- Amnon Weinstein, a luthier who died on March 4, 2024 at age 84, honored the memories of those who perished in the Holocaust by restoring dozens of string instruments that were played by Jewish prisoners in Nazi concentration camps. In this "Sunday Morning" story that originally aired December 6, 2015, Serena Altschul talked with Weinstein about his mission, and reported on a special concert by the Cleveland Orchestra performed on Weinstein's "Violins of Hope."

I always loved the sound of the violin ! ❤️♥️
Thank you for sharing this story again ❤
Wonderful story, thank you, great music too. Thank you for highlighting the art of classical music in a very meaningful way. Well done.
I read about them years ago.
These instruments have incredibly important historical value. They speak when played.
Hopefully there is also empathy for the civilians of Gaza today, independent of the religion
And Hamas will fight to the end.
Who to blame?
Beautiful collection of instruments. Israel doing everything it can to undermine the stockpile sympathies of WW2
