    Awesome Jeremy. I’d like to see a video of your land training setup sometime. 🤙🏻

    What kind of board you use? I mean is that a carbon enforced one or some other material? By the way its an awsome board playmobilstyle. Thank you as well for this well described video of the experience.

    Thanks! Was hoping that someone could do a video like this. Great with the slow motion and text, We are so many frustrated foilers out there. Frustrated watching pro´s hoping the board up and when we try it is like dragging a dead weight behind... Do you think you would be able to take off with a smaller wing? Less than (Go Foil Maliko 200) in these conditions? Bigger board? I Just want to get the right gear to start with and than practice practice 😁

      Yeah, I actually started with a 8'7" board and the first Go Foil Maliko 160 wing. The bigger board helps to gain momentum on small bumps before you start pumping. The smaller boards are better once you're up and going.

      I’ve started using narrower and longer boards. It really helps when popping up. Popped up on the NL 160 in flat water with a 6’2” x 21” Kalama board

    Hi Jeremy. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I weigh 70kg and use a RS1075 with a 14”SFT. Would you recommend the Kalama E3 5’9” 95L or 6’1” 105L? I will be using the board for winging about 60% of the time, as we live in windy Paracas, Peru. Plan to open up to downwinding this awesome region, as nobody is doing it yet.

    Ive heard this is ridiculously hard. People I’ve talked to rave about it….Next season will give it a go.

    Wow! Thanks for that detail. Would the M200 still be your learning wing of choice, or would you recommend one of the newer series wings?

    • @PaddleWithRiggs
      @PaddleWithRiggs  3 года назад

      The M200 or the GL240. Once you get the hang of taking off you can change to smaller foils. The extra lift of the big wings really help when you're learning to pop up.

    Does the paddle play a big part in this? I think I am used to a longer paddle. As deep as you squat and dig I think I'd be hitting the foil. I'm 6'. What length do you recommend? Thank you!

    • @PaddleWithRiggs
      @PaddleWithRiggs  3 года назад +2

      Yes. I shortened my paddle. It’s 3 inches longer than my height. The first couple strokes are deeper and the catch as further forward. As I start to get lifted the catch is shorter as well as the depth of the blade in the water

    Jeremy, how long should the paddle be for foiling? Same as regular sup paddles like one shaka over your head?

    • @PaddleWithRiggs
      @PaddleWithRiggs  3 года назад +1

      I like it to be 2-3 inches above my head

    How does mast position affect pop ups especially on shorter sups? Mine is 6ft, but feels draggy when trying to get glide.

    • @PaddleWithRiggs
      @PaddleWithRiggs  2 года назад

      I find it easier to pop up with the mast forward but i like how it rides with the mast just behind center.

  • @JeanMichelTrivi

    Jeremy, what mast size are you using for downwind? Same as for waves? (I'm on a 29")

    • @PaddleWithRiggs
      @PaddleWithRiggs  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Jean-Michel,
      I'm using the 29 for downwind and surf sessions. I'll use the shorter mast at shallow spots but I prefer to use the longer mast.
