- Today (the 23rd of February) we celebrate the 91st anniversary of the Red army. To commemorate this event I have uploaded video called The Soviet army is the Red army. Although Red army doesnt exist anymore, its highest and most noble traditions are uphold by army of Russian federation. We should remeber that.

My great-grandfather served, as did my grandfather, my father, my brother, and I. This video is excellent, both because it honors the Red Army, and also because this struck me in a way nearly no other videos have.

Amazing video, I really like the footage that you've collected for this, the video inspires me greatly when I need it most, it also makes me think of my grandfather who died in the siege of Leningrad as a soldier one of the few original soldiers left defending the city that where not armed civilians.
The soon to be heroic great-grandsons of the Russian heroes will continue the struggle of their forefathers in defending their motherland...

Dear friend, I have to tell you how grateful Im for your words. You see Red army choir is absolutely great and his performance is awesome. It is clear that this choir sings about glorious Red army and USSR, its logical because its army choir. Songs about war, heroic deeds and sacred motherland are just but a few themes from its repertoire. Woderful folk song, song from operas etc. show me another choir which can do that. Thats why I absolutely love it.

@Kalinin1917 they should , but the ''sons'' generation is too much if you ask me , anyway , the only ones who knew for what they were fighting are the ''great grandfathers'' . plus , not alot of trotsky in it ! none in fact , he founded the red army and is one of the greatest revolutionaries ever so , thats why i think he deserves more credit
Currently the great-grandchildren are fighting in Ukraine, I hope they celebrate this May 8 without problems despite everything

It's a shame that in your video you don't even give a second to the founder and first commander of the Red army...Leon Trotsky....i know you will say this is a video dedicated to the "soldiers" but yet you founded a way to put Stalin in the picture.Anyways,everyone has his personals thoughts on this man i suppose.The songs and videos are always enjoyable...thanks for posting.

The thing is, you have no primary sources backing up this claim. The fact is that Yeltsin had great Western pressures behind him to admit that the USSR was behind Katyn, to discredit the USSR and to introduce capitalism as its replacement. He had the political motivation to say that Katyn was done by the USSR, while the Soviets always said that they werent behind it. The soviets might have executed a couple of high ranking polish leaders for their crimes against humanity, but nothing else.

You know why Trotsky is not given credit for creating the Red Army, don't you
Kalinin1917 ? Are you not a student of Russian history? Stalin discredited him
for his "antiparty activities". In reality, it was Stalin vs. Trotsky and Stalin won
the struggle as Lenin's successor. Since then, every communist speaks with
contempt for Trotsky---although I think that is being unfair. He was a good
communist. But to oppose Stalin is like opposing God in communist semantics.
I disagree. I did not spend 20 years defending Capitalism, I fought for and defended Russia. I pledged to serve and protect Russia. My family has made that same pledge for nearly 500 years. We will fight for Russia. Whether it's the Grand Duchy of Moscow, the Tsardom of Russia, the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union, or the Russian Federation. We fight for our home and for our people.
The Polish government at the eve of the WWII was also a fascist government. Polish dreamed of alliance with Germany and invasion of Ukraine. AJP Taylor, one of the most famous English historians on WWII, also proved it in his book, "The Origin of WWII." Were it not for conflict over Danzig, Polish would have surely invaded USSR by German help. If Polish incerely want restoration of the old order that existed before WWII, the first thing they should do is to give back Danzig to Germans.
Don't forget during partition of Czechoslovakia, in which West powers favorably supported Nazi 'Drive into east', Soviet Union offered and planned coordination with Czechoslovakian army (France, Britain, Poland, Danes...etc refused) to counter any invasion. Austrian annexation, Czechoslovakian annexation and partition, all been supported by intentional contracts, most disgusting chapter in their, history that they are now trying to omit and forget by rewriting history books that you are reading.
Poles are always dreaming of the revival of the old empire. They never know peaceful coexistence with their neighbors. They always seek their allies from far away (mainly from Western imperialists) while antagonizing neighbors, which has always caused troubles in European history: Napoleonic War and WWII. Europe was most peaceful when Poland did not exist. What Bismarck commented on Italians applies best for Poles: "a man with so great appetite and with so poor teeth."
