increase neurogenesis: running, exercise, low stress level, continuous sleep - not fragmented sleep, high fat diet, intermittent fasting: give food every other day - 16/8 eating time

flavonoids, resveratrol, omega 3 fatty acid DHA-EPA not the ALA - eat 80 gram of salmon not from vegan (our body is very ineffecient in transforming it from ALA to DHA-EPA)

from mice: if you let them freely to run - there is neurogenesis. If you forced them, there is no neurogenesis. Interesting!

so probably pick the exercise that you like ...

potentially increasing the bloodflow to the brain

if you give soft food to the mice, then neurogenesis goes down!

I’ve read before the smell of freshly cut grass is neuro stimulating. I’m really thinking the olfactory lobe in humans may be more like rodents in that the loss of smell might be an early indicator of dementia in older age. Please do more research in this olfactory lobe connection.

At 54:50. What about chewing gum? This should be substitute for chewing food. I would like to see study about chewing gum VS not and having the same liquid diet

No any question. Neurons can be regenerated if endogenous neural stem cells can be
    triggered for regeneration.
    I've applied nano-medication, God's mercy, to treat end-stage PD (Parkinson's Disease)
patient, female, aged 86, for one month. Her dopamine can be excreted greatly again.
In other words, her dopaminergic neurons are regenerated. Besides, central pontine
hemorrhagic stroke patient, aged 58, have been treated by nano-medication for
two years and now he'll be fully recoved soon. This case shocks Taiwan University
all medical professors, not fairy-tale story but fact.
One old lady, aged 89, due to wet-AMD (age-related macular degeneration),
became PED (retinal pigment epithelium detachment) and legally blind.
By nano-medication treatment for six months, her vision has been restored,
i.e. Muller glia, retinal stem cells, to be triggered for regeneration, optic nerve,
    and photoreceptor cells.
Nano-medication is the only true Regenerative Medicine, stem cell therapy.
Stem cell therapy is to help those endogenous adult stem cells (ASCs) to
clear away so-called inhibitory molecules so that its regenerative potentials
    can be triggered for regeneration.
    Nano-medication is based on:
God created man out of an extract of clay from ground.
All glory belongs to God !

Try slowly increasing a cold shower. Start at 15 seconds and keep increasing . I'm up to 10 minutes. Check out the ICEman Wim Hof

The Japanese research into mastication and neurogenesis has progressed into human studies, same result.Mastication increases neurogenesis in humans.

Shame 'high saturated fat' wasn't clarified. Lots of different saturated fats many of which are healthy. Opportunity missed I feel.

Fruits are a load of sugar, a bit contradicting the calorie restriction.
