They still make fresca, I drink it all the time!😊
But it no longer contains the cyclamates that got it banned.
me too
My grandma used to always have Shasta cream soda in her fridge.
... seven yew pea? you mean 7UP? lolol
That's AI for you...😊😊😊
I have fond memories drinking crystal pepsi while eating fudge covered oreos at my grandparents house in the late 80s.
Then you're remembering wrong, because Crystal Pepsi wasn't introduced until 1992
Tab was the worst tasting soda ever.
Absolutely. I tried it once; never again!
You are so correct. You took the words (and the bad taste of Tab) right out of my mouth! Tab was the closest thing to drinking water from a car radiator. I am 66 years old and I can still remember the taste. It tasted slightly better in a glass bottle but not by much.
@@philiphatfield5666 my Tap story is from high school, if all the normal sofa's were sold out, there were only tab. One drink was all it took. Then the Riot started. It was brutal. ;)
Tab tasted ok before they banned Cyclamates.
Tasted much better after they started using calcium saccharin instead of the sodium type. Maybe 1/10 of that aftertaste.
Does anyone remember Upper10 lemon lime soda or Tiger Red cream soda?
Early 80s in the navy I was assigned to a submarine tender and often worked long shifts to get the subs repaired and ready for patrol. We lived on Jolt cola.
Always love an orange Nehi!!!😊😊
Hires Root beer was one of my favorite sodas. I don't drink sodas any more.
Upper Ten was great. I'm not a Sprite lemon lime drink fan, but I liked Upper Ten. Never heard of bubble up
The group Negativland did Nesbitt's Lime Soda Song and it mentions Upper Ten..and Nehi
Hires was available by mail order until VERY recently, I bought a 24 pack in 2022 at an outrageous price, but it stopped being readily available ca 1980. Its very unfortunate that the inferior A&W was promoted at the expense of Hires.
Diet Rite Cola was the first diet drink I had ever tried. I didn’t like Tab or diet Coke. Now it’s only Dr. Pepper Zero or nothing at all.
Hires Root beer was good when you were eating a hot dog.😀
I miss Tab
I remember Frosty Rootbeer in the 60s
Loved fresca
You can still get Shasta!
7 U--P? It's 7up. Major AI voice fail.
Vernor's Ginger Ale and RC Cola. The Vernor's is still around, but hard to find and NOT the same. It use to be crisp and refreshing, now it's icky cloying to drink and leaves an aftertaste, too much sweetener even though it's a 'zero sugar'. I haven't seen RC in ages.
Upper Ten , Sprite , Seven Up , Bubble Up ! Somebody out there knows of other lemon-lime soda drinks .
Shasta Tiki was my favorite. We had it every time we went camping in the summer here in Texas. I remember when TaB was going to give everyone cancer b/c of the saccharin in it. I loved Fresca as a kid. Aspen was good too. Apple soda wasn't too bad.
bUBBLE UP WAS ONE THAT MY DAD (RIP) WOULD DRINK THAT DURING THE TIME WE DID A LAWN SERVICE.
Ahhhhh, I watched both of your soda vids and did not see my favorite one from 60 and 70s, it was called Simba.
At the grocery store my Mom always went to when I was a kid, there was always a display of pop right inside the front door. Eight 16 oz bottles for $0.99. And it was always something like Tab or Diet Rite. Try as I might I couldn't get Mom to recognize the difference between (say) Tab and Pepsi. So I have lots of memories choking down Tab. That stuff was terrible.
Fresca was a drink that only showed up in the house around special occassions - Christmas, guests, that sort of thing. Mom used it in some sort of recipe she had. It wasn't as a mixer because there was never any alcohol harder than wine in the house. But I remember pouring Fresca into a wine glass because it seemed to me a more "adult" drink. When you are little, something like that makes you feel a little more grown up.
😂
What about Vernor's Golden Ginger Ale (as opposed to that dreck Canada Dry ginger ale). Now THAT was a great soda.
You can still get Vernor's, depending where you look! I used to find it in Smart and Final, but now a small grocery near where I live carries both the regular and diet versions.
I've been able to find Dad's Root Beer in Big Lots - if it is in fact a product instead of Hires! As far as I'm concerned, Shasta may as well be a thing of the past because I found my old favorite Tiki Punch and it didn't taste right at all made with modern corn sweetener! I think Nehi stopped being produced when I was a young kid because when I saw an old glass bottle of one in a thrift store I didn't know it wasn't spelled "Knee High"! Haha!
Don't forget Kick Cola, similar to Jolt Cola.
I remember Fresca! The OLD Fresca that is. In fact the first time I drank it I recognized it for what it really was, a cocktail base called "Tom Collins Mixer" except a bit sweeter. "T-C Mixer" had a strong lemon-lime flavor with a sharp snap to it which I actually preferred but Fresca (Italian for refreshing by the way!) was pretty good in it's own right.
The last time I had it was 20 years ago, I hadn't seen it in years and saw it for sale in a vending machine so needless to say I had to give it a try. YUCK! They changed the formula! Ruined it! I haven't had one since.
"Sic transit gloria mundi."
Tab is missed!? That was some nasty tasting stuff!!
It was beyond nasty tasting.
I'm pretty sure Jolt is still around. Unfortunately safeway signature select grapefruit soda is no more.
I think tab is back and nehi is still strong
Gresca still exists. I bought a bottle a month ago.
Go one up with Bubble Up. Bubble Up.
I love to have and sometimes I can still get it. And I still am able to get fresca
Hubba Bubba bubble gum flavored soda👍
It's still available but I'll put it on a list of sodas you can't get any more. WHAT? In that case, I miss the taste of Pepsi Cola. It's been years since I had one.
Shasta is still around.
My Mom used to drink Tab!
LOVED TAB ❤👍👍
how about Pommac?
Terrica Williams primary
Fresca isn't gone.
Discontinuing Tab was the worst decision Coca-Cola has ever made it made me turn to Pepsi Zero just out of spite!
Agree. Oh my gosh, I loved Tab!
PLEASE BRING TAB SODA BACK!!!
If you want the taste of Tab, go to an auto graveyard and find the oldest vehicle there and get whatever liquid is left in the radiator and drink it!
Tab was GOOD.
Tab was BAD.
Fresca really should be gone. Worst tasting soda ever. I cannot properly put into words how disgusting that stuff is.
You must be a man! Fresca was my absolute treat in the 70s.
