out those times and shown why he is The Viper.
Yeah a lot of these clips are better when you watch the full segments, IMO. If you're ever interested in content with the Undertaker or Kane (or both!), BrothersOfDestruction22 has a huge amount of full length clips, matches, and segments from the attitude era involving them along with the Rock, Austin, Vince, Triple H, etc. Really good stuff.
For the "Eddie's in hell" thing, I guarantee Vince McMahon wrote that line. And I guarantee that nobody except Vince (including Randy) thought it was a good idea or wanted to do it.
A lot of people look back at the Attitude Era with rose colored glasses. They remember the Austin/Rock/McMahon stuff, but they don't remember the other 90% of every episode of Raw and Smackdown. Lol. Or they're newer fans who only know it through WWE's documentary narrative lens. I lived through it. It was fun as a young teenage boy, but I've tried watching it as an adult, and it's pretty bad. Lol

There are 2 types of sports commentators, and the same applies to WWE. Play-by-play, who describes what is going on. x passes to y. X does z, etc. And color commentator, who analyzes what is going on. Color commentators are often former athletes who have first-hand experience/insight into how different tactics and techniques work. And in a WWE context, the commentator is often, but not always, more of a heel.
I no longer watch original wrestling video from other RUclipsrs, I only watch you for wrestling because you're awesome and please please please post longer videos ❤❤❤❤
"Color Commentator" is a term, Bunnymon. Generally, commentator teams have a "play by play" guy (who names the moves used and such), and a "color commentator" who is there to add more flavor to the announcing.
Someone else mention the Color commentator comment is a term used for the second chair in a broadcast team. One is usual a play by play and one maybe two are former contestants in that sport or whatever and they are called color commentators because they add color to the black and white play by play delivery. Sort of outdated because the lead commentator now isn’t just play by play. Also if you maybe took that as a reference to Taz himself he is just well tanned. He is 100% white.
Randy himself was very against saying that line about Eddie Guerrero. He pushed to NOT have him say it, but Vince had the final call and wanted Randy to say that.

Attitude Era is my favorite Era though😆the most entertaining and important matches in WWE history happened in the Attitude Era😊thanks for the video BunBun I love it ❤
Most of these are the Attitude Era (which is considered 1997-2001/2002) or VERY EARLY 2002 Ruthless Aggression. The RA era is considered 2002-2007/2008.
Yes you did wwe was not not good for 2005 -2010 and then became really hard to watch from 2010 to 2022 under Vince and now that Vince is gone it's back to be good and I look to forward to Monday Nights
It was good from 2002 - 2005 which was the beginning of Ruthless agression and then it began to fall off in 2005 and just became terrible in 2010 until now
I think the main reason Wwe is good is bc Vince is gone and they have competition in Aew . Even though I don't like Aew I believe it keeps Wwe on their toes
People will fight for attitude era as the greatest era but it really was a terrible era. It was bad on a week to week basis and if you weren't taker, kane, austin, H, angle, or Rock, your storyline didn't matter. People praise attitude era for it being edgy and nostalgia. The ruthless aggression was much better. Better wrestlers, better stories, better roster.
I wish they didn't mention dead people. Why do we gotta keep mentioning Bray Wyatt? I thought I might stop watching because of CM Punk, but I'm not going to watch a single Wyatt 6 segment.
This is the most overated era. The few selected clips out of context and few wrestlers who stood out oversells how awesome it was when in reality majority was crap. Also It was also only good for fans(not complaining)and white male wrestlers, unlike their female and POC counterparts
They weren't booing her singing they were booing the Un-Americans for interrupting her lol
Monday Night Wars, Attitude era and ruthless aggression era was truly the greatest times for wrestling. WWF was the GOAT 🐐 show back in the day
6:42 A "Color commentator" is the assistant of the main commentator. You could also call him an "expert commentator".

Kurt Angle alone has amazingly funny moments to watch.

I love this era of WWE really since it’s the era I grew up in 😊it started the epic feud between John Cena and Randy Ortan in 2007 it was awesome😁❤
it’s was a great era 🥰
