- I interviewed Michael Bloomfield in his Marin County home in 1975. The interview has never been published or used, except for a couple of minutes' worth in the Bob Sarles 2013 film, "Sweet Blues: A Film About Michael Bloomfield." Here it is for the first time in its entirety.

Of all the greats that have passed, I miss this one the most.
Love to see how happy you looked! You were too good for this world. 💔🥀✨🎶
Such a special guy
I could listen to this guy all day.
It is so nice to listen to Bloomfield talk, to listen to a blues/ rock guitarist who is not trying to sound " cool" or "stoned" or every other word is "far out", how refreshing to listen to an articulate, intelligent sounding guitar player.
Magical interview~
Wonderful and inspiring interview.
Thanks for sharing..
qz3bmz I am glad you liked it. Thanks.
Thanks so much for this interview. Every piece of Bloomfield material on RUclips I cherish so much. This is an excellent piece of that literature.
Most blues/rock guitar players I listen to in an interview sound all stoned, or they mumble, or they laugh at shit that's not funny or their talking to themselves or talking about things that don't make sense or they are trying to sound cool But Mike Bloomfield is just straight up articulate and intelligent, how extremely refreshing!
@WalterRimler Killer interview! I love Bloomfield's playing and it is great to hear so much insight from him! Thanks for putting it out there, man.
he sure did takes bloomies advice later that decade... and it rocked!
He was a very smart guy - real smart about a lot of stuff like marketing, people. Much more than just music.
Great interview. Michael was so intelligent and articulate. I play his Electric Flag and Super Session stuff all the time. I am going to try to get into East West. His views on Dylan are so though provoking. Great interview. I've been looking for the film but can't seems to find it anywhere, not on Amazon, etc.
ı just read the title. sorry.
Listen to Ravi Shankar then East/West will make more sense.
Super Session inspiration to play electric guitar.. magic solo on "Stop"
This is treasure
“Highway 51 album …61 whatever it’s called “
“It’s like fucking someone you hate”
Really great to hear this. As with countless other fans we would have all liked to have talked to Mike in person. Very impactful to hear about his views on drug addiction and how he expected Janis to OD/die and how he was over his drug taking and then we all know how he died. Thanks for sharing this.
Mike Bloomfield a World of.
Experiences...At a Blink of his Eye.
Wish the documentary about him (Sweet Blues) was easier to get
Mike was a voracious reader and read a lot of Wilhelm Reich...Reich, a student of Freud invented the concept of character armor
Thanks for pointing this out.
Thanks I enjoy Everyone views.
Was quite a guy. A music guru of his era.
“It’s like fucking someone you hate!,” love this guy!!
Fantastic Bloomfield is my all time king of blues l saw him with the flag and supersession is there any footage of butter and Bloomfield doing east west or a live show?
It would be great to have a transcription of these interviews attached to the videos so all Michael´s fans from other countries (Spanish talking) would be able to enjoy all that he says!!!

Pablo why don't you do it?! LA para ti.
@@andyokus5735 My english is not that good.
Bloomfield bared his soul . I was sorry to hear how Dylan behaved. sounds like he suffered burnout and didn't feel music like Bloomfield
GREAT INTERVIEW comes only out of my left channel but I'm not complaining
thank you very much
This is amazing. What a story-teller Bloomfield was. Priceless.
The Highway 51 album, whatever it's called LOL
Too freaking funny !
Did Mike have a kid?
He started talking about the difference in voices or singing quality between
Elton John and Dylan, he was right , Elton was 100's the singer that Dylan
was , Dylan wasn't really about singing he was about story telling.
Is
@@gilchasin1022 Was'.
Can he even sing anymore?
what a loss! gone 40 years..
I love this guy. Wish he was here so much!!! All these guys were Jewish (so am I). Barry Goldberg, Michael, Bob Dylan, also Harvey Brooks also, I believe.
8:30 This comment really stands out, where Michael talks about
Dylan singing or playing alone, it's great, but Dylan with some players
that don't know how to compliment the song is a disaster, better alone, or
with players that understand how to fit in with the song.
Bob Dylan is proven a genius musician and writer of songs, but he's not mr personality, although Bloomfield did say he was more personal earlier... I think Dylan and his art became an industry... it was all about the business of presenting it as efficiently (and mechanically) as possible. If you've seen him when his voice went weird, deep, he never cracked a smile. There is a doc about a drummer who played in his band for a couple seasons (or less) when he actually had a rather large band... Bob was the boss who never talked much and when he didn't like you he had someone else fire you.
actually my the opposite he gave up. his first records he tried really hard because he was making it. i have read interviews of him putting sub par effort in.
Elton John is a better singer than Bob Dylan... ya think
Wait...this is you giving the interview?
