I was torn between Past and Future, because both could have a really cool impact on the next Splatoon game. I didnt factor the idols of my real-life preference at all into my decision, knowing the impact it would have. I ended up on team future just by a slim marigin, but Past winning is still hype. GGs team past! (Also present exists too I guess)
Love OTH and I did choose present. However, instead of theorizing for the next game or choosing solely on idol bias I chose present because of the question’s phrasing as I want to embrace living in the moment more. I genuinely would’ve picked it no matter who was representing bc each idol group has a special place in my heart for different reasons. It will be cool regardless to see how Splatoon 4 will handle the time theme because I also doubt that we’re literally going to be in the trenches of the Great Turf War with full bamboozler squads, but maybe in addition to a traditional aesthetic the game’s messaging will be about learning from the past (since the fest question was very values-based)

And it drove me to fight harder than I ever did. I was in tears last night after seeing the results. We did it Team Past. We really did! Stay Fresh ya’ll!

THE FIRST FUCKING FINAL SPLATFEST IM WINNING AHHHHHH 🎉🎉🎉 I thought we were at least a little close w/ present for votes, but I was so wrong (cause' for most ppl Splatoon 2 was their first Splatoon (I'm here since Splatoon 1 btw.)) This final splatfest was also the one I played the last, I played about 4h & won like 3 or 4 10x and multiple 1,5x for tricolor (my rank was only close to past ruler #1 too) (cause' I worked on friday and got too much to do on saturday)

IT IS INSANE the "Vote" percentage between Team Past and Future is nowhere close to the 50+% overmajority of team present (14% plus margin against all team) The only way Team Past Won is through Tri-color, normal, all three it won by a narrow margin Geez this is Undemocratic LOL but i had fun Love yall! I hope they at least go back to 2 teams as 3 teams seems too unbalanced and only favors the most popular and middle popular teams. Only once did the team in last place in votes ever win and that was Team Handshake. So yeah, just proves that 2 teams was better.

I’m so happy I played exclusively tricolor and won so much. I feel like I helped my fave 2 sisters so much since that score was so high! I hope this lets Nintendo know to not “retire” them! We had to WORK SO SO HARD . . . A funny thing about this Splatfest is that if you think about it, the idols helped Team Past to win (and not only Callie and Marie but ALL of them) That's because the tricolor stage was INDEED defender favored, and one of the reasons was because the second Sprinkler of Doom was removed and changed with the idols throwing fizzbangs. At first it sounds cute and hype and all of that, but removing such an important part of tricolor and changing it with fizzbangs was HORRIBLE for attackers (and they only throw like threee fizzbangs every now and then like?????😭😭😭😭)
It also could've been that the other attacking team gets greedy for the 2nd signal since they wanted to hear their idols be on the center stage, dooming both attacking teams in the process in a lot of matches since they attacked each other which I did see for myself a few times.
Dude, there's no way that a team that was in second place for votes swept the clout results like that. People of Team Past, that was not experience that had y'all get the upper hand, there is no way you guys rightfully won. You've angered everyone on the other teams.
