A nice ride with the usual competition with another train from Leiden Central onwards. How often do trains compete with each other at this section? Your route to Den Haag was also different from Amsterdam as you normally take the route to Den Haag via Schipole Airport and Hoofddorp but instead took it via Harlem. I did notice one thing though. Leiden Central was unusually crowded unlike the other stations which were not so populated despite the precautionary measures in place which are needed to be followed in the wake of Corona.
Measures were not strict at that time. You will see less and less people during next videos. Stop services ride the short route via Schiphol, intercity's travell via Haarlem because there is no room for them between Amsterdam and Schiphol - this is since the Intercity Direct runs.
Another nice ride with a "race" in the middle. Of course, it was not really a race. The outcome was preordained by schedules. But it was interesting to ride along side another train. I've been noticing that Leiden always seems to have a huge crowed to board trains even on some of the more recent videos I've seen with most stations deserted or with maybe one or two passengers far apart from each other. What is the reason Leiden seems to have so much travel? That seems like an expensive way to commute to and from work unless somebody else pays for it. {^__}
@@CabviewHolland Being a bit cynical and a punny person I note the universities there see it as "bullions" of students. Commuting by train must be remarkably cheap! {^_-}

just wanted to confirm if I may, think I was advised about this but dont remember right now, but if the power goes out wherever one of these trains are located, the train would just stop dead on the track, meaning these dont have anything in the way of backup power systems to actually them going if this actually happens????

The train will coast on, to the next section whete there will be power. Trains have batteries for lighting and all other systems. So not a problem.
