I've had the 2020 zx6r and now the 18r6. For me, the r6 is more comfortable on longer rides, more fun cornering and looks better. Only thing I don't like is when I get past 145 on my r6 it doesn't feel as stable as my zx did. I still do all the same shiet that I did on my zx, just with more fun. If you can find a 2017-2020 r6, I'd 100% go with that

(Better handling, revvy engine, aggresive position, good suspension) If you using your sportsbike for commuting and maybe do track days just couple times a month : go for zx-6r. (Cheaper msrp, more comfortable riding position, broader powerband, and more mid range grunt )
A cbr is better than a R6 if you know how to modify them. Easy to ride, good handling. with stock engine there is no hp difference. If you get serious with racing, your probably be using aftermarket suspension anyway. But it’s critical that you know how to make a cbr fast.
R6 price inflated in the used market after Yamaha discontinued it. Not really worth to spend paper on it unless you have lots of money and just love the bike overall. ZX6r will probably be my next bike one day
ZX6-R is the best. Cheaper and more power. R6 has better forks, but 99% of riders will not use the R6 to its max potential. The ZX6-R will pull out of corners harder thanks to improved torque.

I like both bikes but when it comes to power I'll go with the ZX6R but the looks of the R6 is so sharp the only thing I like in the R6 us the tail light but when it comes to power and technology I will be choosing THE ZX6R

If you want more comfort, way better handling, longer ride ability, smoother engine characteristics, and easier to work on, go R6. The 636 has more power and is quicker, sure, but it's a day and night difference in terms of cornering versus the R6, it suffers heavy vibration in the clip ons, found I had to stretch forward more on the Kawasaki than the Yamaha, and many reviews call the R6 a "hot motorcycle to ride" yet the Zx6r is always above 200 degrees and horrible in stop and go traffic whereas the R6 sits comfortably below 190 and doesn't tend to overheat as badly as the Kawasaki will.

my preferred choice would be an inline 4 two stroke something that wants fly but these two old ladies is what we have to choose form now its sad times we live in. nice video maybe we could ask Yamaha and Kawasaki to do away with linear torque and power curves and give us all the action in small section of the rev range. I've got a 2018 R6 and previously had a 2002 one and never had any motor or chassis issue.
