    I blame Barbie movie for that one scene now I love this music so much, and of course the dance too.

    I LOVED watching Wayne and always looked forward to this as a really completely delightful highlight of all the show off dances in SL. Not only that but he is a perfectly lovely man, kind, positive, humble, just plain friendly in a very gentle way. I was writing home in the AC by the Met box office one afternoon. He came out through the front door, saw me there, walked over, and greeted me. Right. HE greeted ME and started a conversation, asking me how i was enjoying the ballet. Of course I was very awkward because I knew who he was and I could not believe that he would notice me. But i will never forget it, and I will always love him for it. He was also a wonderful and amazing Puck in “The Dream,” the gold standard in that role also. He was such a joy in everything in every way!

      It's different, but not bad. But, saying the truth it's rather the folk dance, it's very far from aristocrats' ball dancing

      Do you think it's because Wayne Sleep's energy and interpretation puts today's dancers to shame?

    • @serenevil
      @serenevil 2 года назад

      @@thelimelightcollective8431 I think it's because of proprietary info. I've seen a Lot of Swan Lakes and I've never seen a Neapolitan Dance with choreography like this. I'm pretty sure they realized that since they're pretty internet savvy for a ballet company.

    Oh my gosh!! I remember this set from a Swan Lake performance we had recorded on VHS in the 1980s!!! I wish I could find the full production somewhere on RUclips. My sisters and I wore the tape out watching it over and over and over. Happy memories.

    What a delicious dance Ashton contributed to this ballet. In every day life I normally watch men but in ballet and the cinema I look more at the expressive women, but here Wayne Sleep steals the show. I saw him in the street once in London and regretted that I couldn't present him with a flower.

    • @pediatrapaola

      me too knew him in london casually and had a conversation with him.a very nice friendly guy and and a phenomenal technician ,l saw him dancing often in late 70's in london and he was really strong .a pity really that his little ,very little size confined him in certain roles .but audience loved him anyway and me too loved his dancing.

    which version of swan lake is this? the footwork looks so insanely difficult

    • @JohnRaymondHall
      @JohnRaymondHall  6 лет назад +15

      it is the Royal Ballet - whatever version they were doing at the time - Sergeyev brought note books detailing chore and helped mount the classic at the RB - so based on a Russian production? and the footwork is cleanly done - crazy at that speed! just read on the ROH site "Choreography re-produced by: Nicholas Grigorievich Sergeyev"
