Hi Davie, You are a “force of nature” … I’ve never seen the art of creating a multi-coloured wing before …amazing to see you do this. A very unusual looking fly pattern indeed, best regards, Wayne 😀👍

Great to see the wing marrying procedure - love to see the classic wet flies. I've been adapting several of your caddis patterns in anticipation of our Penns Creek Grannom hatch here in central Pennsylvania - only about 16 weeks to wait! Thanks so much for the great videos Davie - I encourage our TU Chapter's fly tying students to view them if they want to learn from a master.

Davie, from an artistic aspect this may be the best colored and prettiest fly you've tied. I especially enjoyed the construction of the layered wings using the tiniest of feathers and hackles. Sir, you're a master!

Great Fly. I have married very few wings in the past. Watching you do it has inspired me to do more. Thanks for another wonderful post.
I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday season.

Davie. . . I've been a fan for a long time. Like Bob Fowler's comments, I glean something from each video. I've never been successful at marrying wing material. This is an excellent technique that all tiers should try!

Every time I watch one of your videos I learn something new - latest? Patience in applying each step, and if I don't like it, remove it and try again. Sounds easy but a tough lesson to apply. Thanks

wow your videos are very well made. I have tied four jigs without a vice. I pulled in a 24" Largemouth bass on one and hits on my most recent one until the hook broke. I am planning on get a vice and your videos are giving me many thoughts. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.!

When you fish a wet in the states, people look at you funny. What they don't realize is that sometimes (in New England) it is the only presentation option you have.

  • @seanmooney3907

Davie, I understood to make a pair of wings, you needed a quill from either side of the bird. Is it okay to use one goose quill of each color and get the right and left from either side of the same feather. I mean right and left of the stem? I have been pairing up right and left primary and secondary feathers. But in this video it seems you are using the same feather from both sides of the stem. Thanks for your time in answering all my questions. All the best, Sean

Hey Davie, I tied a white, red and black married wing. The wing married perfectly, but when I tied it on the top bent over slightly, and try as I might i couldn't tie it in without the top bending. It came out pretty good since I have never tried to tie anything like this before and I have only been tying for a few weeks. I would really like to do on where the wing stands up correctly. Any suggestions??
