Those dogs are no simple pet either, don't forget that! They need space, they need congeneers, a pack, they need exercice. A lot of them end up in shelters because they are difficult to raise, they have special needs and are NOT for everyone. Don't be selfish, yes they are beautiful but if you can't give them the life they need, take another breed. And try a shelter, they are full of wonderful and unlucky dogs.
Thanks for pointing that out to people. The creator of the vid should have spent another minute to talk about those facts to avoid more dogs ending up in shelters.
Agreed my gf & I have always gone to the shelters because there are always some wonderful animals who need love and a good home. We always ask about the ones who may seem difficult or are older being the last on the list. We have no problem with sharing our lives with a dog who may be on the lesser years but wants a loving home to enjoy and be treated well
yeah raising a malamute might as well be like trying to raise an actual wolf dog, and many of these are wolf dogs.... which is mostly what people will have if they want a wolf anyway.... they're all very high maintenance
If you want a pet cause of its looks, dont get a pet.. Edit: I dont know how one can read my comment as anything else, but I mean JUST cause of its looks. Huskies are beautiful but require alot of work and knowledge, like some other breeds. There are so many things that are more important than the looks. @katielaginess3344 all Spitz breeds have curled tail and are genetically the closest to wolves out of any dog family. You obviously know nothing about dog breeds and their history. Also many wild dog breeds (pariah) such as the Carolina and the Cannan Shepherd are of the Spitz family and have a curled tail. They come directly from wolves and so does the Greenland.
