"Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids" was always bittersweet, because it was the last cartoon show before noon---when the boring adult shows started. Bill Cosby was everywhere then, including "Sesame Street", "The Electric Company", and heaps of commercials. A filthy pervert hiding in plain sight.
14:16 - Shark - Voiceover by Arnold Stang. He started out as a child-actor on the old radio show "Let's Pretend", and went on to play nerds on other radio shows, and in movies ("Man With the Golden Arm", "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World"). And he was the original voice of the Honey Nut Cheerios Bee.
Keebler Elf voiced by Parley Baer, who started out as an animal trainer in a circus, then became a very busy radio actor, playing roles on many shows. He was Chester on the original radio version of "Gunsmoke".
August 4, 1984 Saturday morning - I actually do remember exactly what my 8 year old self was doing- sitting in the back seat of my parents car as we drove to Hilton Head, SC
Thanks for including the Heathcliffe cartoon. Man, these wonderful Saturday morning 80s ads are a great escape from today's dark, depressing world. We could really use something like one to grow on, for today's kids. Man, I hate that i missed out on those Good Humor Shark popsicles!
Yeah, it's really cool to get to see an ad for Mario Bros. Who knew, at the time, that what would become the Super Mario Bros., would end up becoming such a successful, long running, legendary franchise??!!
Kids these days will never know how magical Saturday mornings were
Nope not at all
Because they're on all the time now. They don't have to actually wait till Saturday morning now.
Sad but true
You're telling me! I was one of the last generations to get to experience the magic of Saturday morning cartoons!
