I have optic neuropathy and have been following stories out of doctor Benowitz's lab for years. The work that is being done has the potential to be the single greatest medical breakthrough for people like myself and has given me hope that there can be a treatment in my lifetime. I am so grateful for their work because it does give people who had no hope some hope that their disability could improve at some point. It is amazing to see someone so talented dedicate their life's work to helping people where there was previously no hope of any improvement.

I have a member in family who lost sight to Glaucoma, it was encouraging to listen to the progress being made to bring back the vision of people with optic nerve damage. Hope these advancements will materialize soon enough.

Very encouraging, at least information is coming from a respected and known authority/institution. As much as I wish for the success of the research, sadly I already know it will be out of reach financially for us from poorer regions of the planet. But good job professor and all of the best.
