I GOT THE NEW PISTOL IN BLACK OPS 3!!! (FOR REAL THIS TIME)
So, it looks like Black Ops 3 has added some new weapons again. This time around they added the Banshi Shotgun, Rift E9 Pistol, and 2 new melee weapons (Nightbreaker & Buzz Cut).
I happened to be lucky enough to get the Rift E9 Pistol from a rare supply drop with cryptokeys, so I wanted to make a video showcasing the new pistol!
I’m still not too fond of them adding more futuristic guns like the Banshi (laser slug shotgun) and Rift E9 Pistol (laser pistol) into supply drops, which can SIGNIFICANTLY change the balance of the game, but Treyarch did an okay job of giving them good pros and cons.
This new Rift E9 pistol is powerful, but only in the right, accurate hands. It has a decent amount of strong and weak points to keep it in line with existing weapons, but still fits a unique niche role in Black Ops 3.

Trayarch logic: Normal bullets hit instantly, but lasers (that travel at the speed of light) take longer to hit the enemy than bullets... WTF?

It's not speed of light, but the bolt probably would go equal to or fast than regular bullets. Probably faster, at least assuming it is a plasma bolt.
WARNING, all science after this point is pure hypothesis. Plasma weapon technology is in an infant state. For reference, we are currently in a Closed Alpha for plasma weapons. Ten years from now this comment could be completely wrong. It might even be wrong now, my research into plasma weapons isn't very detailed.
See the idea with plasma is that the range of the bolt (max distance it can travel while keeping its strength) scales up with the velocity. If you had a plasma gun that could incinerate someone from 3 miles away, the bolt would be moving insanely fast.
I haven't used the Rift E9, so correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I can see the two shot kill range is pretty far. I'm not even sure Treyarch gave it a damage drop off. So if the range is that far, then that means the plasma bolt should be moving pretty damn fast.
