I always tell my musician friends to "sing it like you mean it" Sydnie has perfect pitch and the natural skill to move between low, high, quiet and loud notes effortlessly and that rare ability to create volume without shouting! She hasn't found success prior to the after years & years of trying ! She didn't that amazing voice overnight ! There must be some reason why she hasn't succeeded prior to this show ! Not all stage professionals can be tone deaf or stupid , same with recording lables , Sydnie seems down to earth personally ! But there must be some reason everyone has rejected her to date . well...there are sooo many young singers around, auditioning for one role...it is just so hard to get a break like this...also I too don´t get that nobody realized her capacity and outstanding voice...well...unsiverse laws...what do we know? right time was now :-)

With respect, Judy Gsrland’s versions of “Over the Rainbow” (original film version and concert version) are the untouchable standards of singing artistry. Watch some RUclips video discussing the technical prowess with which she sings - she had natural voice control no one else has been able to master - and could make grown men men weep in live performances as she wrung every ounce of emotion from the song. I think Sydnie is great. Don’t get me wrong. But Judy Garland sang that song in 1939 and we still listen to her version 85 years later. Name another song from World War II that’s still heard today and still sings contemporary. It’s a singular performance. Thanks.

WHAT A VOICE! Knocked it out of the park, better than many, many many that we hear in the west end and on Broadway. Better than Susan Boyle!! @billyholly The Garland connections I sense are strong phrasing skills, genuine connection to the lyric (singing the words, not the notes) and building a connection with the audience with gestures, glances and facial expressions. Both seem to be deeply authentic people and it can be heard in their music.
Sydnie is so beautiful. Whoever did her makeup on her audition song did it perfectly. I need to see her eyes her lips her every facial expression when she sings her stories. This is a rare quality that projects out, influences and brings an elevation in one's inner self, sometimes called one's soul. To steal a quote from "Midnight In Paris," stated by the character Gertrude Stein, "The artist's job is not to succumb to despair but to find an antidote for the emptiness of existence."

I saw it from the beginning that she was meant to win!
I was a Sydnie skeptic at first (ashamed to admit), but now I see the error of my ways. Initially, I detected, or thought I detected, a certain amount of artifice and gimmickry in her style and persona, and the truth is, there may really be some of that; but underneath the veneer is talent even better than anything she might be pretending. Others have commented on her pitch, tone, control, stage presence, etc. But I will only add the kinds of "details" (they're much bigger than mere details, obviously) that bring her to such an extraordinary level: its the way the musicality and her voice connect not just with the specific meanings of the words she's singing, but her unbelievable sense of the physical sound of words like "BLUE" (in "skies are blue") and "DARE" in "dare to dream" (and "dream" in that phrase, for that matter): she picks on the "U" sound in "blue", and sings that vowel so piercingly you can feel her whole body behind it; and "dare" is other-worldy "heroic" in the affect she puts into it; and you then have the contrast of that heroic sound with the childlike - yet quasi-flirtatious - TENDERNESS of "bluebird" (picking up overtones from the "blue" in "bluebird"; still heroic, but "child-ized"), in which the consonants are slightly blurred for effect (semi-baby-talk style), hightening the vowels but in a more child-like way than in the heroic-anthemic rendition of "blue" in "skies are blue"); all these details are so perfectly crafted, sculpted, delivered to achieve not just the most extraordinary vocal effects, but to heighten the lyrical drama in a way that connects the words and music into the most powerful, compelling, exquisite story-telling, with layers, layers and layers of meaning and feeling poured into every note and every word.
