I took tkd when I was 17 and there was a kid in my class named Jackson, this kid did the stunts for the son on big momas house 2. Everytime you see the son jump off a bed or jump off the jungle gym it's little Jackson
She ducked out of the way of his all challenges gracefully, and hit him unerringly. All of her blows were elegant. No wonder she is black-belt(4th dan then?) and a 5 time Tae Kwondo world-champion(then). I think he(challenger) is better at grappling than hitting. He liked to wrestle when he was in highschool, didn't he? You could say that 'If he tried to use wrestling skill, it was possible to push her down.' But it was nothing but Tae Kwon Do sparring and he sparred fairly following the rule. She might have ducked out of the way of him with caution not to be pushed down. I think she can fight him cold-heartedly if she decide to. But in other place, she said she refused to hit him very hard and almost blows were just taps and fake. In this movie 0:14-0:16, surely almost blows seem to be fake. In this movie 0:30-0:34, she might have failed to pull some of her punches though.. And, before he challenged her, she must have been exhausted after sparring with many other persons. So, Probably it is no use to talk about another possibility in fight. They sparred fairly and with love. Being cheered up to hit him harder(he(challenger) also cheered up!), maybe she was forced to hit him a bit harder at last. It was high-kick to his chin -one of vital points. But not at nose. To avoid bleed? Looks like she managed to pull all her kicks including the last one. Soon after the last blow, she decided to quit the fight and gave him a big hug! And he proposed her. What a cute and heartwarming story... Thank you so much sharing this wonderful movie. I think it is one of the most marvelous movie about martial arts. It may be 'the most marvelous', not 'one of the most marvelous'. I wanted to watch before 0:00 and cutted part(0:54-0:55). And I wish I could catch the spoken words in the movie... It's sad that I'm very very poor at listening English...😢 I had found this movie about 5 years ago. (Probably it was almost as soon as it was shared.) And I was craving to know further stories. Time went by and just recently(2023/Feb), I found a bit further stories and felt really happy. (Shamefully, I had hard time concentrating my necessary items.) Congraturations! She and he are really beautiful person. To him, to see(and spar?) her in Tae Kwon Do may be one of the happiest time in his life. For that, maybe, he could endure any other hardship. To her, the life with him may be the best and happiest result in her Tae Kwon Do carrier. I think she's also a truly excellent and lovely nurse. It's as important as being a blackbelt world-champion in TKD. Please be nice to him and families forever! (I'm not good at English. Please forgive me for my English. And sorry for long sentence.)
He's holding his punches. He's intentionally bypassing opportunities because he won't hit her in the face, chest or groin area. If this were life or death he would charge her when she made contact, grapple her and most likely this would look very ugly but she would lose. If he went full out like you do with a man, even if he won he would lose in everyone's eyes and he knows it instinctively. He's smart enough to never actually say that out loud.
Not a single kick or punch hurt him, no blood even those kicks to the unprotected face... World champ but couldn't hurt anyone if life depends on it...tip tap garbage, and dropping the hands!!!! Wow!!
I found so much compassionate message from her to him. It began more than half a year before the sparring. There's no way she hurts him seriously, even if she is capable to do it. In the first place, she's a nurse. And he and she are working in the same hospital.
