  • Filmed in 2015. This Slaters Menswear shop is located at the Promenade, on the opposite side of Cavendish House but a little further up. We were walking past it and I noticed that there was a lift located a couple of metres from the entrance so that was when I decided to ride it. The main shop itself is located on the 1st floor via the rear door of the lift, with the ground floor being the entrance/exit level. The lift is a Morris Vermaport hydraulic which looks to have possibly been installed in the early 2000's. It's a bog-standard lift with nothing fancy to it, apart from the plaid carpet which matches the rest of the shop, and the fact that the door tracks look like a Schindler's. And for some reason I had a bit of a meltdown while saying "as you may see"... lol XD

Looks alright. I believe that's a CEAM lift, based on the indicator and button componentry. I'd love to find out the brand of those doors (the ones that make that "handbrake" noise at the end of opening/closing); seen them on a whole smorgasbord of different lifts but idk who makes them.
That tartan carpet is very interesting; fun fact only a day ago I rode an OTIS Europa with a carpet like that, though that one was mainly grey.
