- Jason with Hydrus Board Tech showing you how to repair inflatable paddle boards.
Tools needed:
Repair kit that comes with your Hydrus Board (should come with any decent board).
Out of that repair kit you’ll need the *cement *patch material. In addition you’ll need *150-200 grit sandpaper *clamp *rubbing alcohol *masking tape *pencil and a *wooden paint stick or something to press the patch onto the board prior to clamping.
Tips:
1.make sure to keep the patch and board completely clean from dust, or residue or and oils.
2. Use cement as directed. For the cement that comes in the repair kit with a Hydrus board you’ll want to apply liberally to both surfaces the wait approx. 15-30 seconds before pressing together. The patch should stick to the board without being help in place at this point.
3. Use masking tape to keep the area around the patch clean.
4. Let the board sit approx. 36 hours before use.
ALWAYS round the corners of your patch.
Yes, very wise. Get rid of sharp edges that can be more prone to catch and peel
My board didn't come with any kind of adhesive, is there a brand you'd recommend? And how do you repair when it's the seam that popped and the entire board is deflated?
Great tutorial, thanks for specifying the type of cement/glue to use. I personally round the corners of any patch, as corners can catch and eventually start to peel 🙂
Dude, great job on the tutorial! THANK YOU!!
Exactly what I needed, thanks man!
If I send you my SUP would you consider repairing it? It has a large hole around the bottom center fin that I tried repairing but failed miserably!
Hey, sorry. We can't repair other brands. Different materials and construction gets a little tricky and messy for us. Don't have the bandwidth. More than happy to give advice however. Please feel free to reach out! We are hear to help as much as we can. happy paddling.
Mine did not come with cement or anything to make the patch stick. Lol
Hey i have an inflatable sup that needs repair on the part connecting the surfleash. Wondering if you can fix mine. Love my board. Dont wanna buy a new one
Hey, thanks for reaching out. Maybe do a Google search for your area. Wish I could be a bigger help, but we don't have the capacity to repair other boards. I'd be happy to give advice if you have specific questions and are trying to fix your own board otherwise, there has gotta be a shop that repairs nearby.
please, any commercial link to that kind glue?
what if the leak is half an inch from a seam? can i putch the patch over a seam?
Appreciate the instructions, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Good Video
Glad you enjoyed
I just found a puncture in my board, but it’s in the foam part on the top. Any tips for repairing that area of a inflatable paddle board?
You would have to find the actual puncture spot underneath the foam first.
the air might leak from somewhere else through the foam.
I suggest carefully removing the foam - patch the punctured spot - then glueing the foam back on if necessary
Hope that helps.
@@redwarf8118 Pulled back the foam (I didn’t think was possible) found the puncture and patched it, then glued the foam back down. Worked mint! Thanks
Great!!
yup. This is correct!
Appreciate the tutorial!! Thank you.
But how do you patch a puncture through the deck padding???
Hey, yeah. You'll have to carefully remove the traction pad in that area. That makes it more difficult but it's possible.
@@hydrusboardtech6372Hello, I have a hole in my board that's 6 cm long and 0,5 cm wide. Is it worth patching?
Could you do a video for a hole under the foam part on top please.
THANK YOU SOOO MUCH FOR THIS
Saguaro Lake?? 🤔
Really - where the heck is that? I want to paddle board there.
@@travelguy1564 I guess not, then lol Sorry, could’ve sworn you were paddling at Saguaro (here in the Phoenix area) 🙂
that's crazy you recognized it from that short clip. You're right. Angela and I were down there for a long weekend and paddled Saguaro Lake a couple of days. It's beautiful!!
@@hydrusboardtech6372 Glad to know I wasn't crazy lol I used to spend entirely too much time out there boating. You should try Canyon Lake next to it next time. It's even more beautiful.
I have multiple holes, like 50. Can i smeat HH66 all over it ?
Probably not 😂
@@igamehackshelperi have pin holes around seams. What should i do ? Idk, its flat in 25 min
What if its all along the seams? Or in the valve?
My SUP blew up today perfectly along the seam, detaching at the factory connection. It's a 20cm tear, and I am not sure if anything can fix it 😢 It's a costly Naish SUP and not in the 1000 years I would expect this to happen!
@pantelisdemetrioable I'm hearing flex seal tape and vinyl cement glue may fix it... check out the reviews for people who have tried that method

Great vidthanks!
Question: how inflated is the board?i mean, how much psi?
I noticed the board is getting flat as you fix it.
I fixed my board but had to do it twice, 'cose it was still leaking.
I think i did it on full flat, and that could be why...
Thanks
didn't expect to see one of your boards leak. considering the newly reinvented welded seams. Makes me scared to buy one now.
stay scared, nothing is safe ;)
just kidding
This is a 4+ year old board. No need to be scared :) As much as we try to make boards perfect, In manufacturing things happen, we always take care of our customers, if they do!!
Is there any hope for a cracked main fin mount? 😢
Yes!!! Absolutely! Royal pain in the rear to fix it but there is a way and hope!! :). Hit us up and I'd be happy to help, however possible.
seems like a lot of work. why not just use that big thick paint they sell at Home Depot to fix leaks in gutters and pipes?
Are you serious?
@@ewganhoff yeah why not? Flex Seal
Because even if flex seal would hold up to the PSI in your board (it wouldn’t) the first time you brush against anything tougher than sand that seal is toast.
True that!
Tried it. He's 100 pct right on the result. Zero effect. Just makes a mess. All the dirt sticks to everthing. I have multiple holes, can i smear HH66 all over it ?
