My husband has used Budesonide for his COPD and it works. This doctor thought outside-the-box and he found something that helps. Amazing.

@Papa Jose It's an anti-inflammatory; therefore, it arrests the Cytokine storm immune response process when the body is fighting SARS-CoV2. It is not an imuno-suppressant, so the person's body still keeps killing the virus. It will not work for a cold or flu infection. It stops the inflammation, which is that with which COVID kills.

I took these breathing treatments ( nebulizer ) back in November and after two days I felt 100% better. I borrowed my sisters machine when she suggested it might help get rid of my cough that I had for two weeks. I’m convinced I had COVID-19 as my doctor had diagnosed me with severe bronchitis and the prescriptions did not help. Two days on the nebulizer and I was good to go. This doctor is on to something.
Nebulizers do help. I have chronic asthma and I'm sure I had covid at one point and within a few days of being on the nebulizer I was nearly at 100% again.

They killed my uncle today. The hospital is responsible. He was taking budesonide and was doing better, they stopped giving it to him today and he died. I'm in shock, these hospitals are *all* up to something.

I can't believe this isn't the first line treatment for covid patients already. Early research in China suggested that this was successful for treatment in Covid. I remember it being said back in January.
There's some other medical research going on that gives some limited support to at least some corticosteroids having positive impacts on COVID19 patients.

Everything the doctors are telling us is 'opinion'. If they are good doctors, that opinion is based on experience. I believe this doctor over 'researchers' or politicians who tell us 'facts' that have no actual basis in fact.
I hope this gets researched quickly and objectively; however, Medcram video update 94 (around the 3:30 timemark) states that the inhaled steroid CICLESONIDE worked better than BUDESONIDE--just sharing. However, maybe it's the combination this doctor is using that is the difference.
It does bother and concern me that a lot of information is being suppressed. I used to think that I lived in a free country with an open exchange of opinions/ideas, but I have seen things disappear off the internet--very scary . . .

Yes I saw that episode of MedCram and was wondering why the news wasn't covering it. The aerosolized virus is now known to hang in the air but that is only just hitting the news. Practically no one is wearing masks at my local shopping center. Our shire is locked down. Melbourne (Australia) is locked down. Few people know about the virus attacking the linings of the arterial system and causing blood clots.
I'm wondering how many other deaths attributed to stroke and heart attacks will eventually be understood to be caused by COVID-19 ....

I also suspect the majority of Taiwanese residents, even the elderly ones, are considerably healthier than their American counterparts.

So, taking steroids suppresses your immune system. IF you take steroids before you catch the virus or too early after you catch the virus, there is an increased chance that your immune system cannot fight off the virus at all.
Steroids help for inflammatory problems AFTER the infection is on its way out because your immune system is so ramped up. So, doctors give people steroids at that specific period and it helps prevent inflammation and prevents your immune system from damaging yourself.
So, how could it hurt? Well you could die, thats all.

WHO has been promoting research into steroids, including inhaled steroids like this one, since April. There are some studies already available to doctors. Not sure if this doctor saw something and decided to try this particular steroid. Apparently so far some of them are more effective than others.

The best prophylactic I've seen doctors mention is overall good health - diet, activity, rest - allied with social distancing practices.

To make assumptions based on 12 people and then release as a fact is not valid scientific proof.
I have read many articles that state atomization of medications (like nebulizer treatments ) are contraindicated due to the particles being suspended in air and thus posing a larger contamination possibility. In the ER where I work we are only using inhalers not nebs for this reason, unless the pt is on a closed circuit such as on a ventilator.

Unless you are using a very atypical air pump to feed the nebulizer the air is heavily filtered. I have one for COPD Nebulizer treatments. The air pump is the only source of outside air, and all of the air it compresses is pre-filtered through a high density filter that is replaced as needed.

This treatment is what is called "the happy hypoxic" I helps the walking talking person who is a little uncomfortable. For critical patients this treatment would be like giving Shamu a tick tack. The reason its taken off of website is because ER doctors with real experience with Covid 19 patients know how steroid treatment is not a cure. We in Hong Kong discovered that 10 yrs ago when dealing with SARS patients. Shame on this doctor he should know better. Or perhaps he just knows his audience are ready for anything.
So when did anyone say it was a cure ? By the time you get to the ER it is too late for this drug. One of his patients was in bed with a fever for five days. So you are telling me not to treat my covid till I'm about dead.

Study up a little more on early treatment regimes in NY and treatments during a "Cytokine Storm". Here in Hong Kong during SARS last decade we realized Steroid treatment in SARS-CoV actually complicated some cases that developed into a "storm" situation with the exaggerated rebound effect after Steroid treatment.
