What a way to introduce Clark's super hearing! I love/hate that while it helps him expand his reach, it's left him feeling like he has to save more and more people
I actually love this, it's the first time I have seen a tv show or movie explore how hard it would be for superman. The fact he has to actively ignore people's cries for help for his mental health.
Now this might explain why he lives in the fortress of solitude. Living in a city with super hearing will mess with his mentality.
@@olavihekandjo2928 This is why I always said Kryptonians should learn stuff like Meditation and other Spiritual and Martial Aspects. Both for Peace of Mind and to make them nearly unstoppable it's a damn shame Superman doesn't learn at least the most Basic Principles of Hand to Hand Combat outside of the stuff that's Instinctual.
Then again if that was the case pretty much any Kryptonian would be Overpowered if they took it seriously and consistently trained Mind, Body, and Spirit. But it would be crazy to see the potential if they could Wield that Might and Ability with the precision of the best fighters. Similar to when Spiderman created Way of the Spider from studying with the best Masters of the Marvel Universe.
They baited us with wholesomest episode last week only to break our hearts today 😭✋
Also why did none of them brought up "Hey thats the guy Lois punched for supporting that monster at ivo's tower" 😂
So heartbreaking for Lois to accidentally imply Clark isn't normal because he has these powers after he revealed that's why he didn't tell them he was Superman in the first place.

I think Clark's reaction was more like "heh, that's all I ever wanted. But now I absolutely cannot be."
@@KeijiMaeda86 It was definitely meant to be a callback to his earlier reasons for not telling them. After Clark went "Heh, normal..." Lois looked regretful and said "Clark, I...I didn't..."

I think what they were going for was to make us think he's Alex Allston, because of his connection to the parasite.
But I think it's actually Luther. He even has the same hair that they use for young Lex in the comics.

15:13 When Mist/Kyle puts his hand to the shock 🌩⚡️⛈️ band around his neck, after watching the general keep Ivo/Parasite from murdering Superman so he can get information (which he *_doesn't even have_* 😠😡🙄😒🤨), he looks _horrified_ at what he just helped do to Superman, and after Superman showed *genuine kindness* to him in wanting to help free his sister 🥺😔.
There's also a chance, if only a small one, that he and the rest of the villains (minus Ivo/Parasite and Deathstroke) will help Lois and Jimmy to free and save Superman after Mist/Kyle reflects on how Superman had shown them kindness at one point or another (Leslie Willis/Livewire when Slade Wilson/Deathstroke damaged her suit and was going to die and cause even more immeasurable damage to Metropolis until Superman removed the power source crystal from her harness while saying he was there to help; Rory/Heat Wave when he was trying to tell her he wasn't kidnapping anyone, didn't physically attack her and said he only wanted to help; and Kyle McDougal/Mist when he told him that (admittedly false) story about his escaping and trying to save his sister Siobhan McDougal/Silver Banshee and friend Albert/Rough House, his reply was "I can't let you do that, not alone" 🥺😔) and they might all end up becoming actual heroes. Of course that might just be wishful thinking on my part, but, it's a good thought though, right 🤔🤷♂️?

@@erikolson4148 I think some of them will help Superman as well. It just makes sense. How else is Clark meant to escape being captured? (It's not like Lois and Jimmy can take those villains all on)
My bet is Intergang and maybe Heat Wave would defect. Ivo definitely wouldn't. I think Livewire is unlikely but (maybe) possible. Maybe Intergang would become heroes? They'll get some sort of happy ending. I don't see anyone else becoming heroes
I forgot to mention the fact that Clark saved him from being run over by a truck 🚚, even though that "accident" made him look bad 😥🥺😣😔.

Assuming the show fallows regular Batman Timeline stuff, if Falcone is in jail(which happens in Year 3 for Batman) it's possible that were in year 4+ for him.
She could be older than Bruce. That's an interesting dynamic.

If he is, that's probably why Vicki was more cynical on the prospect of heroes.
This is why i love/hate Waller, yea what she does is insane but she plays the game so well. The handling and composition of the Squad and their roles against Superman was done almost perfectly.
It feels like a reverse of BVS. In that Superman was being hypocritical of Batman despite he himself being a vigilante superhero, while in this Vicki Vale is hypocritical despite them having a vigilante superhero in Gotham. And Batman is a much more ambigious, dark superhero as compared to Superman and no one has any idea what he stands for unlike Superman.

"Alex" is totally Lex Luthor, and you know what? If he really is, I'm actually fine with his design. Yeah, he's kinda got a "younger and hipper" look, but unlike BvS's he actually has a bit of "potential villain" look about him (albeit in a more anime sort of way), and has the seriousness and "so over everyone who isn't me" that Luthor's classically got. I can see the seeds in there.

Since Vicki Vale is in this series, anyone else hoping that we at least see a small Batman cameo eventually down the line. Personally, I kinda hope that he’s voiced by 2004 The Batman (Rino Romano) since that underrated cartoon is slightly similar to this one.
The part that really stuck out to me was that brief "oh God please don't" that Clark couldn't address due to focusing on finding Libby's parents. Little details like that really showcase how difficult it is being Superman.
Right? That part was weird… I feel like Clark would have prioritized that right after
I like to think it was a very intentional choice to put Clark up against exactly six of his past villains (sorry Kyle, the bait doesn't count).

Great episode, yet I hate what this episode did to tarnish Superman's good name even though it was intentional. Superman has just been a good guy trying to help people, yet it was so easy for the general to make him look bad to the public just because Superman has those powers. Vicki Vale only helped make things worse with her anti-Superman sentiment. It also doesn't help that Lois still had that footage of evil versions of Superman on her person, where it could easily fall into the wrong hands. The footage did make Lois doubt Clark even a little bit. To make things worse, Superman goes through a rough battle with the villains he faced in previous episodes, and he might have been able to defeat them if it wasn't for the Parasite suit. The next part may explain what zero day really is and confirm the general's true identity. I honestly cannot wait a week for the next part of this obviously three part season finale. Superman has proven throughout the DC multiverse that people with power can be good.
The problem is that with today's society, we're too suspicious and too biased that we're reluctant to downright unwilling to give anyone the benefit of the doubt. Yeah, Ivo's company went bust, and people lost jobs, but didn't Ivo go full-on psycho by dropping an innocent man to his death and endangered others? I noticed that Vicki neglected to get both sides of the story. She's writing the story based on her own views and leaving out facts. She's not a reporter. She's a tabloid writer.
The paranoia from the General is like he doesn't know that the Cold War is over. Yes, I can understand suspicion of the unknown, but if you want to be given a chance to prove yourself, then you have to give others the same measure.
@@Animeaddiction I agree. Vicky Vale in particular just didn't care about getting all of the facts. Ivo ruined his own company by endangering lives, and the damage to his own building was due to him picking that fight with Superman. Vicky just didn't care about journalistic integrity.
Alex might have secondary motives. He might be planning on creating his own company in the ruins of Amazo Tech, and lose his hair in the process.

Super hearing. One of the powers i believe would cause most people to go insane. And this is just in the city. Imagine being able to hear everything around the world at once. Then think of being able to smell everything around the world.

Lex Luthor is definitely showing up next episode or I should say the reveal of Lex Luthor. Now I am going to guess Batman possibly showing up next episode, I mean Gotham, Vicki Vale, The Falcounes, it is really a matter of time till we see Bats show up. It's kind of crazy that whenever anything new regarding Superman or Batman movie or show they will always mention or reference one another. Like you can't talk about Superman without Batman being added into the conversation or the other way around.
Superman and batman are always linked when it comes to the animated universe, they're the world's finest, after all.

Yo, this episode was so freakin GOOD. Return of all the villains we've seen so far, introducing Vicki Vale, exploring more of Superman's powers, and that CLIFFHANGER. Can't wait for the next one!

Yes Superman doesn't need sleep but since he was raised as normal human by Kents, psychologically he feels that he need sleep. But remember when Superman feels so weak then he needs sleep. We all know about Death of Superman comics, in that he underwent very deep sleep to recover from injuries that were caused due to Doomsday.

I loved how they are showing Clark helping normal people with everyday crime and problems. Its such a Superman thing to be a helpful dork and shows how he genuinely wants to just help. Also what a perfect way to show his super hearing and how he is going to have to prioritize problems otherwise he'd kill himself working constantly.
MY ADVENTURES WITH SUPERMAN IS AMAZING 8 EPISODES SO FAR
It's great writing when a show can get the audience to have such a strong reaction. Omn1 was feeling so bad for Clark. It's been built up "bad guy of the week" Clark can handle most of this handily, slowly learning his powers... Now Bam, the general throws all the tech and goons at him at once and catches him in a weak point. And simultaneously news and public opinion is changing their tune on SM. For a cute silly show... it's getting serious!
That is absolutely Lex Luthor. It's gonna be great to see Lex develop from Ivo's assistant to Superman's greatest enemy in future seasons.
The show is teasing us by only naming him as Alex and Sam Lane as The General.

My prediction for final episode. At the end of it Lois will write a counter editorial to Vicki Vale. This will finally get her the reporter job, possibly her first pulitzer, it will use the interviews they had during this episode and Lois' own experiences, and it will be titled My Adventures With Superman.
Also going to have an interview with the invisibile guy. Mist. Because the city didn't SEE him saving someone. They thought he just ran into a truck for no reason.
Loved the Bobbi Easter egg. I could see him showing up next season
I've been thinking all week about the previous episode, one of the Lois' in the restricted room was: " Lois, ready to meet dad." Ready implies about to meet, or paused: never met. What if this General Lane is from another Earth? And like Sarah Conner saw Judgement Day, think about the music choice when the League of Lois' appeared? Sounded a lot like the Terminator score; also in the comics Slade Wilson's full title is Deathstroke the Terminator. It could all be coincidences.
I bet they get a major threat next episode and no one can beat it...except Superman.

This is a very well made, contemporary comics series, that has gravitas without being as brutal as Invincible.
I appreciate Invincible & The Boys, but I enjoy the break from having to tense up everytime anyone superpowered touches a living thing, because of the possibility of seeing an amateur vivisection.
What surprised me most in this episode, is that the shock collar still worked on a juiced up Parasite.

I am going to make a prediction. The reason the general hates superman in particular is because he has already met a Kryptonian on the ‘zero day’ who wreaked havoc before being stopped and that Kryptonian was Zod

While the "citizens turning on superheroes" trope is ALWAYS annoying, I'd say this episode tackled it in a way that actually works.

My only issue with this show is the writers are trying way too hard with their use of social media, really trying to relate to the younger crowd like “Hey kids, look how hip we are ya dig?”. Idk why but I found it weirdly distracting in this episode in particular. I’d like a fantasy word with no phones sometimes
