    Hi Miles Kvndra. Thank you for your videos and your tutorials wich are very usefull. I thought maybe for your fill problem ( use both hands) you can use : " page + yes " or " yes + page " wich will block your fill .

      Hey Arthur, many thanks for the feedback and the hint! Already tried that but it just feels more natural for me to hold down the fill button and release it to have more immediate control. Would need some kind of MIDI solution to send stuff between the two machines. But cheers! :)

    Great tutorial again 🤗! Curious about longer sets with several songs. Btw you can rename your patterns that now are 'untitled' into verse or chorus/rise. 😊 That helps as well for organising. 🎵🎵🎵🎵

      Hey Andrea, thanks a lot for your feedback! Yeah I'm currently working on more jams to get a set together and then maybe do a live performance with the combo - would love that! Yeah I know that with the renames but I'm sometimes too lazy haha. But definitely need to get this on because as the jams get more and more it's important to stay organized, like you said. I assume this can be applied to a digitone/octotrack combo. I know the digitakt and octotrack are slightly different but would you know of any limitations with the way the digitakt is used here in comparison to an octotrack?

    • @MilesKvndra
      @MilesKvndra  2 года назад

      Hmmm that's a good question as I don't know the Octatrack in detail and I can't answer this yet for sure. I just know limitations the Digitakt has compared to the Octatrack (mono samples, sample time, inputs, etc).

  • @JDVVV378
    @JDVVV378 3 года назад +1

    Great Miles! So what i see that you can use more then 8 tracks on both machines if you work with more patrerns ? And use a different sound in a different patern.

    • @MilesKvndra
      @MilesKvndra  3 года назад +1

      Hey Jdv, that's correct. You've 8 sample tracks on the Digitakt and 4 synth tracks on the Digitone. And each pattern in a bank can be completely separate from the others, you can also have a different BPM in each pattern. Great creative possibilities! 💚

  • @PaulSalamoneComedy
    @PaulSalamoneComedy 3 года назад +1

    Great rundown! I like especially the idea of the transition tracks and also sampling the DN’s excellent drum sounds. Question: how do you record your tracks while maintaining the Digitakt’s track panning? I record individual tracks over USB with Ableton and Overbridge, but because the tracks are mono none of the panning info gets preserved. Still trying to find a solution to this other than having to manually set the panning on the Ableton tracks themselves…

    • @MilesKvndra
      @MilesKvndra  3 года назад +1

      Hey Paul, thank you so much for the feedback! Yeah these are great opportunities to have with these devices. Regarding the recording process I usually record the stereo sum of both devices into my mobile recording device or into Ableton. I do most of my mixing directly in the machines and the Digitakt now having a second filter with the latest firmware makes this even easier. Then I master my jams in iZotope Ozone. Quite happy with the results I get but I see the point in recording all tracks separately. Way more flexibility in terms of mixing!

    Hi miles, what are you thoughts on the Analog Heat or other methods of dawless sound processing?

    • @MilesKvndra
      @MilesKvndra  3 года назад

      Hey John, that is a really good point and exactly what I'm currently thinking about. The Heat looks like a great solution and it's currently really high on my list. But I'm also thinking about getting something more versatile like for example the ZOIA. What are your thoughts on this? Have a great Saturday! :)

    wie könnte man den Digitone Sidechain(en)/ das simulieren ? bestünde da eine Möglichkeit , wie beim tr8s ,dass is momentan der einzige Grund warum ich den tr8s noch nutze , wollte mir jetzt auch einen Digitakt zulegen weil der Elektron Workflow einfach Liebe ist

    • @MilesKvndra
      @MilesKvndra  3 года назад

      Moin Sebastian, guter Punkt: das geht bei den Digis aktuell nur über nen Workaround mit den LFOs. Da kannst du den Ramp Mode auf die Lautstärke anwenden und dann auf Viertel-Noten einstellen, sodass der Effekt dann bei ner FOTF Kick jedes mal eintritt. Aber natives Sidechaining gibt es leider nicht. Und beim Workflow gebe ich dir total recht: Der Elektron Workflow ist wirklich Liebe 💚💚

  • @logikslave
    @logikslave 3 года назад +2

    Miles, this is excellent! It just reignited my inspiration for the Digitakt. What do you think about running Digitone outs into Digitakt Ext Ins since the 1.3 update? and use the master compressor and effects that way? and are the external ins sum the signal to mono on the digitakt or does it pass through in stereo to the FX ->Comp->Ouput?

    • @MilesKvndra
      @MilesKvndra  3 года назад +1

      Hey man, thanks so much! The new update on the Digitakt offers great new possibilities: I've not tried it yet but I think now the ins are stereo which is super dope and I'll definitely try to route the Digitone into the Digitakt to make use of the compressor on the Digitone's sounds. :) Cheers!
