I was more thinking. If Punk was there. Why didn't he stop him from winning the MITB in the first place???
Cos it will hurt Drew more to be screwed out of winning the title, again.
How many more PPV main events are they going to have an injured guy interfere in? Way to make the entire gimmick this event is based on obsolete within an hour of the ladder match.
I feel bad for Priest and the botch. Also, when Drew hit the claymore on Priest, he barely even got him. I think Priest was not performing at his best towards the end, unfortunately. However, the cash in situation brought Seth back into the mix with Punk, which I like.
Triple threat grudge match between Drew, Punk and Seth could work
Seth as special guest ref
It was a little lazy. Getting the briefcase out of the way on the same day means they don't have come up with storylines involving the briefcase.
Welcome to this company lol
I think Wai is 100% on the money about there likely not being any plans revolving around a men's cash-in this year, which prompted creative to utilize it as a device to further the Drew/Punk rivalry. I get why people might feel that's a copout, but I'd personally rather they use it in that manner than to give it to someone like Jey only to have them lose upon cashing in eventually.
Shout out Donovan!
I am a firm believer that the referee SHOULD treat it like a shoot and count to three, no ifs ands or buts regardless. But at the same time, I have sympathy for Damien and Rod Zapata considering so much creative would've been lost as a result.
Priest vs. Gunther straight up feels a bit dry, so I wouldn't be surprised if they leverage the botched pin to make it a 3 way. Let Priest take the pin and setup Rollins and Gunther in Germany.
I think this was really bad. I've been insanely cold on Rollins for like 5+ years at this point because his matches are so formulaic. Priest just isn't that guy. He's ok, but not kicking out is 1000% on him. They should have drawn this out of this was the plan. I think it's so obvious Gunther is winning that title and I hope they have actual plans for him. The Drew and Punk stuff has kind of worn thin at this point, if this match is not happening at Summerslam then that's insanely lame.
Priest just looks so out of shape to me...has always looked that way, but right now it is bad.
