I just had this done to me today, and because it was foreign to me I got scared, but I only felt pressure as if they were filling your body up with something, like in the Matrix and you thought you were drawning and pulling you in different directions. At one point they did ask me if I wanted to call the Ambulance and I said no is not that bad, is pressure, slight headache, dizzy and at the end, you can taste the metal. It wasn't an awful experience at all, but it wasn't roses either, but no pain at all!

WELL THAT'S NOT WHAT MY "5 PART NUCLEAR TEST WILL BE. IT TAKES 5 HOURS. !!!
      I'M NOT HAVING IT !!!
I SAW A NEW CARDIOLOGIST FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES ABOUT 5 MONTHS AGO NOW.

I TOLD HIM THAT I HAVE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE AND I WAS GOING TO HAVE SURGERY FOR A HERNIA.
WORKING ON THE BLOOD PRESSURE WITH DEEP BREATHING EXERCISES ( A LOT OF GREAT YT VIDEOS WERE GREAT WITH EASY GREAT VARIANCES !!! KNOCKS BP DOWN A FEW NUMBERS IN A SHORT TIME. DO THE EXERCISES DAILY, MORE THAN ONCE OR TWICE) FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES EACH UNTIL YOUR BP DROPS DOWN.

SO, I CALLED THE OFFICE OF THE CARDIOLOGIST AND WAS TOLD THAT THE CARDIO DOCTOR CONTACTED THE SURGEON WHO WAS GOING TO DO THE HERNIA OPERATION AND BOTH WANTED THE "5 HOUR NUCLEAR TEST !!!"
YOU WOULD THINK THAT TH NEW CARDIOLOGIST WHO ONLY SAW ME FOR ABOUT 15 TO 20 MINUTES SHOULD HAVE CALLED ME AND EXPLAINED THE PROCEDURE TO ME !!!
I WANT THE HARMLESS "HALTER DONE FIRST AND SEE WHAT THE RESULT WAS !!!
I HAVE BEEN SITTING ON THIS FOR SEVERAL WEEKS. NO CALL FROM ANYONE !!!
VERY UNHAPPY AND DISAPPOINTED WITH EVERYONE.
PROBABLY WILL BE LOOKING FOR A NEW CARDIOLOGIST AND TALKING TO A HEART SPECIALIST WHO HAS GREAT SUCCESS WITH ADJUSTING MY MINERALS, VITAMINS ETC.
I KNOW I HAVE NO VITAMIN D AND OTHER THINGS THAT NEED TO BE BALANCED !!! LOOK UP THE VARIOUS VIDEOS ON YT !!!

@@jullz1000 hi I wrote down a brief synopsis of what happened and how I felt it should be on here somewhere I answered a question from a little hummingbird. I'm 72 I spent a year in Vietnam as an infantry man, I've been involved in an auto accident that killed two people, I shot and killed a good friend of mine who was out of his mind and drew a weapon on me and I knew he was going to kill me. So many other things I could tell you but nothing ever scared me like what happened at that nuclear stress test at the veterans hospital in Phoenix. once I got my ability to breathe back which probably was less than a few seconds I am mediately broke down and cried because now I know how my father felt when he died of a massive heart attack and he was clutching his chest. when this happened to me it took away my ability to do anything for myself! I could not inhale or exhale the panic was overpowering and the horrible feeling of pending doom took over. if you can imagine for a minute your heart stops your lungs freeze and you are scared out of your mind! You don't know if you're going to be able to breathe again or if your heart is never going to beat again just in that few seconds you are no longer in control of anything but riding down to your death. I I was crying uncontrollably inside I was praying to God and I let him know that I understand now he truly is in charge of every beat that my heart produces an every breath of air my lungs draw in. The table beside me had a towel and on the towel were four or five syringes with various drugs. It takes about two hours before you actually go in for your stress test because you have to have a pet scan and MRI scan you have to drink a lot of water and then they give you the shot and then they hand you off to the room that has the cardiologist the nurse and the technician. I get sick just thinking about this I hope when it's my turn to die I get some kind of long-range cancer so I can go out on the town maybe travel a little bit maybe smoke some of my grand children's marijuana. you know kind of like when the curtains go down in the orchestra slowly fades... not like this! Not like a boa constrictor wrapping around your chest and crushing everything you have and you can't get away and you can't get away! can't 😱 scream 😱!

I was only injected once with the nuclear tracer. Is this cause for concern inregards to accuracy?

I only had one and there was no wait time so I am wondering the same thing. I was done in an hour, so I am now very confused. Maybe that means I passed with flying colors?

Yeah, I can't tolerate the injection version at all. I did it once and I had to leave from the reaction.
About the one I have been able to do, is called the stress echo. That was 10 minutes treadmill and ten minutes echo gram.

Where is the lead shield for RP?

The initial medication that was injected IV, (from the red, lead lined transportation container) is a slightly radioactive material. The two big plates on the table, senses gamma radiation. They are only receivers, that scan the heart for the radioactive material. It’s not like an x-ray or CAT scan with a radioactive generator and receiver.

This was not an accurate description of of a Stress test. While the patient is on the treadmill, blood pressures must be taken during each stage. They should have an Exercise Physiologist not a Respiratory Therapist performing the test.

For the purpose of the video I think it did well. This is an informative video that introduces patients to the procedures, but doesn’t get bogged down with the nitty gritty.

As a woman going in for this test, I’ve been told a bra cannot be worn for the treadmill portion of this procedure. Due to size, I cannot run without a bra and do not want to take the injection that forces heart rate up. Due to size, I need underwire in bra. A bra with no underwire offers no support and I won’t be able to run without excruciating pain. Has anyone else experienced this? Thank you.

Why is a Respiratory Therapist running the test??? He has no idea what he’s talking about.
