I've tried the downscaled software only version, with headless pi4, an android tablet connected to the built in vnc server via full-screen browser, sound outputvia my akg headphones and playing on my midi synth connected directly via USB midi. Mixed emotions! I got everything working, I don't feel the ui is easy when jumping and trying out synth engines, I lost connecting sometimes when using Hotspot wifi and latency was a little too high... but still fantastic for what it is. I bought my whole package for $60 and it just works!

Just got my Zynthian 5.1 for about a week and I am really amazed by its possibilities. Absolutely fantastic open source project.
I am considering it. I'm dipping my toes in electronic music/synth and wanted time away from my computer. That seems to be a good device for that.
