Hi. Thanks for your comment and advice. The tow vehicle was a 2006 VW golf. It was an automatic. Sadly the gearbox went wrong.

FINE BUSINESS! What was that tow vehicle? CHEERS from HERE! PS The Whale---tail would get you up on plane quicker and keep you up at a lower RPM, You may have hit a length of kelp.Simce it only occured once I dont think it was the prop slipping on the rubber slip-hub

On a little boat like that you really should be attached to the kill cord. If you all got flung out of it the boat would go round and round in the water and eventually mow you all down / chip you up with the propeller. That really does happen. Look up padstow speed boat accident. And that thing was much bigger than yours. Enjoy the boat though.

Hi Phil. 1981 40hp Mariner. We have some history and believe the engine is an ex RNLI engine. Very reliable.

Unfortunately, the CJR isn't a very good sea boat. Don't take it out on anything above a force 2 because it will slam so hard it will rattle your teeth !!

Yes I agree. Found very stable on Anchor with 4 of us fishing, but like you say a bit 'bangy' on the go. I also have a mariner 140 and that is lovely at speed.
