No problem with install. This is the easiest car seat install I have ever done. My one year old loves it and doesn’t fuss at all while in it. Huge pro if you ask me.
Fits perfectly rear-facing in our truck, which has a slightly smaller back seats. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx6_FKRYB2ClSPRyjcd8HptiCS3EiQoNX4 Feels as comfy and plush as our Graco Contender carseat
I have worked with several car seats and this is the only one I found that I can remove the cover from the seat without having to unbuckle it from my car or take off the safety tether so that I can wash the cover without having to totally disassemble it from my vehicle.
We are newbies who have not used a car seat in quite a few years. Last night it took my teenage son and I about 5 mins to install this new car seat in the back seat of a pick up. My son is very tall which made everything easier. We put it in the middle seat position, forward facing. We used the tether strap and the vehicle's locking seat belt. He got inside and used all his weight to push down on the seat while he pulled tight on the seat belt. It was so simple and quick. I have not used the car seat yet, but I was adjusting the straps and the height of the headrest all very smoothly and easily. I cannot wait to use this for the first time. We are very, very happy with our purchase.
I am not sure how qualified you are to be doing these kind of reviews when you don't even know how to put the little pads on the shoulder straps. I can see they are put on backwards. Luckily I bought this car seat because I saw all the wonderful reviews on the store website saying how easy it was to install and use.
The most incredible seat that I've ever seen. All my family loves it
I LOVE mine! I’ve never used the latch’s because I have to take the seat out often but I have no problem reinstalling it. And I got this seat after my child Learned how the sit by himself so the level was no big deal for me. I have 0 issues with this seat and I highly recommend it! ☺️
This review had me really worried about the install, but it was pretty easy to get a tight forward facing fit in my Rav4. I used the belt instead of the latch method. Just have to make sure you're using the seatbelt lock.
You hit the nail on the head! I've had this one since my son was out of the baby carrier seat. I love the seat for the comfort but hate the seat. Installation is the absolute worst and I cannot get it to fit properly!
We love this car seat. I am able to install it myself. I click it in place then kneel on the chair and tighten. We have had it for 5 years and are finally using the booster seat feature. Surprised you had such a hard time on install. I guess everyone and all vehicles are different. So easy to wash!! I also like that it is hard to unbuckle. My other kids would unbuckle their Britax car seats while I was driving! I would have to pull over and buckle them back up. This one is sturdy and has been great!!
I had no problems for install, we are really happy for choose this car seat
I live in NYC and don't have a car so I've installed this car seat in many cabs and cars with no issue. I can do it so easily it's really no problem. My issue is the recline. Putting it in position 1 for my toddler has it so upright he's leaning fwd so I keep it back and he's more comfortable.
I was finally able to get this installed on my own! Hope this helps somebody.
Forward-facing latch installation in 2006 Chrysler Town and Country
:
1.
Tilt the middle bench back.
2.
Tilt the driver or passenger seat forward, depending on where you are installing.
3.
Place the carseat in the corresponding seat in the middle bench.
4.
Push the carseat forward toward the back of the middle bench.
5.
Slide the part of the lower anchor belt that has the adjuster through the rear-facing belt path.
6.
Latch the end of the lower anchor belt that does NOT have the adjuster to the appropriate anchor hook.
7.
Now on the end of the lower anchor belt that DOES have the adjuster, tighten firmly and latch to the appropriate anchor hook.
8.
Take the slack/free end of the belt and pass it back through the rear-facing belt path. Pull to tighten.
9.
To continue tightening, place your knee/bodyweight to push the carseat down and continue to pull the belt to tighten.
10.
Once tightened, raise the middle bench back to normal upright position. The front of the carseat will be protruding into the back cushion of the middle bench.
11.
Try moving the carseat around, it should be secure.
Trick for getting it tightened with LATCH. Thread the pulling strap up through the car seat between the cup holder and the fabric on the inside part of the seat. This helped me pull straight up instead of out at an angle. You also have to put a fair bit of weight down on the seat.
I just got this for my son who’s 13 months. I was finally able to get it tightened. I had to do a bit of trickery because of the angle of the tightening action with the LATCH system. I have no idea how you can use this with a car’s seatbelt. His old car seat base was great, Graco, because it matched down the car’s seatbelt.
We’ll see how it goes and if mine loosens up too.
I’ve had this seat for about 4 years. Everything you said, plus it tips very easily when doing a seatbelt install which makes me nervous to use it as a booster for me son. The head rest adjusters also rattle if they’re above the main shell of the seat.
Yes this lady is right; installing this seat is not easy; it is hard to tighten the straps properly.
I didnt hv trouble installing as it was similar to one i had before. U hv to kneel a knee or 2 in seat to pull side latch tighter but still not 100 % tight but 95 %
This car seat sucks when trying to get it installed. Wiggles around no matter what half the rime
I loved the carseat. My only complaint is I'm not transitioning to the booster and getting the straps out is proving difficult. But install in the vehicle was no problem. Use was no problem, etc.
The padding in the harness is backwards and could affect getting baby properly harnessed with chest clip at armpit level.
Personal use - this seat is not hard to install. I have transferred it between 3 cars for 3 years and find it very easy if you read the manual as you are supposed to. I have also never had a problem with the LATCH becoming loose. If this is an issue - seatbelt install is just as safe.
What i did for mine in my car is this : rear facing i used the tighten the latch and pray method. It’s easier to tighten when not latched to the anchors at all . Yes it’s a pain to guess but once you get the right length you use all your non existent mommy arm strength to pinch onto the anchors. They need to get better anchor clips for sure! Do not reccomend this seat if you have hand muscle issues you’ll be in pain. now I’m glad i read people’s experiences with the seatbelt method so i know to never do it.
I feel like it works better on pick up trucks I have one for my 2 year old and I have never had any problems with it,I absolutely love it the safety that it has and everything
I need a video with the strap placement. I cannot get mine back together correctly
Great review, thank you
I'm a car seat tech and stuggled with the rear facing LATCH installation on leather seats. Gave up and used seat belt. Terrible design.
I hate how you have to raise the headrest. It’s very difficult in a small car and they’re very stiff, so it’s a stressful design all together.
I had 3 ppl help to finally get it in rear facing. I have a jeep fyi, and Its difficult!! Especially being a small person and no upper strength. They need to fix that! A
I had my 9 month old in this car seat. I heard her groining while in mid traffic and I turned to see her and the car seat completely on its side. I freaked out but thank God I got the seat back up in sitting position and I held the seat up with one arm while driving the rest of the way with the other arm
This happened to me too with my 9 month old!
I’m having the same trouble with this car seat and I’ve had it almost two years. The straps are getting increasingly difficult to tighten and loosen, and when I try to install it with the seatbelt it tilts over. My child is nearing the weight limit for the latch system and I’ll have to figure out how to use the seatbelt installation, or buy a new seat. Very frustrating.
We bought this last week and you mentioned all the points correct. Except i have 1 more issue i.e. the adjustable head rest is making rattling sounds.
I just noticed that yesterday. Driving to work with the newly but not fully installed (not right enough) and one of those two plastic knobs was rattling. Drove me nuts, so I stuck a glove there to prevent the contact
Not very pleased with this car seat. I experienced several of the same problems, we are also looking for another car seat to replace this
I was just thinking about getting this one now I’m not sure I subscribed and will check out your other reviews but which one do you believe will be a good one my baby boy will be 1 year old on August 28th and he definitely needs a new seat now I want one that will grow with him from this point on
For a fast-growing toddler, what are some of the easiest straps to adjust? I'm a grandma who has an 8 yr old car seat that's been through 2 older boys as well. I'm ready for an upgrade, thought about getting a swivel seat to be easier on my bad back, but no one is talking about easily adjustable straps. Is there a rotational that also makes strap adjustment simple? If not, intuitive straps are more important. Thank you
I can’t seem to tighten it to stay secure
I love this car seat but I had it installed by the fire department to make sure I had it right.
I wish I watched your video before I bought the car seat. I’m not a fan of it at all
How do you adjust the freaking straps
it is weird, I could install this car seat in my SUV, but in a sedan I could not, bought two of them, exact same model, but one I could and the other one is always loose
Am returning this car seat just bought it few days ago ND my baby head keep falling off whenever she's sleeping it's so scary when u driving just to lok back ND ur baby neck is dangling of the car seat while sleeping.. its not cool ND not safe..
I have the same issues And would not recommend this car seat.
I currently have this car seat and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to prop it up more, when I pull on the recline latch thing nothing happen no matter how hard I tug
When baby is a little over 1 year old and faces forward does it still has to be inclined the same way like rear facing or straight ?
Can we buy a stroller separately ?
Also having problems getting tight instal
How do you take all the fabrications
I need help setting this up
Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. Got this thing as back up. Wouldn’t give it to my worst enemy.
What's wrong with it?
Yes, what's wrong with it?
YEAH! What’s wrong with it? How the heck are you gonna just type that with no justification behind it?! 😒🙄😑
Where is the recline button??
Sorry if this is late, but the recline is on the bottom, there is a latch you pull up on
Is the seat supposed to be wobbly even after I latched it in in rear facong position?
Paul Snay that’s how mine is as well!
Mine too I hate it
This is the WORST SEAT EVER…Install is terrible and I look back and the whole seat is on its side when I was driving home…
When you said “yes there are some” made me decide not to buy this.
Does anyone know which stroller this is compatible with ?
It’s not. Only infant carriers can be compatible with car seats
It’s too heavy
I hate it
Not safe do not buy
I hate this car seat don’t buy it
All car seats including this one are garbage.
The issue is the front bottom portion of car seats are not anchored so it will wiggle and be unstable.
It's basic engineering. Imagine securing the top of something.
The bottom will wiggle.
the latch installation SUCKS. do not buy this thing.
Salty I wasted time watching this. Helped, not at all
It’s not rocket science 😂 you obviously need a new husband because boy sounds like a clown 🤡
🤭🥴😂🤣
I actually love it
Anyone know how to switch the recline the of the seat between 1 and 2 while instead forward facing ?
