if you're having a lot of trouble with splitting/breaking, one thing you can try is switching out the nail hardener for a regular basecoat, cos hardeners can make the nails rly brittle
Hi, here is some advice for spilt nails for what it is worth. It sounds like your nails are too dry. Apply oil to your cuticles and under the nail bed at least twice a day. Your nails will become bendy (healthy nails bend and dry nails bend, then split or crack)and strong and there will not be a need for a hardener. I recommend two oils first add one that penetrates and the other that seals. Coconut, Olive or Avocado oil are great for penetrating oil. Any other oil is a sealant. You have a great Essie collection. Mine is ridiculously larger. My favorite color is purple as well. So for Spring Essie Lilacism, Summer Play Date, Fall Kimono- Over and Winter Under The Twilight. Favorite Sheer nude Sugar Daddy. Favorite nude combo Ballet Slippers over Mademoiselle. Favorite Reds Spring and Summer 5th Ave, Fall A List, Winter Bordeaux.
I have 18 Essies. The only colors we share are Merino Cool & Lady Godiva. My bottle of Lady Godiva actually came in the mail today. I also have their apricot oil. I use it once a day along with Burt's Bees' lemon butter cuticle cream.
I've heard that Essie have wide brushes in other countries. USA have the small horrible brushes. That's why so many people have problems with application.
Your video brought up so many Essie memories! :) Sand Tropez is one of my most used Essie colors; it's a perfect interview color or go-to neutral and Vanity Fairest is my favorite go-to natural nail look! I love Lilacism and Merino cool too. I've actual used Merino Cool multiple times; it's so good. You should try Smokin' Hot or the newest neutral Winning Streak. You'll most likely love it! Ooh... Essie's Wicked was one of my first vampy colors. Always a staple! You have a wonderfully classic and great collection
Sophia Truth so Essie has been holding out with the wide brush in the states huh which suck cause their brush and China glaze brush are really thin and suck
I love the colors for Essie and I am always SO MAD that I’m the US we have the crappy thin brushes. Professional grade line and dollar store brushes. So irritating!! Does anyone have experience maybe “reporting” them in a bottle with a better paddle like brush??? Maybe if we cleaned out the sally Hansen total manicure bottles...
Mack Miller Yeah, gel might be better for you. I would also try a good top coat. I never keep my nail color on for more than four days and I wear inm top coats and my nails never chip. Not bad for four days because I hear many people say that their polish chips after one day. I just bought my first gel polish, but I haven't tried it yet.
Essie is the best. All the shades you have are amazing.
I know right?? I love them all

I dig your nail polish style.

Essie creates bottles for salons( label on the bottom) and for retail (label on the top)
Thank you so much for the advice, I'll definitely give that a try! Sadly, most of the shades you mentioned aren't available in Israel :\

Here in Norway Lady Like is pink. I like yours better. :) And yes, we are blessed with wide brushes

did you say wide brushes??? huh, I've never seen an essie polish with a wide brush...
Really? All of mine have them :/
FashionWhatever what country do you live in? In the US they're all pretty thin but I know in other countries they only sell Essie with a wider brush
Zaina Barrera I live in Israel and all the Essie nail polishes here that are sold in stores have the wide brush, thank god lol
Sophia Truth so Essie has been holding out with the wide brush in the states huh which suck cause their brush and China glaze brush are really thin and suck

Nail polish is hard for me because I play guitar
That sucks :\ Have you tried a gel manicure?
