Thanks Harry! This weekend I bought one of these kits unboxed and without the assembly guide in a show bring-n-buy sale, so this was a really helpful video. All the best mate.
Funny that I built this kit, and didn't catch the gun shield error. Saw your video and so I went out and bought another kit to build it correctly. (I should also embarrassingly say that I put the crane on incorrectly as well on my first build. But I did it correctly in the second.) I really appreciate your video on this kit.
As I said, I had completed the video and was actually compressing it ready for upload. I was building the thumbnail graphic and spotted the gun issue. A bit of digging pulled up the Kubinka image and I guessed what had gone on. Luck it can be avoided just by modifying the assembly a bit. I have a second kit, so I'll try and build it with the shield up the right way.
Great build man! Love your english! :) I didn't noticed the gun issue, but I had some problems with the rear hull chain links fitting with the suspension. Looking forward for the jagpanther :)
@@danielmorgan1104 I had a chuckle at this! Pedro's comment is 5 years old, but it's easy to miss that when you're watching stuff online. The Maus is definitely out by now! I have a review up on here somewhere. I do love a Zvezda heavy tank kit! Thanks for watching this video.
Harry, awesome video as usual! Just a small ... probably clarification ...there is no bogging in V4. You just stop moving if you fail the cross check. (Technically it is bogging, but the term no longer exists in the game)
They did not actually keep the rule. You don't have a bogged down marker and the machines that failed to move can fire at their moved value. Of course that only counts if the commander did not use the Cross Here movement order but then if he used it no matter if you failed to cross or not you still cannot shoot.
So your movement is halted by the terrain if you fail your cross, but you can shoot as normal at your moving RoF. If you failed the move while using a Cross Here Movement order then the stricture that you cannot shoot after a Cross Here move still applies. However that works out the next turn the vehicle can try and move again - no need for an unbogging roll. But if you try and cross the terrain again you would roll a Cross again. Does that sound right?
Nope. It fires a rocket-propelled projectile. So it isn't a shell where the propellent gasses push the projectile out of the barrel, leaving the shell casing behind. The RW61 projectile is a rocket that launches out of the stubby tube. That's why it only has a short barrel. Artillery pieces accelerate the shell up the barrel but the push of the gasses stop as soon as it leaves the barrel. A rocket doesn't need this and keeps on accelerating as long as the propellant in the base of the rocket keeps burning. So the RW61 is a rocket. The RW in the name stands for Racketenwerfer - Rocket Launcher.

Glad I could help!

Glad the video was helpful. I think their issue is that the Kubinka example has the shield fitted upside-down. That was their main reference.
Great vid about an interesting vehicle! i am tempted. Again. Great spot on the gun mantlet error, i would have been clueless. cheers!

I got one of these I won’t paint it because I suck at painting but I will make some cheap foam diorama :)

Thanks. I had the problem with the rear hull as well. I would probably fit that part before the main hull next time. That might make a difference.
Very enjoyable vid, love the history bit :) must get 1 or 2 soon.
It was a fun build. Highly recommended.
when will be launch the zvezda maus?
No idea. I'm really looking forward to it. The Jagdpanther will probably be next, but no release dates yet.
The Maus is already out. I have the kit and built it. It's not a bad kit to build.

Thanks Asen. I hadn't realised the term wasn't used in 4th edition. I'll keep that in mind. :-)
Why keep the rule but not the name that really bogs me ^^
They did not actually keep the rule. You don't have a bogged down marker and the machines that failed to move can fire at their moved value. Ah ok thx for clearing that up, was still my favourite word for a rule though kind of woody sounding ... bogged down ^^

In the end it - the original vehicle -was nothing but a grave for ressources.
Yep. That's a lot of armour and resources that should have gone into straight tank production.
Oh sorry you explain it at the end of the vid :)
Whoops. I wrote my reply before I saw you found the answer.
Fog of War No worries man :)
Rocket launcher???isnt it a howitzer?
