Watching this brought me to tears… as a little Black girl who loves The Arts, watching Rafaki perform at Fox Theatre was one of the highlights of my life. To see someone, who looked like me, on stage, in a fantastic leading role truly inspired me every day to pursue my passions.
I love how they made Rafiki female on broadway. He was great in the movie, but the actresses chosen for the musical are AMAZING! They really add new dimensions to the story.
She has the best voice I’ve ever heard. I’ve seen it twice and it’s just out of this world. The talent the cast has is immeasurable. I always get chills. Incredible ❤️
the broadway version of the lion king was the first and to date only musical i've seen live. i don't remember much of it but i believe my aunt's sister new someone in it and we got to go backstage afterwards. i unfortunately didn't appreciate it enough at the time
Seeing the makeup being put on was already enchanting me, but the final result with the costume and the background music gave me goose bumps and a faster heartbeat. I love this musical!
Amazing woman....have seen this theatre show 7 times now in London and every time it moves me to tears. Such good acting and great voice....she plays the part so so well...so believable and draws you into the character.
I went to high school with “Rafiki”’s son ☺️ I’ve never met his mom but it’s so sweet how her, the kid I went to HS with, and his dad were all in it together at one point!
