Hi Alex, loved your video, so comprehensive and detailed and I really appreciate the variety in your recommendations! I'm curious if you know how we should go about booking the classes/workshops you mentioned? Okinawa ceramics are so unique and I really want to attend a class/workshop but I can't seem to figure out how I should go about booking a spot or even just making enquiries.
Hi! Thank you so much for your comment, it means a lot! I haven't done this yet, but I see that you can make reservations online. I just searched 'pottery making workshop Tsuboya Okinawa" or in "Yomitan pottery village" and there were a few that came up that I can tell you about. Another option is to message ceramic studios and ask who they would recommend you do a pottery class with. You could even ask your hotel once you book something! When I search it, some that come up are: ikutouen in Naha. If you type in Ikutouen Tsuboya Okinawa, their website should come up and they have have a tab for experiences and classes. If you search for "tousingama" pottery classes, their website has several options (even making your own clay, kind of cool!) The one in Gala which I mentioned is tougeikoubou_ti_da1 on Instagram and it looks like you can inquire about their classes through the Gala website. I think the studio is called Ceramic art studio Tida. I hope this helps! If I do do a ceramic class I'll be sure to make a video about it :)
