  • Hello and welcome back to our channel.
You join us today in Builth Wells where we are planning two days of riding the back roads around the Elan Valley and Llyn Brianne Dam and reservoir. Our guest house is great and the owner is a biker so was happy to allow us to store our bikes in his garage.
In this ride, we leave Builth riding west up the Devil's Staircase to the Brianne Reservoir. This area of Wales is simply stunning. Single-track roads which meander through jaw dropping landscapes that compare favourably with anywhere in the world.
We continue alongside the reservoir to the Llyn Brianne Dam before heading off for lunch at the Owl's Nest, a very popular bikers cafe in Llandovery.
This video covers around 40 miles of a 100 mile ride which took the whole day. We'll post the second half of the ride in a couple of weeks.
If you are planning a trip to Wales, do consider the Elan Valley area. Vet and I both agree that it's probably the most stunningly beautiful part of Wales you could visit. 10/10 from us.

Rode this route exactly during July 2024. Deceptively stunning, wonderful scenery. Would happily ride it again, 👌🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏍️

Did the same route back in the summer on my Versys 1k. Loved it.

Loved our Versys 1K but really hated the colour. More recent bikes have a much nicer shade of green than the candy coloured one I had. Not sure why I bought a bike in a colour I didn't really like, however I did once buy a Kawasaki KH400 in candy purple.

Every time I watch your videos it makes me closer to clicking buy on a v-strom. Need to explore these little side roads that just aren't suitable for my Tuono. Another nice vid 👍
