Dear Lady Sally...Thank you very much for inviting me. I am glad that I could sit in your living room and admire this beautiful music in a wonderful performance. I feel very comfortable here 😁
Dear Robert, I so appreciate your kind and warm words about this music, performance, and the ambience of the room! Yes, you are an invited guest, and a welcomed one too. I'm happy that you feel so comfortable here! Many best wishes to you. 🌻🎶
Hi Jim, it's so nice to hear from you! Thank you for your lovely words about the playing and the teaching. 🎶 I'm glad your practicing is going well. Best wishes to you and your family!
Your, as always, exquisite performance gives one the sense of being part of a conversation - at once comforting and familiar, and then excitingly strange and exhilarating. Thank you, Sally, for sharing it.
Hello Stephen, wow, thank you for another wonderful comment! 💫 I think your words have captured the essence of this piece as Rachmaninoff conceived it. He must have been guided and inspired by just such feelings when he wrote this transcription, so true to Kreisler's original Liebesleid for violin and piano and yet so imaginatively expanded as only Rachmaninoff can do. Thank you for articulating this so insightfully! Wishing the very best to you and with your playing! 🎶
Hello Adam, I am very touched to read your beautiful acknowledgements. You are a kind and generous person. Thank you for your well wishes, ... yes, I am doing well. I also wish the best for you and with you playing.
Your piano sounds a little muffled if i may say. Reading a book on piano practice, i was baffled by the author mentioning the high cost of maintaining acoustic pianos and that one may consider electronic ones, something i would usually not consider as i love acoustic instruments. Any truth to that?
@@goodcyrus This author is right about the high cost of maintaining acoustic instruments. I do agree with you that there really is no substitute for the complex sounds and blending of an acoustic instrument, and subtle pedaling is not possible with an electronic instrument. There are, however, some excellent electronic keyboards available today that have nice sounds and actions. These can be a great way to go for many people. 🎹
@@goodcyrus a lot of companies make wonderful digital pianos that are very economical. Kawai, Yamaha, Roland, Casio (to name a few) make very good digital instruments that are more affordable when compared to most accoustic instruments. They are also much lighter and maneuverable -- great to pack away to visit friends or family. In addition, one can use headphones at night for the peace of others and you can choose from hundreds of instruments. I really enjoy playing the harpsichord and celesta on my Roland RP 102.
Hi Gina, thank you for your warm and wonderful words! I always love hearing from you and so appreciate your responses to this video. Liebesleid is one of my favorite pieces in the literature. My dad played the original Kreisler version on the violin when I was very young. It's in my deepest memories! 🎶
@@ginafazio318 Yes, he did! I grew up playing much of the violin and piano literature with him. These are among my most precious and treasured memories. 🙏 Much love to you, and a visit in person soon!

@@SallyChristianMusic Yes, things are going well for me. I am working hard in my classes. Right now I'm taking German, Musical Counterpoint, and Native American Studies. I'm also working on a research paper about Leonard Bernstein's "Mass," one of my all-time favorite works.
@@musicalintentions Thank you James for the exciting updates about your studies. The classes all sound wonderful, and your research paper on Bernstein's Mass sounds like a fascinating project! I look forward to reading it! 💫
'Mass' is one of my all-time favorite pieces. It's funny; the first time I heard excerpts on the radio many years ago I was bewildered. Now I have a much deeper appreciation for Bernstein the composer and teacher.
@@musicalintentions The Mass is truly an epic work with many many movements. I am familiar with the Simple Song and VI Gloria. Which movements do you resonate with the most? He was truly a pioneer as a composer, conductor, philosopher, and teacher.
