I do a lot of karaoke and all I ever hear people do is Sweet Caroline. Copacabana is a very underrated karaoke song. I like it. I'm sure that as a Black man I'm gonna get dissed but that's ok.

I love the song, but the long instrumental portion in the middle might be an issue. Other than that, I agree!

I am very popular with Copacabana at karaoke clubs. I even won 4th place among 16 contestants with it.
      Love the song.

With the long disco version in the middle of the song, I danced a disco with my sister.

True, it is a perfect karaoke song, and I never hear it. I am going to use of for Fat Tuesday because it has the perfect Carnivale sound. Heck, I'm a girl but I will sing it, since I'm more tenor than anything.

    Alternative lyrics by Richard Cheese.
    Her name was Leia
    She was a princess
With a danish on each ear
    And Darth Vader drawing near
    So R2-D2
    Found Ben Kenobi
He had to get the Death Star plans
    Into the rebellion's hands
    So Luke and Obi Wan
    Had to get to Alderaan
So they stopped into Mos Eisley
To have a drink with Han
    At the Star Wars
    Star Wars Cantina
The weirdest creatures you've ever seen-a
    At the Star Wars
    Star Wars Cantina
Music and blasters and old Jedi masters
    At the Star Wars
    His name was Solo
    He was a pilot
With a blaster at his side
And a smile twelve parsecs wide
    There with Chewbacca
    He was a Wookiee
They met with Luke and Obi Wan
    About the Millennium fal-con
    Docking bay ninety-four
    Storm troopers at the door
With a flash of Ben's lightsaber
There is an arm on the floor
    At the Star Wars
    Star Wars Cantina
The weirdest creatures you've ever seen-a
    At the Star Wars
    Star Wars Cantina
Music and blasters and old Jedi masters
    At the Star Wars
    His name was Yoda
    He was a muppet
    Darth Vader was so bad
By the way, he's Luke's dad
    Luke kissed his sister
    His hand got cut off
In that galaxy far far away
Luke has had a lousy day
    Boba Fett was so mean
    Jabba had bad hygiene
Why didn't they all just relax
    Back on Tatooine
    At the Star Wars
    Star Wars Cantina
The weirdest creatures you've ever seen-a
    At the Star Wars
    Star Wars Cantina
Music and blasters and old Jedi masters
    At the Star Wars

Not exactly. The song was inspired by a conversation between Manilow and Sussman that took place at the Hotel Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro, when they discussed whether anyone had already created a song called "Copacabana". After returning to Amarica, Manilow, who in the 60s was a regular visitor to the Copacabana nightclub in New York, suggested that Sussman and Feldman write the lyrics for the singer to a song that told a story. They made it, and Manilow provided the music.
