I played with him for about an hour or so and have to say that he is the best Superman Figure (Not inclduding Hot Toys and such) ever produced and byfar my new favorite. Just got word that they are doing a Green Lantern vs Yellow Lantern Predator for NYCC!! Super excited to see him as the Predator looks great! Yellow Lantern Predator!!

I wish the second head was Superman's head with a face hugger attached to it instead of the growling heat vision face. I will probably mod mine and give him a raised "S" shield on his chest, and mod the second head and give it s face hugger. LOL- I keep editing this comment... sigh. Brad! The Xenomorph has the extender mouth thing! The thing it used to kill Yaphet Kotto in the movie Alien.
Initially I was going to get this set for Superman and sell the Alien. But then I got figures from the Metroid video games. Since Metroid was heavily inspired by Alien, I started army building the Aliens. So now I need both of these 😂😂
Brad. I bet if you heat up that belt piece with hot water you’ll be able to straighten it out. Or it may take it’s proper shape on its own when heated.
I really wanted this and the Batman Predator set. But I guess I completley missed them. Are they basically gone for good? Or does NECA ever reproduce their exclusives?
The toe articulation is stuck on both feet on my figure. Plus the left bicep is stuck and will not rotate outward. Very disappointed in mine as far as poor quality control in the articulation.
I know this is an old post but gotta ask. Have you tried putting a custom cape on that supes or know anyone who has? Seems possible. I got one recently and love it. Great in design and look. Not so great in the execution.
Great review as always. Regarding this superman, I really am on the fence. The price on ebay went through the roof, and honestly I don't think it's worth that much. This superman with this costume and kind of pose has been done to exhaustion. The colors. The trunks. The headsculpt. It is nothing new. There's lots of DC direct, DC collectibles and Mattel Supermen that easily make this one expendable. I think I'll pass on this one. I would have loved a Superman in Reborn costume down the road. We nearly had it with DC essentials.
I disagree. I don't see how this (Neca Superman) is better than the DC Essentials Superman. This Superman from Neca can't even look up. And that's just one point.
I like the sculpt and body proportions of this one bettering. This one also doesn't have weak loose ankles and is also nicely shaded in the muscles. The Essentials is a good figure but in my honest opinion just isn't as good. I appreciate your disagreement though because we all have our own valid thoughts and viewspoints.
Brad that’s a tough pill to swallow. It’s definitely one of the better articulated Superman but that face is pretty atrocious. It’s extremely squatty...the jaw looks like it’s shaped like an iron and it’s not aesthetically pleasing especially in that shot next to the Christopher Reeve Superman. Based on your review the quality seemed pretty spotty not good at all. Anyway thanks for your review I will definitely be passing on it :-)
I've looked at a bunch of these now and mine seems to be the worst for mess ups. The rest look OK. I agree though, this face sculpt, even when not misshapen on one side, isn't for everyone. I'm going to dona head swap with one.

The way NECA handled these DC figures makes me wish they would make many many more. The sculpt and articulation are out of this world!

There are some pics of the classic Mezco Superman head on this NECA body and wow together it is stunning!

I believe the Alien is the new mold for Alien Resurrection, but in black, to resemble the “iconic” look more.

My Galactic He-Man also has that odd jawline sticking out. Not sure if it was every figure or just mine.

They can't reproduce these because of licencing issues. SDCC and the preorder were the only places to get them.

Head sculpt is bad imo. It looks way to cartoonish and exaggerated. Hopefully mcfarlane comes through with something better.
