I’m a girl who grew up without a dad, or anyone that I can ask these type of questions to. I just replaced 3 door knobs easy peasy. Thank you, I appreciate people like you so much.
Perfect timing Leah. I just moved into an older home and need to replace the old door knobs. You're a life saver... THANK YOU!
OMG, this is awesome, thank you, I just moved into a 60 year old MCM with a dozen of these exact schlage knobs out to a back deck, I can now go through them all and maintain and tighten. I do have a slightly different one on the front door but based on these directions I see it is set up with a pin hole instead of a slot. I have to get back to watching your other vids while in lockdown, Thanks!
You're a life-saver! I have a garage door knob that I have to remove, and although I'm sure I could have figured it out, I'm thankful for videos like this, which give me some idea of what I'm in for, once I get around to swapping it out. Thanks for posting!
You're a terrific teacher! I'm SO glad I found you. Thank you for your clearly explained and easy-to-see videos.
Great video! I was having trouble removing some old door knobs and this video helped me get the old hardware off in mere moments. Thanks again!
I had a good customer call me recently, she was stuck in the upstairs bathroom and fortunately had her phone. I drove to the house and had to tape a screwdriver to a painting pole to get it to her and explain exactly what you just showed so she could get out of the bathroom. When she opened the front door she said she was so embarrassed, I replied why, this never happened or will ever be mentioned. I didn’t have the heart to ask for money.
Great video Leah!
How nice of you not to charge her for what was obviously embarrassing for her.
Leah, years ago I was taught a valuable saying of “do good and forget, not bad and remember”.
Hoping it keeps returning in good karma.
Yes Clint, it was very nice of you not to charge ( but in that situation a person might have paid double ), Clint oh, it was also very nice of you to have NOT mention this to anybody! 😉. ( hope she doesn't become a subscriber ) 🤣😂🤣🤣

@@Innomen so, are you Brandon Sergent, or are you Clint Price? 🤔 ( you got to wake up much earlier, to fool this one)😁
Leah, you are a gem! I'm a fairly knowledgeable amateur, but I learn something with every video I watch. Keep on doing what you're doing, because -- dang, gal -- *_you can do this!_*
Leah just want to say I love all you videos. You have help give the courage to do some minor repairs around the house. Did some minor drywall repairs and it’s look good. Keep the great videos coming.
Thank you Leah. Have a Merry Christmas!!
Wonderful. The button was stuck in which meant the door was locked all the time. Your video showed me how to get the knob off and oil the button until it was free. Thank you.
I'm so glad you posted this. Changing locks & doorknobs is on my to do list. Couldn't figure out how to get the old knob off. Thanks, so much!
I've been avoiding replacing my door knobs with the new ones that I bought about a year ago! You just took my fear away. I CAN do this! Thank you!!

i ran into these type of knobs in the past, wish you had videos out then, took me some time to figure out what was going on but I finally got it ,, thanks leah always good videos
Some of the best DIY videos on YT. Thank you!
Love the instruction! You have a soothing way of teaching, thanks!
I really enjoy your videos, i've learned a lot from them and i appreciate you making these videos!
Cool. I like how you explain things simply and clearly.
I thought of wrapping the doorknob with masking tape before I paint the door. But another pro said it's best to remove it. So this must be the best time to learn how to do it right. And I'm so glad to come across your video. Thanks for teaching us how to properly do it, Leah. 😊
I wish this video was available many years ago. The first time that I changed a knob, of that style, it was a challenge. Thank you for sharing.
I work in property maintenance and it never ceases to amaze me how many new hires we get that cannot figure things like this out when they claim to be able to install doors and the like. Ive referred a couple of them to your channel and try my best to pass on what i know at speed. I only wish i had the time to make an instructional on our basic daily jobs. Always happy to see new content from you
(This is no offense to Leah), but, Tony Walker, how old are the guys that you hire? 🛠
I just love this lady... what an excellent teacher ❤️
Concise and useful! Terrific, again! Thanks and Happy Holidays!
Great video! I'm always glad when it's this person!
Over the years I have learned tons of things from your channel. Appreciate it
Leah, thanks for another "tool" for my 'remember this for the future' toolbox for my old house...I don't need it today but I know I will in the future! Sounds like you have a bit of a cold. Take care, we need you healthy. Cheers!
If youre a home owner and have some common sense and tools the channels like Leah's are like a treasure!!
In this video she shows I had a bathroom knob like this i got off using a destructive method but i have a closest under my stairs and I checked it.. Same type as in the video.. I would have fought tooth and nail to change it like my bathroom one but now I know the little bastards achilles heel to defeat it 😂😂

I knew this ... But I just had to give a SHOUT OUT! Seriously, you have no idea the impact your videos have. CLEAR and CONCISE. Luv you Leah, keep your videos coming!!!
Thanks Gary
Leah you are so awesome. Thanks for teaching me another lesson. You Rock
Leah, I just want to thank you for your very helpful videos. I have been a DIY homeowner for the last fifty years and only recently discovered and subscribed to your channel. Even though I consider myself fairly knowledgeable I must admit I learn something new from almost every one of your videos.
welcome Dean, glad you found us.
Thank you! Your delivery is excellent.
Hey Leah! #1 fan here, GREAT video. I have seen these same mechanisms on office locks too...
Googled “bed and bath door knob hidden screws” and what pops up but my favorite DIY YTer of all, Leah! As always, great video and exactly what I needed.
Thank you very much. I have some older brass Lockwood door knobs that I used this procedure on. Thanks for the great video.
I really can’t imagine what I’m feeling right now, I got stuck in our bathroom with this kind of knob! The only one I have is my grandma aged 76 and she really can’t do anything...Our door doesn’t show the pins attached to the walls, which made it harder. Thank goodness I found this lol been inside for like an hour!!
How timely!! Our front door lock just stopped working today!! My dad was a locksmith, but I never learned his tricks. You are a valuable resource!! Thank you so much!! I think I might be able to replace ours tomorrow with this great video.
Yes Susan..........."YOU CAN DO THIS"
70yo house, why a lock on the pantry? Locked, no key since forever. I did it! I got it off and will replace it with a normal no-lock doorknob after my snack. Thank you so much, Leah!
I am so glad I found your videos! You are an amazing teacher who pays attention to the details no matter how small and the visuals are just as precise. Perfect for people who are learning to become comfortable and confident doing things themselves either by choice or necessity. I just wanted to share my appreciation and thanks for your time and efforts!
Thank you.. Very simple, no beat around the bush explanation. I managed to open the door knob with a sweat.
You’re awesome. You were my first pick and you solved the puzzle. Thank you 👍🏼😎🙏🏼
Thanks Jane for your channel. I find myself being lead to your videos when I google for an answer to my problems.
Yeah,I love it! Short and sweet. Makes me feel like I can do it😀
This vid is legit! I was about ready to break out my sawzall but the little button was the trick! Thanks so much!
Thank you very much. Had to change out six locks in an office. The last lock we had to replace was one like this. So glad we Googled and found your video. Otherwise, we would still be trying to figure it out instead of thanking you.
Excellent video! So effective, no nonsense, perfect explanation! Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for the video, couldn't get in because of a lock jam and my mother was stuck inside. I showed her the video through the window and instructed her to push the pin. *Remember, if you don't have a buldged button like in this video, you have to look for a hole in the side of the handle* When you insert a screw driver there and push, it unlatches. Thanks a lot for this awesome video.
Thanks I'm surprising my husband by replacing all the doorknobs in the house before he gets home and I got stuck with one like this. He's going to be so proud of me and glad he didn't have to do it!
This is awesome!!! I needed this to help since I've never changed one that doesn't have visible screws. Got it off in 2 minutes unlike the 30 min before I spent trying to figure it out on my own👱♀️🤘😎🤘
Love this channel/video.. just what I needed to find and learn from.. Thanks seejanedrill
Great tutorial! Very helpful. Thank you!
I love your videos,please continue!✌🏼
Thank you. You have just helped me to understand where and whatto look for in removing a lock
love your videos--so quick to the point
Thanks so much! I was looking for the screws and when I didn't see any, I was wondering how in the world to remove this. Thank goodness for RUclips AND you !!
Very practical tips. Thank you!
Excellent! Another simple lesson learned so long ago it seems like everyone already knows it. Only thing I thought of to add was that latch mechanisms come in different lengths - second trip to hardware store with the old latch mechanism (why measure? That was before cell phones).
I remember the day I decided to pust that slot.
Knob, lock and face plate all came off.
One of them times you just sit there shaking your head and laughing.
Have a Merry Christmas.
Merry Chrismas to you too
Thanks for this video. I haven't done it in a long time and an easy reminder, job done.
I was going crazy trying to find the screws to remove the knob, thank you
Thank you so much. Made very easy for me. January 18, 2021. Wayne McKay (Canada living in Thailand)
I am still trying to fix my sagging front door, one handed makes it tricky. Everybody I know works or busy on stuff..
You have great ideas and solutions..
Joe G I know what you mean Joe, I have the same problem.
Just Because This lady gave me a fairly easy solution i had never heard f called the knuckle buster.. look for her video on that.. i bought the tool.
Thnx for your input Sir
Safe Haven Sanctuary - Holly G. Well i am sorry to hear that.. Truth is i have bothe arms and hands but due to a massive stroke at 44 my left seems to be on a permanent vacation.. im ok,, i live alone and most can not believe my house.. It is called ADAPTING..
Check at the local hardware store for a airbag tool. It is one of the best investments you’ll ever make. It’s just a little flat bag with a bulb pump that you can pressurize, works great hanging or adjusting doors or installing windows, leveling washers and dryers plus many more uses that I have yet to discover.
I use it every day as a locksmith. It is an invaluable tool in my van.
Rocky Mountain Maker ,, That is all well and good if you can get on the floor or use two hands to do things but if i fall here alone i hav to call the firemen to pick me up. Im ok as long as i stay upright.. Long story i wont get into,, in closing im
NOT in any shape to do much.. It was a big chore just to make myself a big pot of chicken soup. Turned out wonderful, i just put up my left overs which i will enjoy next few days.. had to sit and rest my back..
Great video Leah. I just dealt with this issue 2 weeks ago this video could have been useful. I didn't know what to do, so I just drilled through the plate and figured there had to be screws behind the plate holding the knob just like any other knob. 🤭🤣 Turns out I was right and got that thing off albeit the wrong way but got it off.
Thanks Leah! I couldn't remember how to remove the knob and face plate. Great video!
Great video, Leah. I'm happy to know that if I run across one of those door knobs, I'll be able to tackle it. Thank you.
My pleasure!
Thanks a lot! Saved me much time and frustration.
Always a wealth of instruction and information
Thank you so much, beautifully instructed.
Thank you for posting this! We are painting the door today and ran into trouble getting the lockset off. I was doing it right, but I just need a smaller screwdriver. :)
Thank you!!! Worked like a charm!
Leah, thanks for sharing, God bless !
Thank you! Never knew how to do that, and now I do!
Everyday a learning day with Leah 👍
Thanks so much! Love your videos!!
I knew how to do this but watched to see how you explained it ....awsome love it
New subscriber, Good Job I'm impressed, you did more work in this video than Congress did in 2 years
If Congress wanted to improve it would be called progress, clues in the name
@@cozimfrench VERY GOOD.
Worked like a charm.. Thank you. I would have never guessed
Thank you, my house was built in 89 and I have a SIMILAR door knob! PERFECT!
Just want to say thank you so much for this video
Great as always!
She's the best!! I feel like I can do repair after seeing her videos.
You can.
You are awesome!! Thanks so much for sharing!!
This just saved me. Thanks so much!
Excellent! Great info 👍
Thank you! Very helpful!
Thank you for your videos
Thanks for the guidance!
I CAN do this. I DID do this. Fifty years old, sounds about right....my place was built in 1974. I thought painting a door was going to be easy until I came across one of these fifty year old door knobs which I thought I was going to have to cut it off. Don't think I'm going to be able to get it back on so I'll replace it with a normal door knob. Thank you for the video. Ok, getting back to work.
Very helpful. Thank you 👍
i have a door knob like that ,had no idea how to remove it and update it ,thank you
Perfect. Clear. Thank you!!
Thanks! I was able to use this to help a friend out.
Thanks bro, you're a life saver
thanks a lot Leah
That is one thing I know about since I had to replace the door knob assembly on a bathroom door at my Aunt's house while visiting her in Michigan. First I had to buy a new knob assembly since the one she had was the old style and the tools needed since I didn't bring all my tools with me. Once I got the new knob assembly and the tools needed I removed the old assembly and make the necessary cuts to install the new set and installed it. I was there in 2015 and the same assembly is still in that door and working fine.
Thank you for posting this, I couldn't figure it out.
my pleasure
Thanks Leah!
thank you so much for sharing. i got the job done! : )
I hope this video makes you a millionaire...I was finally able to fix my door knob, thanks so much~!
Thank you for your videos Leah... can you do a video on how to replace the weather seals on a glass sliding door?
Leah, You're AWESOM
now this is a reason why i brought my phone in the bathroom....im stuck rn
