I hate that you guys are having so many problems with such a beautiful new rig. Hopefully you can get the issues resolved and get back to true fun and real leisure! Thank you, Mike! 😊❤️ Yes, there is a hidden gem of a campground at Pohick Bay. Not only is it inexpensive but there's lots of activities for the entire family. We finally got the last of the repairs done on our Bounder! Now we only have to deal with normal maintenance items. Safe travels! ~Sherri and John
I'm pretty good at fixing AC. If I had to guess, the problem would be caused by a sticky contactor. a contactor is just a relay which allows a low voltage signal from the thermostat to turn on and off the high voltage (120 or 240 Volt AC) that runs the compressor. If it's anything like residential AC, the thermostat sends a 24 Volt AC signal to the compressor on a yellow wire which generates a magnetic field that pulls in a switch that allows the high voltage to flow to the compressor. Sometimes bugs get in there and it prevents the free movement of the magnetically operated switch. Of course, it could be something else, like a broken thermostat or a short. It wouldn't hurt to have a multimeter and a non-contact voltage sensor (that beeps when you put it next to a wire carrying 120V or 240 V AC voltage.
Every time I hear "Pohick" my brain thinks "Poor hick." When I moved into my dorm as a freshmen at Maryland my new roommate from NY started laughing at the way I talked and called me a "hick." Somehow, I spent my entire life up to that point being a hick but never hearing the word "hick." From that day until the end of my freshmen year I heard the word hick every day.

Yes, he did. Turns out the cord is to add an optional solar panel to the AC.
