I would have to imagine that the value comes when its midsummer and there is long green rough. I think they are supposed to make the white stand out from the green grass.
Matt, I thought you were kidding when you teed off with these glasses. They are not for normal use. They should be used when only searching for a ball. I have an older pair of these and they do work well. They work much better when the sun is out as the lenses are tinted in such a way that it makes the golf ball appear brighter with the sunlight reflecting off of it. They work well when a golfer is searching for a ball in deep rough or in the fall months when there are leaves on the ground. As long as some part of a golf ball is visable, these are pretty good. They aren't one hundred percent, but they will save you a ball or two if you're someone who has trouble hitting the fairway.
I actually have a pair. They're supposed to be used on a bright sunny day. They do contrast the glare to a bright blue. They also work better than sunglasses.
glasses work ok, but if you really want to clean house at your local course, try a UV light at night. I went out 3 times to two different courses in the fall of 2020, must have found over 100 balls looking near water, high brush and rough. Best $10 on Amazon I ever spent. Just don't get caught trespassing lol
i used the BluRay glasses years ago and they would highlight the green grass & white balls. Worked well. Player ahead of you was wearing the same glasses and found ALL the balls before you :-)
Just watched your vid lmao. Reminds me when I was very young about the x-ray glasses you could buy in a magazine lmao. Love all your vids keep them rollin.😂😂
My wife gave me a pair a couple of years ago and I never found a lost ball (only used them after I had looked without glasses). Waste of $$$. Good review.
I have a set in my bag. Pull them out maybe 2 or 3 times a year. You wind up in really tall grass, pickle weed or bushes, it definitely helps. But that's all they're for, finding a ball you can't find otherwise. They're not xray-vision or radar and beyond about 10 yards, they're worthless. Anytime I put them on and peer into bushes, I always find a ball. Just not always mine.
I’ve had a pair for a few years. I would never try to hit with them on. If it’s really Sunny outside, the ball will glow. Well it does with mine. But, the shade really makes a difference.
Thanks for your ball finding glasses. I was sure hoping they would really work coz I lose a lot of balls - maybe I need to find a dog that would find them. haha. It was a funny video. It's like so many of the bogus golf training aids. At least they were not a $100 bucks.
I wouldn't use / wear the glasses but the video sure made my morning. You are certainly entertaining. :) And you struck the ball well and that was good to see!
I would think that any filter that adds or eliminates a color will result in a contrast (adding blue to green would make white "pop" more.) However, if the background colosr is similar to the color of the object (let's say white ball in dry beige grass on the edge of the rough), probably not going to work. For a few dollars (not $20) something that helps find it in the fairway or on the edge might help (especially when trying to keep the pace of play).
I couldve sworn those glasses were to be worn at night in the dark with a flashlight and the white reflection from the ball makes them super visible at night
Oh man, the club direction at the top of your 2:20 swing 😬 I see that crossover move you’ve been trying to fix creeping back in! (And I didn’t need the blue blockers to spot it either)
Where I live courses tend to have higher grass outside the fairways. It can take 4 players a little time to find one ball. The blue glasses really work. In taller grass. I didn't see any turf higher than a ball in this video.
Don't think the glasses will work for me with my eyesight but a uv torch is brilliant finding balls especially in the dark give that a go free golf balls for life
I purchased a similar pair of blue glasses and never hit with them on. The ball definitely stands out when everything is green, however, if the sun is shining other objects like leaves pop out too. They are worth $20 though.
Maybe on sunny days they would stand out more while wearing them but I like using the callaway superhot bold in yellow or green because of how much they stand out especially on sunny days
I can see the possibility of the blue darkening the background to emphaasize the white, but cloudy weather would hurt the process. I do know that good polarized sunglasses hurt your chances of finding your ball because they cut the glare normally reflected off the ball. And at our course, if you try the "hot" yellow balls during dandelion season, make some deal with your buddies for dropping for free in the general area where it landed!!!
Very true -- I often look for the ball by taking off my UV sunglasses (when I know I'm in the vicinity and the ball is not easily spotted) with more success. Even in the fairway (especially a wide area) it's easy to overlook (miss) the ball when wearing UV's
You could always buy a powerful UV torch with yellow goggles for UV protection for the eyes they will find golf balls. We used to find heaps when we were kids the only drawback is that they only work at night. But we did end up with a bucket full of golf balls.
You sir, are an entertainer...I enjoy this video and wanting to see if it really works so I can buy for my wife. She’s always asking me to find her balls.
Matt is always good for a laugh during covid. My friend told me that if you need glasses to find your balls then they're either way to small or you have yet to grow a pair. 😂🤣 We can always count on you for the latest gadgets and gimmicks. Might have to call you "Mr. Gadget".
Not convinced by these. But, like others have said in the comments, a UV torch is fantastic for finding balls when it's dark. Obviously not much use when you are actually playing though.
I’ve had ball finding glasses for a long time. I rarely pull them out, the white does pop on sunny days which makes it easier to find your ball. However, on bright sunny days, the leaves that are size of a ball will also pop. I guess from the waxy part on them. So then it becomes very difficult to see what is a ball and what is not. In the end, I will throw them on when I know I’m in play but can’t seem to spot it to try and speed up play. Any little bit helps.
On any 4 par or 5 par , without glasses , I go out 200 to 220 yards turn right go in woods 20 yards , I find scores of really nice barely used Golf Balls!
My guess is they are for finding the ball on sunny days when the glare makes it very difficult (like in winter when the sun is low in the sky). Guessing they wouldn't work any better than regular sunglasses, but that's when you'd really have to test them.
there are better ones out there, I have had a pair my wife got me as a gift for the last 5 years, they are meant to be used when looking only, wearing them in the sun can actually hurt your eyes. Mine work very well in the edge woods line, i the woods, deep rough, in especially in the leaves of fall here in Ohio etc. Unless the ball is really under something 95-100 percent covered I have found them helpful. My partners use them also as I just leave them in the cart for any one to grab, since a few of the guys on the leagues have gotten them after using mine,
That was a cool song in the 80's...I wear my sunglasses at night so I can see the balls that's right before my eyes!......Don't masquerade with the guy in shades.....Cause you got it made with the guy in shades.
I saw another RUclipsr review these glasses and he found a lot of balls. But he went looking in the dark and with a flashlight. I guess the flashlight helps the white pop in the dark while wearing the glasses.
‘The good news is, I hit them both in the right trees.’ I think your definition of good news and my definition of good news, is two different definitions.
Someone got me a pair for Christmas. They help a little bit- not much. Unfortunately it's too much of a pain to get them out of my bag to look for a ball, so I never wear them. I can't play golf with glasses on either, even sunglasses. I don't know why, it's a mental thing.
Ball finding gadgets will never be a thing due to the fact ball manufacturers don't want u to find ur ball so u buy more. I mean surely a smaller chip version of a top golf ball could be made to use bluetooth to ping off. So if ur within 20-30 yards an app on your phone will guide you too it etc
I've seen ultra violet "black light" flashlights for sale. The idea is white or fluorescent colours shine really bright in the ultra violet, same idea, like in a nightclub the ultra violet makes anything white glow as bright as neon. Best times to use meant to be at twighlight, but perfect time is pitch black. People that look for balls to resell them get good results.. Theses glasses, look like a take on that idea, but don't really do it...
Mr. Short Game, my golf shots are always easy to find, nothing but fairways and greens!!!! Those glasses are a pass, don't waste your money, but you could be in a Devo video. Be safe.
I was given a pair of those years ago as a gift, sturdier and larger than the ones you have. Never even tried them on, they're still in a closet somewhere.
How do they work with orange, yellow, lime green, crazy red, soccer looking golf balls, etc? These are what are found in the woods. Asking for a friend.
Hahaha here we go again silly gadgets.com, I think there trying to make it look like a black light which is impossible how ever going on a course at night in the dark with a black light torch it’s amazing what you can see 👍🏻
These glasses are for finding golf balls especially in the rough - not for wearing, certainly NOT as sunglasses, & not for playing in. A gimic that sometimes works.
“Ok, well... good news is, I hit them boooooth in the trees.” I’m lmao.
“I found nothin, zero, humph” appreciate the honest review, with the cost of balls these days any advantage is worth considering
I would have to imagine that the value comes when its midsummer and there is long green rough. I think they are supposed to make the white stand out from the green grass.
One of the reasons I follow you is that sometimes you do stuff that’s way out there😂😂😂

Same.
Thank you
Matt, I’m looking for a slightly used 3 wood. Any recommendations?
Try the 3wood glasses.

in the spring and fall, the course i play at has lots of leaves on the course, i could see that being helpful from distinguishing ball from leaves
It's an exact copy of the blue mood color glasses I have, and I have just about every single one of them.
I got permission to go into my local golf course at night and look for golf balls. I use a uv light and it's so much fun!!! They glow like crazy!!!
I have a set in my bag. Pull them out maybe 2 or 3 times a year. You wind up in really tall grass, pickle weed or bushes, it definitely helps. You crack me up and in this day and age, we all need it. Thanx
I have switched to Fluro Vivid golf balls (particularly the fluro orange and fluro yellow) and has made my game so much more enjoyable!
I’ve had a pair for a few years. I would never try to hit with them on. If it’s really Sunny outside, the ball will glow. Well it does with mine. But, the shade really makes a difference.

I wouldn't worry about it. Looks just like Fred Couples
will they work with different colored ones?
I wonder how they do when the grass is green. I would think that’s a bigger contrast.
they would be my most used tool in golf
glad somebody finally reviewed these things
Where I live courses tend to have higher grass outside the fairways. It can take 4 players a little time to find one ball. The blue glasses really work. In taller grass. I didn't see any turf higher than a ball in this video.
This video changed my life!
I wonder if they would help in the fall with all the leaves I was losing balls in the fairway
Matt- no one ever loses balls at Atlanta National, the golfers are too good for that to happen.😉
Don't think the glasses will work for me with my eyesight but a uv torch is brilliant finding balls especially in the dark give that a go free golf balls for life
Hi Matt, you just burned 20 bucks. Should've spent them on BEER GOGGLES. (LOL) Cheers!!!
Wondering if the Oakley golf prizm glasses does the same thing but at least you can golf in them.
I purchased a similar pair of blue glasses and never hit with them on. The ball definitely stands out when everything is green, however, if the sun is shining other objects like leaves pop out too. They are worth $20 though.

Golf ball finding is my job so maybe I’ll try em
Wonder how these would work with the yellow, red, orange and etc colored golf balls?
Hahahahahhaha “ Matt you look amazing”

Lol, a resounding endorsement. Cheers.
Looking cool Mr SG. 🤣🤣

I think Elton John has a pair like that too, LOL
Not convinced by these. But, like others have said in the comments, a UV torch is fantastic for finding balls when it's dark. Obviously not much use when you are actually playing though.
You're hillarious Matt!
i played atlanta national, amazing track.

this was interesting :D
Try those with yellow balls in the spring... Everything is green now. OMG
Vintage MrShortGame! Sometimes insightful, usually useful, but ALWAYS entertaining!
High what make is the jacket you are wearing please ?.
Under Armour
Looking good!

I got some of those a couple years ago. Can't say they helped but they were a good joke for people I showed them too.
Lol loved the sleeve gag
So if you hit a yellow ball and blue glasses, will everything turn green?
Just wondering
Are they polarized atleast? But thanks to you, I don't have too. 🤣🤙
Are those glasses made just for finding white colored balls or all colored golf balls
Definitely need a pair from my old mate Iain in Western Australia 🇦🇺

I'm really good @ tracking my ball so I'm going to wear them when playing with random guy's and sell them for a profit!
I'm looking for something similar that will help me find bowling balls.
Amazon sells portable black light flashlights that make all golf balls glow in the dark at night.
‘The good news is, I hit them both in the right trees.’ I think your definition of good news and my definition of good news, is two different definitions.

Be curious when there's is lush, green and not dormant if they make a difference
I was thinking the same thing
Bought these and they don’t work on cloudy days, have not been golfing since, will update on a sunny day, but so far garbage.
They make it slightly easier to find the ball when in the rough.
I just play with a fluorescent yellow ball. I can't play with a white ball as I can not see it at all after I hit it. Yellow is no problem.

@@tedzink4574 👍 Hello, Ted.
I guess they would only make a yellow ball blend in with the green grass, since yellow+blue=green.
The real question; will they help you read greens?
I love how awkward Matt is. It’s funny
My buddy had a pair of those like 20 years ago! I told him I would rather lose my ball than wear those ridiculous glasses!! Lol
I find the honey hole I’m thinking something totally different...
You should have use rose colored glasses! LOL!!

Who would have thought so :D
do the glasses help you on the green when you putt??? can you see the different ways the grass on the green changes??
I hear there's some thought to putting GPS in golf balls.
If you play in Dead Brown grass use. bright Green Ball. It will stick out like a weed.
Love you man but my wife keeps my ball’s in her purse that way I never use, sorry I mean lose them😂.
