It's gona get hairy...You can check out the official Winds of Magic trailer here - ruclips.net/video/fH44gLzRLpc/видео.html& Beastmen are crazy strong at the moment on Legend and Cata, their hordes are extremely dense and hard to cleave through, their attacks have long range and quick animations, the Wargor can be incredibly difficult to deal with, and Minotaurs are straight nasty! Definitely a challenge to fight which is always fun. They might be a little overtuned in their current form but all my impressions are based on a handful of runs since the DLC went live, and all my reactions were in the heat of the moment so take it with a grain of salt, we shall see how everything shakes out once we get some more experience under our belts!
This DLC is heavily overpriced at $20, cata has no rewards unlike what they promised in the beta, weaves and leaderboards were nothing that a vast majority of the community wanted; we want real new maps not recycled map assets with modifiers, it costs 1000 essence to unlock a weapon in WoM and a lot more to upgrade it and we can’t use it outside of WoM None of the new weapons have illusions and multiple known bugs that were reported in the betas still went live on top of all the awful changes to talents and combat Also you can’t see beastmen unless your the host which is just really dumb, you pay $20 and you can’t even get access to a major selling point of this dlc unless your the host, if someone in your party has access to the dlc then you should encounter beastmen

5:12 Pulling the sword activates Beastmen because you can't pull it out, and they know you're not the once and future king, so they come to punish you for trying to usurp the throne. Nice to see I wasn't the only one caught off guard by how much the Beastmen wreck my shit. Looks like they don't have specials, though, which is the one thing Chaos and Skaven have on them.
The Skaven have the pack mentality and numbers but are weak, chaos have armor and power but low numbers while beastmen are the perfect combination of the 2 but coupled with pure ferocity.
I'd like to see chaos warriors butting heads with bestigors. You know what'd be really cool though? Watching a Rat Ogre and Minotaur wrestling eachother and then having like some 3 way battle, but I'm just dreaming now XP
A few things: -Stagger is now one of the most important features of the game, triggering large damage boosts. High stagger weapons and push attacks are in. -Shields have gotten a lot of buffs to potentially get them back in the meta again. They can block all boss attacks, better dodging, better stagger. -Most mods still work. Numeric UI, Chat Block, Sticky Grim, Reroll Improvements and Crosshairs Fix being some of the most useful. -Sadly, UI Improvements, Loadout Manager, Damage Indicator Tweaks, Weapon Kill Counter, and Bestiary/Armory are confirmed to crash.
UI improvement doesn't crash for me, but it does send a lot of error messages in chat while browsing Okri book, and there are problems with incomplete/complete tabs. Honestly, this is the most important mod for me, the efficiency it provides for inventory management is unmatched, so I hope it gets updated soon
@@XCAL1BR0 One of my most important mods too. I think I had a crash when I changed gear on a career different from the current one. I'll give it another shot. Kind of sucks we'll have to wait for the 4th approval wave. I miss my loadouts and my green damage arrows.

i fully agree. there is always one guy left hitting you, even when you go all out on push and cleave just because they pack so insanly tight in some spots
I hope they keep it this difficult and in fact raise the skaven & chaos to match the beastmen. In time we will discover more optimized builds in the game will be more satisfying.
I was hoping for the beastmen to be the rushdown Meatheads they are. In all honesty, I'd like them to just be better than the other two factions. That's just me though
That big scorched area is as far as I've made it for now as well. I really like the balance changes; combat feels a lot meatier and impactful. I wish Wargors were given more distinct models closer to the lore.
This might sound bad, but I'm glad to see I'm not the only one struggling with beastmen. They seems to group up and attack so fast. Plus those spear guys reach through and smash you when they are clumped together. So frustrating. I know you're a very good player, so seeing you having a bit of trouble with them gives me hope that I'm not just terrible.
hey milkandcookies, beside the charge, how would you describ the minautor compared to the stadard rat ogre? From an external point of view, he pretty much look like a more focused RO but with similare range and patern. Thanks in advance
Hey Gabriel, that fight near the beginning of the video is the only one I've had so far with a Minotaur, so I still dont know much about its playstyle or attack animations, besides it being very aggressive obviously ;P Once I fight it some more I'll be able to answer that question better
With the small down side with how hoards spawn in that map im gonna enjoy carving a path against beastmen as my Slayer build, its gonna be so fun and painful
Oh man the beastmen are ridiculously tough, especially when they do that flag stupidity they just don;t die, even the ungors need at least 2 hits to die. Also the specials and the elites are spawning like crazy in champion
Looks badass and needing a wee bit of tuning. On the topic of lacking specials, Fatshark could have added a bray shaman as another magic special. Fast moving (like hook rat fast) caster with no teleport and an AOE attack that slows/roots (2-3 seconds) while dealing DOT(5seconds) twice (like the gas rat) before needing to scuttle away and reposition. If you get hit by the AOE twice. It doesn't stack but it resets the DOT and CC debuff.
INDY....the prologue opening is nice.. I hit the wrong one and was play recruit ditn see anyone from heirs channel playing this -nothing says I wish I was eating popcorn at pacers like getting 2 friendly grenades' on you surrounded by raties -my shade runs out of ammo too so fast in a hurry then finds 3 or 2 so hard ot get 15 again.
That into pretty much sums up every time I see something cool about VT and go to play it. Wow that looks awsome 'opens game' god damn fucking blightstormer!

@@Flourikum This big update released already. The 2.0 update coming with it has already dropped. It talked about fixing spawning issues but they have gotten WORSE than ever with entire patrols once again spawning right on top of people. Special spawning is once again like every dam update completely nuts right now. So no the update is not in beta. It is live thank you. You can go read the patch notes. Everything is already in place including the "reworked aka much worse" talent trees. Especially considering i have already booted up the game and experienced it myself. You should really double check things before you try to correct someone. All they are doing now is some fine tuning with the folks messing with the winds of magic, the update itself is already in the game.
@@Steelgrey666 Essentially everyone got the same shit for talents, and staggering is the only meta. A lot of classes have become useless. Ironbreaker is the only class I have decent success with now, and I used to play most classes on Legend.
I played rather comfortably on a potato (i5-3470, gt 640, 8gb ram) for 3 month on minimal settings. Now i'm on optimal rig (ryzen 5 2600, RX 580, 16gb ram. Far from high-end) playing with better fps on max settings. No need for a "very strong computer". As for whether the game is worth buying: if you like this type of games (since you're watching a video on it) definitely worth a try. It's on sale until july 19th, and the online population has increased greatly thanks to this sale + new dlc, so now would is a good time to join.
In the end times, I don't think they'd have a problem fighting alongside eachother, especially because the skaven are kind of like a cousin species of beastmen if I'm not mistaken. During downtime though, I could imagine they'd slap each other around a bit, but would make for a good team considering the rats would live beneath the surface, ideally staying out of beastmen affairs for the most part, until it's time to fight.
Before AOS, I think, there are a few times Beastmen and Skaven do fight each other. One is because Skaven stole a herdstone from beastmen. But other then that idk

I hope they don't nerf beastmen, they should be tough and I think the minatour should have to be focused on quick unlike other mini bosses u can dodge easy or play with them, this guy u should need burst damage heroes like BH, shade or wizard to burn him down fast. or save potion and grenades for sure. I like a challenge and often saw the other mini bosses to easy most of the time to deal with and even easier with the right group, this new mini boss guy should force people to burst him down to beat him easy.
They basically nerfed our attacks, cleave and stagger, meaning that if you walk up to an enemy and smash him in the face, he will not flinch or react at all, and will just be activated, and start attacking you. It just looks fucking stupid. The enemies also had their health and damage buffed. Also, we are forced to push an enemy first before we actually attack, for some reason the devs want us to play this way. Again, it also looks so stupid and makes the combat very slow and silly. Alot of people have refunded the game and stopped playing in protest, including me. Its bad enough that the player count for this game is awful (1600 players worldwide). I'd suggest to stay away from this game, at least for now.
Fucking brutal is that 2 times we have managed to do the map and when the ritual is broken in the end , when the map is basically done the host gets dc (different hosts)... WTF FATSHARK !!!
The sub reddit is so ridiculously negative, lots of "I'm quitting forever" posts after a few hours of gameplay. I honestly don't get it, staggering enemies isn't as required as people seem to think, I still have no issues just blending things with normal dps builds. That aside there's some questionable decisions, like every season resetting your gear progress for weaves, no alternate illusions for the new weapons, no new cosmetics besides some art and no increased rewards for cataclysm. The gameplay honestly feels fine to me though, I think people just need to try a bit more and adapt.

Horrible decisions made by the devs, worthless mode spent half a year in development, nobody at fatshark has any idea what they should be doing, none of them understand what the community wants? Thinking about it, this map is the hardest i have ever experienced in all of vermintide 2: beast men are OP, and specials spawn everywere at any time they feel like. I think fatshark did this so that people start to coordinate more, but man that will take a long time.
So I'm hearing a lot of issues with now OP shields and dodging is essentially useless - this true? The talent tree looked better during the betas but I've heard lots of complaining. Seems like rather than harder it's just more slogging
dodging is definitely not useless, you just cant spam it nonstop while soloing a horde without teammates nearby and expect not to get hit. the game is definitely harder and requires more teamwork/coordination now. there are lots of things about this update I dont like but theres also a lot of hyperbole and incorrect information floating around as well. ill try and share my thoughts on the DLC overall soon

I've tried all night and can't beat this map. Seriously for the last 8 hours. We did finnaly made it to final boss and right as he was about to die....the game crashed. I'm so frustrated with this map right now
brutal is the community.... when you clutch the run 3 times as last man standing, then at the fkin final of the mission the host drops the 4th time and rage quits and all your effort is turned to dust
That can be frustrating. Right now Dark Omens has a glitch where (on Legend) if the Minotaur is still alive at the end of the final event the session will crash. First time it happened, I thought it was a trolling host. Second time, I just wanted to die.

i mean you joke but a lot of boss attacks are blockable ;P typically the ones that track really well and are fast dont damage through block because its very hard to avoid damage otherwise. Bestigors were able to deal damage with their charge through block on the beta and that got changed because it was essentially unvoidable in a lot of situations
good thing there was a beta where testers gave plenty of informations to devs what needs to be changed and balanced to make this dlc playable before launch ....................... OH WAIT : D tldr dont buy this dlc
I didn’t play the dlc but I’m updated with the new partch/version and the graphics and animations look waaaaay worse now.... Hard to describe but the guy on my team was noticing the same thing. I really hope they can fix this. EDIT: the graphics issue is resolved by setting it back to DIRECTX 12. It had re-set to 11 and that’s why the graphics sucked.
Armesis P I didn’t realize it had reset to DirectX 11 in the settings. I changed it to DirectX 12 and it looks awesome again. I’m still not big on the combat changes though.
They ruined the Slayer so hard. Temporary life now barely works with dual axes, the leap has weird physics and he has 30 HP less... The most melee class of the game has the lowest amount of HP... wtf Fat Shark ??? At least the throwing axes are awesome but still, it's a pain in the ass to play melee now.
it looks great but its just doubling down on the games fundamental flaw - the players are OP and rather than weaken the players they just keep throwing more at them. its reached ridiculous levels. but instead of taking advantage of this dlc to fix it they offer 5 more levels, more traits, skills, weapons, etc to further OP the players. in every way possible except graphics vt1 is far superior.
Never have I read a comment so poorly thought and researched. The new patch made the players WEAKER and the game is subsequently unfun. I have no clue where you got the 5 more levels from, when only one is on offer. There is no new traits and the new skills are incredibly underwhelming.

New Progression System - All new, and separate Winds of Magic specific progression system along with Weave Forged versions of all weapon types. so there you go level cap raised by 5 traits on weapons have changed with the weave forged versions of weapons words have meaning and i chose my words with great care to reflect exactly what i mean. why not take the time to comprehend and maybe do a lil research on your own instead of being intellectually lazy and just throwing out accusations at others. eh? and to repeat the problem with the game is that the players are so strong. the only solution the dev's had before was to throw more at them. this isnt my opinion. the devs have admitted it on the fatshark forum in "balancing" the game. they had problems presenting a challenge to competent players because they were so much stronger than reckoned on. so the dev's decided to increase wave sizes, frequency of waves, armor usage, and frequency of specials as well as multiple special spawns at same time. again, not just my opion but that of vt2 dev's and openly discussed on the forum. if you read you would know.... my point is that this is counter intuitive. they are creating an arms race. stronger enemies need stronger tools to fight need stronger enemies to challenge ... and it goes on forever. it would be much simpler and easier to just rip ALL of the skills and toss them. no more. simply the traits of weapons so no more meta builds possible, just go back to vt1 traits and leave it. then cut the horde sizes, cut the frequency of the waves, cut the number of specials, etc. balance it THAT way. then it is much easier to introduce new things that can challenge. its a ton easier than throwing ever more and bigger. im sorry you find being other than OP "unfun". it sounds to me like you are the sort to enjoy playing games on very easy settings so you can "win" without overt risk of losing and enjoy vt2 so much because you can have that same "no risk of losing" at a "harder" setting. it makes you feel "big". ok tough guy.
maybe the reason you feel "weaker" now is because you are again at the bottom of a level and trait and skill curve. but rest assured you will feel like thor again by the time you get maxed out.

And I find chaos other than the berserker and the chaos spawn to be slower in attacks and movement

2 years late but beastmen weakness is their lack of diversity. Skaven and Norsca have around 12 unique enemies, while beastmen only have around 6 or 7

Minotaurs are beast (pun intended) in Total Warhammer, and they're still beast in Vermintide 2. And this video shows why XD
They are good in Vermintide 2, but they lack the dive roll attack that they have in Total War Warhammer.

It talked about fixing spawning issues but they have gotten WORSE than ever with entire patrols once again spawning right on top of people. Special spawning is once again like every dam update completely nuts right now.
So no the update is not in beta. It is live thank you. You can go read the patch notes. Everything is already in place including the "reworked aka much worse" talent trees.
Especially considering i have already booted up the game and experienced it myself.
You should really double check things before you try to correct someone. All they are doing now is some fine tuning with the folks messing with the winds of magic, the update itself is already in the game.
@@Steelgrey666 Essentially everyone got the same shit for talents, and staggering is the only meta. A lot of classes have become useless. Ironbreaker is the only class I have decent success with now, and I used to play most classes on Legend.

If you have a very strong computer, yes. With the amount of enemies on the screen, and the corpses they leave, you're gonna need it.

I played rather comfortably on a potato (i5-3470, gt 640, 8gb ram) for 3 month on minimal settings. Now i'm on optimal rig (ryzen 5 2600, RX 580, 16gb ram. Far from high-end) playing with better fps on max settings. No need for a "very strong computer".
As for whether the game is worth buying: if you like this type of games (since you're watching a video on it) definitely worth a try. It's on sale until july 19th, and the online population has increased greatly thanks to this sale + new dlc, so now would is a good time to join.

Makes a lot of classes useless, and everyone is railroaded to build classes gaining damage on staggers.
Why are the skaven and beast men not bothered by each other? (lore wise)
In the end times, I don't think they'd have a problem fighting alongside eachother, especially because the skaven are kind of like a cousin species of beastmen if I'm not mistaken.
During downtime though, I could imagine they'd slap each other around a bit, but would make for a good team considering the rats would live beneath the surface, ideally staying out of beastmen affairs for the most part, until it's time to fight.
Before AOS, I think, there are a few times Beastmen and Skaven do fight each other. One is because Skaven stole a herdstone from beastmen. But other then that idk

So I heard the latest update completely destroyed the balance of the game. Was considering buying but base game on steam for £6 but judging by steam reviews regarding newest version, might leave it
6£ is s relatively good price. The game is by no means bad, it's just upset a lot of old time players. You probably wouldn't even notice the changed considering you've never played it yet. I'd say get it, especially of it's that cheap

I blazed through it on Veteran. I’d recommend the middle ground of Champion. Don’t go Legendary until you know the enemy.

I hope they don't nerf beastmen, they should be tough and I think the minatour should have to be focused on quick unlike other mini bosses u can dodge easy or play with them, this guy u should need burst damage heroes like BH, shade or wizard to burn him down fast. or save potion and grenades for sure. I like a challenge and often saw the other mini bosses to easy most of the time to deal with and even easier with the right group, this new mini boss guy should force people to burst him down to beat him easy.
can someone explain to me how they changed the combat in the newest update? Im new to the game and cant find answers.
They basically nerfed our attacks, cleave and stagger, meaning that if you walk up to an enemy and smash him in the face, he will not flinch or react at all, and will just be activated, and start attacking you. It just looks fucking stupid. The enemies also had their health and damage buffed.
Also, we are forced to push an enemy first before we actually attack, for some reason the devs want us to play this way. Again, it also looks so stupid and makes the combat very slow and silly. Alot of people have refunded the game and stopped playing in protest, including me. Its bad enough that the player count for this game is awful (1600 players worldwide). I'd suggest to stay away from this game, at least for now.

Fucking brutal is that 2 times we have managed to do the map and when the ritual is broken in the end , when the map is basically done the host gets dc (different hosts)... WTF FATSHARK !!!
if the Minotaur was still alive at the end thats probably what caused it, theres a bug with that that causes crashes from what I understand

The sub reddit is so ridiculously negative, lots of "I'm quitting forever" posts after a few hours of gameplay.
I honestly don't get it, staggering enemies isn't as required as people seem to think, I still have no issues just blending things with normal dps builds.
That aside there's some questionable decisions, like every season resetting your gear progress for weaves, no alternate illusions for the new weapons, no new cosmetics besides some art and no increased rewards for cataclysm.
The gameplay honestly feels fine to me though, I think people just need to try a bit more and adapt.
The same cancer is all over Dead by Daylight and even Path of Exile. Simply fuck Reddit and it's general cancerous community.

The devs are doing their own shit and never listen to the community. They seem to only cater to hardcore players like jsat. The new combat is simply not fun, the weapons feel like wooden canes now.

I've only played it 3 times so far, we tried to duo run with bots once and then the mix of these two runs with pubs

Thinking about it, this map is the hardest i have ever experienced in all of vermintide 2: beast men are OP, and specials spawn everywere at any time they feel like. I think fatshark did this so that people start to coordinate more, but man that will take a long time.
So I'm hearing a lot of issues with now OP shields and dodging is essentially useless - this true?
The talent tree looked better during the betas but I've heard lots of complaining.

dodging is definitely not useless, you just cant spam it nonstop while soloing a horde without teammates nearby and expect not to get hit. the game is definitely harder and requires more teamwork/coordination now. there are lots of things about this update I dont like but theres also a lot of hyperbole and incorrect information floating around as well. ill try and share my thoughts on the DLC overall soon

I've tried all night and can't beat this map. Seriously for the last 8 hours. We did finnaly made it to final boss and right as he was about to die....the game crashed. I'm so frustrated with this map right now
The exact same thing just happened to me, the teleportation zone was going to appear and then the host crashed.

That can be frustrating. Right now Dark Omens has a glitch where (on Legend) if the Minotaur is still alive at the end of the final event the session will crash. First time it happened, I thought it was a trolling host. Second time, I just wanted to die.

i mean you joke but a lot of boss attacks are blockable ;P typically the ones that track really well and are fast dont damage through block because its very hard to avoid damage otherwise. Bestigors were able to deal damage with their charge through block on the beta and that got changed because it was essentially unvoidable in a lot of situations

I didn’t play the dlc but I’m updated with the new partch/version and the graphics and animations look waaaaay worse now....
Hard to describe but the guy on my team was noticing the same thing. I really hope they can fix this.
EDIT: the graphics issue is resolved by setting it back to DIRECTX 12. It had re-set to 11 and that’s why the graphics sucked.
I feel the same, it just looks and plays worse now, and I hate how they nerfed our weapons and cleave. Its just shit now.

I didn’t realize it had reset to DirectX 11 in the settings. I changed it to DirectX 12 and it looks awesome again. I’m still not big on the combat changes though.

They ruined the Slayer so hard. Temporary life now barely works with dual axes, the leap has weird physics and he has 30 HP less... The most melee class of the game has the lowest amount of HP... wtf Fat Shark ???
At least the throwing axes are awesome but still, it's a pain in the ass to play melee now.

it looks great but its just doubling down on the games fundamental flaw - the players are OP and rather than weaken the players they just keep throwing more at them. its reached ridiculous levels. but instead of taking advantage of this dlc to fix it they offer 5 more levels, more traits, skills, weapons, etc to further OP the players.
in every way possible except graphics vt1 is far superior.

The new patch made the players WEAKER and the game is subsequently unfun. I have no clue where you got the 5 more levels from, when only one is on offer. There is no new traits and the new skills are incredibly underwhelming.

words have meaning and i chose my words with great care to reflect exactly what i mean. why not take the time to comprehend and maybe do a lil research on your own instead of being intellectually lazy and just throwing out accusations at others. eh?
and to repeat the problem with the game is that the players are so strong. the only solution the dev's had before was to throw more at them. this isnt my opinion. the devs have admitted it on the fatshark forum in "balancing" the game. they had problems presenting a challenge to competent players because they were so much stronger than reckoned on. so the dev's decided to increase wave sizes, frequency of waves, armor usage, and frequency of specials as well as multiple special spawns at same time. again, not just my opion but that of vt2 dev's and openly discussed on the forum. if you read you would know....
my point is that this is counter intuitive. they are creating an arms race. stronger enemies need stronger tools to fight need stronger enemies to challenge ... and it goes on forever.
it would be much simpler and easier to just rip ALL of the skills and toss them. no more. simply the traits of weapons so no more meta builds possible, just go back to vt1 traits and leave it. then cut the horde sizes, cut the frequency of the waves, cut the number of specials, etc. balance it THAT way.
then it is much easier to introduce new things that can challenge. its a ton easier than throwing ever more and bigger.
im sorry you find being other than OP "unfun". it sounds to me like you are the sort to enjoy playing games on very easy settings so you can "win" without overt risk of losing and enjoy vt2 so much because you can have that same "no risk of losing" at a "harder" setting. it makes you feel "big". ok tough guy.
maybe the reason you feel "weaker" now is because you are again at the bottom of a level and trait and skill curve. but rest assured you will feel like thor again by the time you get maxed out.
I hate this dlc and update with a passion, ruined the ENTIRE fucking game for experienced and non-casual players, its honestly infuriating.
