Qrowe Wouldn't take much at all, really. So Perseus hates Vegeta (the Elder) and by proxy Vegeta (the younger), and Broly is down for that. Not the first time that a multi-generational hatred was used as a story arc. Remember the Crane School arc from DB? Tienshinhan's introduction into the franchise? Same deal. Only this time, the villain has a genetic trait that gives him a constantly increasing level of _ki_, something the makes him more berserk as his power level increases. Boom, instant bad guy with a legit reason for tearing into the Z-Fighters. No aliens, no new planet, no Comet Kamari... just a old enemy of Vegeta's father coming back to fuck over the son with an appropriate "weapon."
My reaction to Adam Taurus from RWBY. That his motives are really dumb, but his design looked cool, but he’s still REALLY DUMB. And deserved to die in Volume 6. He was wasted potential, and lore-wise he wasted his potential.
Fun fact: Not only is that bit about Goku crying in the crib next to Broly his ACTUAL reason for hating Goku in the show, but in the actual movie, they DO cut back to that crib scene just as Goku lands the final punch on Broly.
"You're not dealing with the average saiyan warrior" is a nod to Vegeta in the Freeza saga of DBZ Abridged, he said that like 3 different times! Hahaha
Aww man, ya missed one of the best comeback lines in the movie when ya spoke over it; Goku: Eh, I'm sure I'll pull something out of my butt Broly: AND IT WILL BE BROLYS FIST! Trunks: Probably.....

4:35 Vegeta isn't alluding to steroids, he means actual juice, like fruit juice. In the DBZA episode where he first turns super saiyan he jokes about how it was "push ups, sit ups, and plenty of juice", and actually in one of the original episodes when he's facing Imperfect Cell, he says something similar.
Hey Curtis!! Fun Fact: The music that plays when Brolly transforms is actually Beerus' theme from Dragon Ball Super :) Not to point out the obvious but I'm just Saiyan :P
So. That backstory for why Broly hates Goku is THE ACTUAL STORY. TFS didn't change it. That is actually why the guys at TeamFourStar and a lot of DBZ fans dislike the Broly story. The character itself is pretty cool, but there is no explanation at all for why he is so powerful other than "he just is, deal with it" and the backstory for him hating Goku is so fucking stupid. Even the fact that King Vegeta tried to kill baby broly didn't exist, so they made that up with Nappa giving bad advice. At least other villains have a reason for being powerful. Freeza's race has a high natural power level, Androids were built to be powerful and had information about Goku and his friends, Cell is the combination of the galaxy's greatest fighters, Buu is an ancient evil being that devoured many powerful people... Broly is just... Broly. The guys at TFS always hated Broly and they didn't want to make an abridged of him, but since they were making all movies and people were so insistent about it, they just gave in.
Suicide Squad, We understand his backstory. In my opinion, his backstory doesn't make him a better character. I think that a character that is going to be called the legendary super sayian deserves to have a better backstory than being annoyed by a newborn child that does what newborn children usually does: cry.
he was born with a high power level, like how people are born with diseases, it just happens.. no need to have a back story on that tbh. i agree that his reason to hate goku was because of the crying though.
Samething to you it's not the reason for his hate of goku, just the trigger. He actually doesn't hate goku at all. As for the born with a high powerlevel I can completely understand that as well. It's kind of like how Frieza's family was born with a high power level due to a mutation of genes(The reason the rest of his race isn't actually strong- and the reason behind him never training).
alla hullk Oh yeah, isn't there a part in the cell games where they show that. (Yosh tells Goku that Gohan's not a fighter) Shows that Yosh is more understanding of Gohan
Piccolo born age 753 Gohan born age 757 757-753=4 He is only 4 years older than Gohan and still a better father than Goku, who is 16 Years older than him. Shame he is only a background character at this point
If you watch it with subtitles. It refers to piccolo as gohans father. It calls goku the son of bardock and it refers to vegeta as king vegeta the second and princess trunks respectively.
U would have to watch freeza saga to get when peragus said "ur not dealing with the average saiyan warrior anymore " it was all vegeta keep saying. And it was hilarious
I have to admit that considering I watched all of this, with my brothers, when we were kids, Gotta say that the abridged series is amazing. But your reaction videos are also hilarious. I'll try and check out some of your other stuff.
The whole "It's JUST the crying" thing has never really sat right with me. Sure, it's a trigger, but for all the other terrible things that happened to him that day, like being stabbed, and tossed in the garbage to rot, and the planet blowing up. That's extremely traumatic shit, and Broly remembers all of it. So yeah, having Goku around takes him back to that day and makes him flip out cause he has massive PTSD.
Broly is still one of the dumbest Characters with the weakest possible Motivation ADDITIONALLY that the name "Kakarot" triggers him, and not even the crying... It just doesnt make sense. But that is not really suprising for most DBZ movie Villains (specifically refering to Movie Villains, and the exceptions are Beerus and Whis, of course.). They arent really written all too well.
Well, that's just it, there is no motivation. It's fight or flight, instinct. He's not that different from a war vet or a victim of a heinous violent crime who's learned to associate certain sights, sounds and smells to past trauma. Experiencing those sensations again, in the present, can bring them back with those moments. Maybe he heard one of the doctors/nurses call Kakarot by name, so he remembers that? It could've happened. The major appeal of Dragon Ball, especially the villains, is they're a lot like Greek Gods. By that, I mean they don't act like you'd expect Gods to act, being as petty and immature as us mortals. So as terrible as they are as people, we still relate to them because they really aren't that different. Just extremely powerful. Why do you think Beerus is so popular? We like villains that act sort of like us. Cell is vain and in love with himself, Buu is a child who doesn't know what he's doing is wrong, Vegeta goes through a mid-life crisis of all things at the beginning of that saga because he doesn't like being domesticated... it's like with all of the better villains, the creators are asking the question "What would happen if you gave >this type of person< nigh-immeasurable power? What's the first thing they would do?" And in Broly's case, I think asking the question "What if somebody filled with rage who suffers terrible PTSD had that kind of power?" was a pretty unique idea and worth attempting at least one time. They just didn't stick the landing, is all. They flubbed up what could've been a great thing, but I don't think the idea itself is terrible.
Broly was never exposed to Vegeta's dad directly, a normal sayian actually did the job of stabbing him under King Vegeta's order. The only things Broly was exposed to were Kakarots name, Bardocks name, Paragus name, and being stabbed/the face of the stabber. PTSD also blocks traumatic memories which would be him being stabbed/the face leaving the memories of Kakarot's name and crying intact. Thus the reason thats his trigger. I seriously wish they'd have just stated it.
*In terms of it wasn't King Vegeta who stabbed him - King Vegeta gave the order as stated, what King would give and order he carries out himself? He'd just do it.
You guys should react to the most recent few songs that TFS released, there's a Frieza one, a Nappa one, and Lani singing the Broly ending w/ metal screaming. Also, still check out DBcember!
So in the actual movie, Vegeta was immobilized by the realization that Broly was the "legendary super Saiyan" he was so in shock he couldn't find the courage to help out the gang fight him. But in TFS's version, the way I see it is that Vegeta's crisis, as Piccolo puts it, is a combination of the people who think Broly is the greatest thing in Dragon Ball, "he's so cool!" & of the people who find nothing amusing about his character "but he's so dumb!". I don't know I that's what TFS intended, but I like to see it that way.
at the end, Team four star made joke from way back in dragon when chichi asked him to get married with her and Goku thought marriage was a type of food
I was thinking, in dragon ball chi chi was (or is) a princess do to her father being the king of a village that they both were from. A few years after they meet, Goku and Chi Chi both had got married during the 23rd world martial arts tournament, So would that make Goku a prince as well as Vegeta?
idk if you guys have ever watched a DBZA episode with the CLosed Captions on, but some of them are amazing. If anyone remembers Cell being on the phone with the He-Tap Sponsors, it actually tells you every word they say.
I love how the actual backstory of brolly is so stupid, unexplained and or weak that everyone has to try and make up stuff and or have to try to explain away it all with their own head cannon... Guess what guys you can try and explain it away all you want and or however it helps you rest with the character, but the fact is the character is not written well, not given a backstory or origin worthy of the character, and is just a weak convenient and contrivance plot device for the sake of writing... Again when your biggest explanation of the character is "this is what's implied, but not stated" you're basically making it up as you go along for yourself becasue the actual writers didn't bother to make and or write anything official. Again there are many times writers can get by with implying something, the major backstory for a massive villain and the supposed real super sayan legend is not one of those times.
You should've watched this with the subtitles on. TFS added a few extra jokes in the subtitles. For instance, after Vegeta sees Broly become the legendary super saiyan, his subtitles change from "Vegeta" to "Broly's #1 Fanboi"
I feel like no one notices that when the guy says "You are not dealing with the average saiyan warrior anymore" to Vegeta that is the same exact line that Vegeta says to Frieza all the time back in the Namek Saga.
its so funny how vegeta kept saying broly is so cool but he's so stupid. Cause thats how i always felt about the whole broly hating goku thing just because he cried.. i love how did this whole movie, so hilarious 😂
I find the fact that even TFS missed the fact Broly has PTSD over being stabbed as a child and his triggers are crying infants, Kakarots appearance, and Kararot's name slightly alarming. I think if they noticed that tad bit of information in Broly's implied lore the movie could have been better. Takes away from the "He's so stupid" thing though.
Do you not know how PTSD works, or are you just trying to get a smart alec comment in? PTSD(Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) is a condition in which certain triggers can send you into a state of stress that you can't recover from for extended periods of time. In Broly's case it's Kakarots name/appearance/crying. The day he was born he was only exposed to one event aside from being stabbed - that being two sayians commenting on how Broly's powerlevel was 10k on birth, while Kakarots was a mere 5. Thus Broly was exposed to Kakarot's name. After he puts a face to that name it becomes his appearance as well(such as when he's triggered by Goten in Broly:" Second Coming). PTSD blocks out traumatic memories - in this case being stabbed which was arguably the worst pain Broly has ever felt in his life and he felt it on none other than the day he was born(which is obvious as Broly was next to Kakarot, and Kakarot was sent to Earth the day he was born). Thus Kakarot's name is all Broly remember aside from the pain itself. One triggers the emotional reaction of the other. Thus Kakarot's name is a trigger for Broly's PTSD which sends him into a mental break entirely. If you read up on basic effects of PTSD it's pretty clearly implied multiple times over both movies.
Thanks for your edit, but you're still a bit misinformed that PTSD alike traumatic experiences in general can block out specific memories to help you cope - then when triggered you only feel the emotions of that memory without cause. I've done my research into as I've lived with PTSD for the last 7 years of my life. Lol. I'm not a Broly fanboy, I enjoy the character and believe theres a lot missed by the common eye and a lot more to his backstory but everyones entitled to their own opinon. If you think hes just a brute and want to dislike him then you can go ahead and do that(mainly directed at the post above yours, but just to get a sense that I'm not arguing from some place of "he has to be a good character because I think he is."
That's wrong and you're wrong. That's you're headcannon. Broly is motivated by Goku's crying and that's as far as it goes. It doesn't bring back memories of him getting stabbed. it doesn't bring back memories of him surviving the explosion of vegeta. Broly is not a complicated character. Don't ever try to make a character who is CLEARLY not as deep as you think good. There is no underlying meaning. This was a means to an end. "Goku crying" was the reason they fought. It's so goku can fight and win in the end. That's how these movies were back then. Broly does not have PTSD. in fact. IF that's the case then he wouldn't hate goku over something so trivial. He'd hate Vegeta. Not Goku. You saying that would change the entire story making Vegeta the Focus of the movie and that's in no way how it works because Vegeta despite being the ONLY character in this movie that broly SHOULD hate he hates Goku. Why? Because Goku cried real loud and really long. That's all. Toei didn't care enough to make sense. If you wrote this movie it would make sense.
So... DBZAbridged Goku has been showing a lot of _interest_ in Cell. Like, _interest_-interest. And Cell has been returning it, at least somewhat. And at the end of Broly Abridged, Chi Chi demanded a divorce. Are they going to 'ship Goku with Cell, now?

Vegeta's feeling towards Broly represents the DBZ fanbase
why yes. yes it does. that's what makes it so funny xD
But what's really funny is that Broly exhibits all the traits that made Vegeta so damn cool during the Saiyan Saga, only with less backstory given.
That Vegeta fails to recognize that makes it funny as shit.

Not gonna lie I wouldn't mind if Broly was brought back as a main arc villain with a much better motivation and backstory...

"But thats so dumb.... but he's so cool! But thats SO DUMB!"
pretty much everyone's opinion on Broly.
My reaction to Adam Taurus from RWBY.
That his motives are really dumb, but his design looked cool, but he’s still REALLY DUMB.
And deserved to die in Volume 6. He was wasted potential, and lore-wise he wasted his potential.
@@mystery8820 Right!?
@@mystery8820Holy crap, Adam Taurus = DBZ Broly.
I didn't think about that before! 😂😂😂
Good thing DBS Broly is also cool, but he has good reasons to be extra pissed off.
Gohan: Dad, what's sadism?
Goku: Ask your mother.
Me: One of the smart's things Goku's ever said.
Phantom Claw It was sadism actually.
"Gohan, where'd ya Go Han"
best quotes
my fav too, also "and it will be broly's fist" in response to goku pulling something from his butt
Arlian is the race of bug people Vegeta and Nappa visited (and blew up)
I wonder how they breed...
oh god the nostalgia

No, Vegeta ate Arlians. Nappa ate a Butterfinger.

Do you really not get it?
Forgot to reply, but I said it was a comeback, not a joke, never said it was funny.
What's even crazier is that the new Broly is even stronger than this one.
That moment where Piccolo was more of a nurturing mother to Gohan than Chi-Chi ever has been.
remember curtis when you watched goku propose to chi chi?
he said only agreed to it when they were kids cause he thought it was some type of food. thats what the last joke is from.
Damn! I can't believe I didn't put that together!... Thanks, My Friend! :-)
Spaz Boys Comedy And then they joked about in DBZA with Vegeta and Trunks, when Trunks asked about Vegeta and Bulma getting married?

The Shamoans (little green things). Mr. Popo enjoys hurting others, Broly does as well, and the Shamoans like to get beaten.

what kind of juice does he drink
4:35 Vegeta isn't alluding to steroids, he means actual juice, like fruit juice. _Or probably not...who am I kidding he is Goku._

yes it actually is, but I just wanted to tell you people, about some good food
MomoshiroTakeshi94 I don't want to google it because I want it to be real
It is real. It's a chocolate and coffee flavoured pastry.
Vegeta meant juice as in actual juice that you drink
Yup, it was a refference to how he became a Super Saiyan, push-ups, sit-ups and plenty of juice.
Keva the Half-Kestora Pretty sure the "juice" Vegeta was talking about back then were his own tears.
Keva the Half-Kestora For some reason I remember it as him saying milk
Vaunt D'ananas That's what Goku said to Gohan in the Time Chamber.
Lord Omega nah he meant juice you drink, watch it again
Broly: The Devil!!
Vegeta: Oh God!! He's so god damn cool!!

Piccolo saving gohan is the absolute best part lol
Who found you guys the funniest in the movie:
1. Goku
2. Vegeta
3. Broly
4. Trunks
5. Piccolo
6. Krillin
7. Gohan
Vegeta Broly Goku
Goku agreed to marry chi chi because when she asked him as children he thought it was a food.
Can we just talk about the fact that this is a 2-part reaction video where Part 2 has more views than Part 1?
You know dbz fans.. They're only here for the fight scenes
3:12 And THAT, is Broly's catchphrase...
A Person With a Name I can already say that is gonna be trend on here
I think it's funny how he thought he knew what it meant when Goku told gohan to let go but they haven't finished the cell saga yet
You make my day Curtis
What a king to a god
What’s a god to a non believer
This is going to be AWESOME
Gets beat instantly
You should've watched this with the subtitles on. TFS added a few extra jokes in the subtitles.
For instance, after Vegeta sees Broly become the legendary super saiyan, his subtitles change from "Vegeta" to "Broly's #1 Fanboi"
Broly bought a Bowflex. Gotta get me one of those.
Just think about it; 30 minutes a day, 3 days a week, and I be lookin' like a god.
I love this dbza movie saw it 2 times already
i already saw it like 6 times
much better than that ssjk9 parody that was only profanity every 3 seconds.
Mihai Mercenarul nah you tripping that parody was way better
Ritvik Taneja Your opinion is bad and you should feel bad.
They removed the stab wound. That was the only legit reason Goku was able to win the fight.
If you ever re-watch it for fun, I would recommend that you turn on subtitles. They are hilarious. TFS put a lot of effort into them.
What's a King to a God and God to a Non-believer theme was a Kanye West reference in case u were wondering.
Was waiting for someone to point this outv
lol @ 6:31 "i hope all he wants to do is beat your a**"
goku:im sure ill pull something out my butt
broly:and it will be brolys fist
you guys missed this one
Its kinda funny watching all the jokes go over Curtis's head
yes!! finally part 2!!! i was bored and there was nothing to watch so you saved me!
9:35 that's me, that's me right there
when one of them said "step on my genetals" I was so done 😂😓
This video gets even better if you watch with Subtitles/Captions. Vegetas name changes so often!
I laughed when you said it's Gokus fault for Broly being the Saiyan that he is xD
Listen to the song in the credits it's dumb and hilarious
i think goku's response to divorce is a reference to dragon ball when chi-chi mentioned marriage and goku thought marriage was a cake
I feel like no one notices that when the guy says "You are not dealing with the average saiyan warrior anymore" to Vegeta that is the same exact line that Vegeta says to Frieza all the time back in the Namek Saga.
Jonathan Irizarry I always thought it was obvious
when goku was younger he agreed to marry chi chi but thought it was a type of food then in the last dragonball saga they got married
I feel like Vegeta fanboying about Broly was Lani trolling Kaiser
who?
fusiontoa18
Nick Landis (Lanipator) and Scott Frieriechs (KaiserNeko).
The movie is funnier with the subtitles on
its so funny how vegeta kept saying broly is so cool but he's so stupid. Cause thats how i always felt about the whole broly hating goku thing just because he cried.. i love how did this whole movie, so hilarious 😂
"HE IS SO COOL!!"
"HE'S A GIANT FUCKING BABY!"
"THATS SO COOL!!"
"WHAT IS A GOD....TO A NON BELIVER?!"
Fun fact: if you put on captions when piccolo shows up the caption say gohans dad
I cringe at the end when king Kai says south Kai has more options. you need fighters from your galaxy to fight for you. XD
Belly forgot that Vegeta was his father-in-law, eheheh.
I really love this channel KEEP IT UP BRO!!!!
10:23 one of the funniest moments in DBZA history 😂😂😂😂😂
Broly shouldve addressed trunks and told him....."I AM YOUR FATHER!!"
Goku paid tribute to One Punch Man.
Dustin Nunn more like issuing a challenge
Tbh I get Why he is mad about goku crying it’s really is the small things
I find the fact that even TFS missed the fact Broly has PTSD over being stabbed as a child and his triggers are crying infants, Kakarots appearance, and Kararot's name slightly alarming. I think if they noticed that tad bit of information in Broly's implied lore the movie could have been better. Takes away from the "He's so stupid" thing though.
Suicide Squad how dose kakarot remind him of getting stabed
It's not that complicated, I highly doubt anyone missed the subtext.
It doesn't make Broly any less shit.
Honestly though I think I would have liked it more if Vegeta had been the one to beat Broly in this.
So...um...why at the end did Broly's hair change from green to yellow?
01:18. Arlians were the bug people Vegeta blew up early in DBZ/DBZA.
The tfs vids have a subtitle option called english(canada) it makes it even funnier. Did not think it possible, really
Broly: Princess Trunks.
Trunks: Please no.
Broly: You lied to me.
Trunks: I did no such thing.
Broly: _You dirty boy._
Trunks and me:😳
So... DBZAbridged Goku has been showing a lot of _interest_ in Cell. Like, _interest_-interest. And Cell has been returning it, at least somewhat. And at the end of Broly Abridged, Chi Chi demanded a divorce. Are they going to 'ship Goku with Cell, now?
please put captions. rewinding and captions sounds like the future
Broly's power is "Maximum" was a really old meme
Hey spaz boys did you know Master roshi calls "Broly" "Broccoli" in the movie?
arleans in the DBZA canon are the bug ppl nappa made the king and queen mate in the 1st season
he said hug
DID YOU JUST SKIP THE ENDING MUSIC? BUT IT'S SO COOL... i mean it's dub but... IT IS SO COOL
BROLY POWER MAXIMUUUUUUUUUM!!! XD
Watch it with the English subtitles turned on haha
Goku crying was actually the reason Broly hated him in the original movie.
ExyleCage No shit?
Jay lol
