    Ayngelina, as a Colombian myself it was a great eye opener to a culture we barely know about and witness the progress of Palenque and the liftoff to be a natural tourist attraction less touristy than Cartagena. At this point clearly you have discover that the black Latin american culture is different than the one in North America mainly for the approach to the people (it's hard to explain), while black Americans tend to generalize as we are the same, they say.

    • @ayngelina
      @ayngelina  Год назад +2

      Yes definitely a different culture. I follow the Mitu page on Facebook and occasionally they will share articles about Afrolatino culture and their own struggle to be seen as Latino because they don't "look it" according to others. Palenque is also the first place where I realized South American history continues to celebrate the stories of the Spanish, and if we look at its heroes like Bolívar and Sucre in Ecuador they were born in South America but still of Spanish descent and their revolution or liberation was so they didn't have to pay their mother country anymore. But even as their gained independence it was only for the offspring of the Spanish whereas the Black and Indigenous continued to struggle for their own rights and path to equality. But that story isn't told because it's not as glorious as Gran Colombia.

      @@ayngelina it just makes me laugh when black Americas travel to Latin America and address to them as "brothers', what about the music (they should like hip hop, they say), what about the food (they must like hamburgers too), and the simple approach to other people, the black American attitude (being aggressive, pushy, challenging..), that is not Latin American black, call that a huge culture trait gap between those groups; Let you know I'm not racist.

    • @ayngelina
      @ayngelina  Год назад +1

      Oh definitely I understand that 😊

      No I really appreciate it. I think as a creator there's always a desire to grow and evolve. I think you'll see this even more as I visit Bali and more touristic areas in Indonesia where I try to seek out more local, authentic experiences and food in areas where people are just looking to take an Instagram photo and move on.

    Uno de mis dulces favoritos es el dulce de pechiche, capaz en colombia también lo hagan ya que veo que tienen, acá solo se come en dulce y es super rica pero solo sale en una época del año la fruta.
