So I was there that day and witnessed the jump live. I worked as the location manager for the company that owned the two buildings. I helped MTV and the producers set the entire thing up. The buildings were only 5 floors...but it wasnt a 16 foot gap, it was 18 feet.
I still have this recorded on vhs from Mtv. It was on "Senseless acts of video." I thought it was a big deal, but no one talked about it. I always felt Tony should have got more credit for this.
I'd literally forgotten about it! I saw the clip on my feed a couple of days ago and was like "Wait, was that Hawk?". Must've seen it hundreds of times on THPS as well. Maybe he overshadowed himself with the 900, or rather that's what got latched onto. Awesome trick and love the style in the grab
Super awesome, but he cleared it by a country mile. This has nothing on Water Tower Ollie w/ Jeremy Wray. I feel like such a hater saying that but it's true
Wait…tony hawk is the gnarliest skater? The vert skater usually in a helmet and pads? I love TH - dude always rips and is a solid ambassador for skateboarding but gnarliest?
@ihatezgoogle6264 Name another skater who has literally brought the sport to the forefront of popular culture. AND still skates... Shoot, Bam almost lost his legs from alcohol abuse and is literally re-learning how to skate. Long live the Birdman. Ca-caw!!!

"why don't you worry about yourself." Lololol let him make magic lololol. Love that
People think it’s pronounced Rally because of Johnny Rotten’s intro in Geoff’s part in Sorry. Still one of the goat skate videos of all time.
Wow ive never seen Geoff Rowley before in my life but a few seconds into the video i just guessed correctly that it was him, because of the thps games
That’s gnarly Tony. Even for the most seasoned professional. I could/would never do that.
Bravo man
talk about what you know please or shut your mouth
I cannot believe I forgot about that.

Would be unheard of to have Dan on
the ramp tony rolled in on the roof gap looks really similar to the jack ass full loop with matt hoffmen did these things happen around the same time?

No tattoos. Little boy haircut. Most insane, gnarliest skater out there. Just jumping buildings 😂
He has at least one tattoo on his right forearm, you can see it clearly in the video
